Rest area at the base of a fascinating geological formation (Pildappa Rock)The rock is an outcropping of granite, similar in appearance to Wave Rock, and has the characteristic wave pattern, formed by erosion over 1500 million years.
Free Camping on the Abercrombie River near the bridge with lots of room along the river. This is a free, council run, campground, with basic toilet facilities. There is a choice of plenty of shady sites (under the casuarinas) or ones with a bit of sun to charge the solar.
Very pleasant, small river flat shaded by Manna Gum, Peppermint, Blackwood & wattles over short, green grass. Gravel access track. Surrounded by the forested foothills of the alps. Faces grass, moss and tree fern covered cliff across deep swimming hole. Magpies, kookaburras and ducks are common.

Secluded campground on the edge of the Mary River in Mary River National ParkThe campground is set lower than the lookout so you don't get the excellent views from your tent site. When I was here, there was someone camping in the day use area, so I guess they realised the same thing.

Easily accessible campground about 1km from Melville CavesBeing at the end of a bitumen stretch and not too far from town, you occasionally get the odd yob out here, however it is a nice spot most of the time. There are rainwater tanks and large grassed and shady campsites.

A large open woodland area adjacent to historic Maldon, at the base of Mt Tarrengower. Dispersed camping in the open gully behind the day area. Some shade from scattered Manna (Ribbony) Gum, Yellow Gum, Broad-leaved Peppermint and Grey Box over grass and granite boulders.
A camping area on a level, grassed ridge well above (but with limited views of) a canoe landing point on the Goulburn River, although overlooked by distant farms. Cleared and open with only 2 mature Red Gums there is little shade or privacy.
A medium sized, level, short grassed ridge top site adjacent to the historic town site clearing. Shaded by white trunked Mountain Gum and Peppermint, surrounded by dense montain forest and mountain views. A pleasant, quiet, isolated camp. Historic townsite well signed. Rated 4.
