Our accommodation was in a simple, fully-equipped area, which was sufficient as our intention was to spend the entire day at the parks. The camping spots were flat and asphalted, and there was a bus service from the area that could transport you throughout the camping site or to the station for other parks. We certainly intend to revisit and stay for an extended period to further explore and appreciate the camping site.

We reached the Fort close to midnight, the evening prior to our scheduled check-in. We were allowed to place our camper in the extra parking area. The area is enormous. Navigating through the camping site and parking can be slightly challenging. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any problems while reversing into our spot, unlike the difficulties we've heard others mention. There are numerous activities to engage in here, so I highly suggest using a golf cart or bicycle unless you enjoy walking. They provide a bus service exclusively for the campsite. The camping spots are well spaced, surrounded by numerous trees, so be ready to clear off your slides. The Wi-Fi service was decent, but not dependable. We made use of our starling and luckily, there was sufficient space between the trees at our spot to utilize it. Some spots seemed to be completely covered. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would be thrilled to return during the Halloween or Christmas season.

Checking in - It's a breeze if you do it online. Just get to Fort Wilderness, tell the staff you've done your check-in online, and they'll verify it on their gadget. They'll then provide you with maps and easy-to-follow instructions to your site. If you haven't checked in online, there's a large registration area where you can sort everything out in classic Disney style and efficiency. Advice - For those with rigs over 42', we found the loops under 1000 to be quite narrow and tight, so make your booking accordingly. As newcomers, the area and facilities can seem a bit daunting at first, but once you settle in, you'll realize everything is designed for convenience and efficiency. So, don't let it all overwhelm you, just take it in stride. We didn't feel the need to rent a cart; we relied on our feet and the bus service for all our transportation needs. However, if you're keen on exploring everything Fort Wilderness has to offer, a cart would be quicker. We found Frog Togs' cooling towels to be a lifesaver against the heat and humidity. You can buy them at the park or save a lot by buying them before you arrive. One final piece of advice, visit the parks early, take a break in the afternoon when it's hottest, then return in the evening when it's cooler and the lights are on. If you're in the military, get your park tickets at the base! Highlights - The location is fantastic. Being so close to everything Walt Disney World offers is a real bonus. The transportation options are excellent; we didn't need our truck at all during our week-long stay. The facilities at Fort Wilderness are also top-notch. We spent most of our time at The Settlement, which has lots to do and see before you board the boat to Magic Kingdom or the bus to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Disney's customer service is unparalleled and always makes you feel special. Yes, everything

We revisited Fort Wilderness for the second time, and our experience was similar to the first, except for the unavailability of the larger pool area due to ongoing construction, which we were informed about prior to making our reservation. This time, we opted for a standard site, considering that during our previous visit we ended up with a standard site despite paying for a preferred one due to accessibility issues. The process of site allocation is rather perplexing. When you make a reservation at this campground, you only choose a type of site, not a specific one. There seems to be an option to request a particular site, but we haven't quite grasped how that works. Twice now, we've been assigned initial sites that we couldn't maneuver our vehicle into because of our turning radius and various obstacles like trees, posts, or other campers' vehicles. This created a lot of tension, especially when the staff mentioned that the park was fully booked and they might not be able to accommodate us elsewhere (although they did, and we managed to fit into our new site). It was somewhat disappointing to be assigned a site upon arrival, only to find it inaccessible and then notice several other sites that would have been an easier fit for our setup (a 34' fifth wheel and F350 dually), but were told those were already reserved. Regardless, once we were settled in, our stay was fantastic! Disney seems to have some secret method to keep bugs at bay, as we didn't encounter a single mosquito during our stay, even while hosting family in a tent behind our vehicle. Our site had an excellent tent pad, but we did need to buy an additional sewer hose to reach the sewer inlet when our vehicle was parked on the concrete pad. If you weren't using the tent pad, you could probably park your vehicle there and manage with two hoses. Site 1730 was conveniently located next to the restrooms/showers, which was great for those sleeping in the tent. We loved the

After receiving glowing reviews about this campsite and making my inaugural visit to Disney World, I chose to lodge here. Although I found the campsite pleasant, it fell short of my anticipations (perhaps they were too lofty.) I found certain aspects favorable, others needing enhancement, and gathered some insights that could be useful to future campers. Would I lodge here again? I'm uncertain. If I ever revisit Disney World, I believe this could be an ideal accommodation due to its proximity. While the complimentary transit to the parks was appreciated, it was somewhat lacking. If this same campsite, with all its features, was situated elsewhere (excluding association to the Disney theme parks) and priced the same, I wouldn't lodge here again. My final verdict is that the only aspect justifying the price is the location, and even that is arguable. Reservation: I made my reservation last summer online. I didn't have specific dates so I tailored our trip around the most affordable package price for our campsite and park tickets. Here's a piece of advice: if you want a precise breakdown of your campsite expenses, ensure you capture the prices when you're making the reservation. Once the reservation was made and I paid, I could only see the total package price. I attempted to contact Disney prior to my stay and was informed they could only see the package total. The resort itself couldn't provide any details. I'm awaiting a response from the billing department to see if they have a detailed statement. It's not a big issue, just a matter of interest. Before check-in: Approximately a month before my stay, Disney mailed some discount vouchers and a "magical savings card." Since I'm a full-time camper and had already left my parents' home (where I receive mail), I reached out to Disney. They couldn't assist me, but suggested I inquire at the campground check-in. Since the vouchers and card are required to get the discount, I asked upon check-in.
