I committed an error by directly entering the park, unaware that the check-in was situated in the structure opposite the park's entryway across the expressway. After arriving, I secured my spot and then collected my documentation. This particular Thousand Trails park is quite small and experiences high visitor turnover, with spots being vacated and occupied before midday, so punctuality is key. Not every spot provides 50 amp power, and some spots in the central island upon park entry are facing each other, which may not be ideal if you're not acquainted or related to the other party. The spots are incredibly cramped, to the extent that my neighbor's sewer hose was in contact with my picnic table. A considerable number of yearly sites are located towards the park's rear and elevated areas, though most are well-kept. The bathroom facilities appeared clean and well-kept. The bathroom building also houses a laundry room with four washing machines and four dryers, but all the dryers were out of order, so I had to do my laundry in town. The park's location is ideal for cycling trails, visiting the Mammoth Caves National Park (entry is free, but cave tours are charged) and exploring the surrounding areas. I thoroughly enjoyed touring local towns like Cave City, which offers tourist attractions and an excellent Mexican restaurant, and Glasgow, which caters to all your shopping needs.

We enjoyed our time here. Pros: Staff and people were friendly. Clean Decent roads Close to Mammoth Cave and other attractions Walking trail across the road into the NP (9 miles end to end) Playground 25 minutes from a larger town Pet friendly Our 43’ fifth wheel fit fine Cons Sites a little tight but not awful Mini golf is could use a little maintenance but it’s still fun

Just getting here.. so this might be edited along the way. The check in building is on the right past the large NP sign at top of little hill,, when you see the crossroads sign slow down,, the building appears on the right along with the diamond caverns signs.. Our first time here. nice park with lots of clean cut grass. you check in at building on the main road by the big caverns sign on the right when you come to top of the hill. there is no gate access which is different!!. the "B" section is 30 amp pull through sites with you and the other site side by side on the curb side close together with the elec, water, sewer between the units.. :) The main road coming in is paved and gravel roads in the campground that are for the most part in good condition,, no potholes etc. there is one that goes up a hill that is washed out bad.. go around to the end road to go uphill vs the one by the bath house but that is mostly annuals. Seem most of the transient spots are in A and B section for the most part. A section 50 amp, B section 30 Amp.. We have seen a golf cart leading in some rig so not sure as we picked our own site with info from the ranger on open sites in the 30 amp area. Power was good at some 118 to 120v.. the water pressure was not overly high and the water tested out to 129 on TDS meter..) no need for softener. The pool area that is nice, a good bath house off the family center with seperate rooms for showers, toilets etc.. older but in good condition, both of the bath houses. we have good ATT and Tmobile service on this site. t-mobile was 3.5 down, att was 10 down. they have the usual somewhat lame jabba system but we never use it due to att hotspot we bring. GOLF COURSE INFO: TO get to golf course come to main road (across from check in building) turn right and go almost to interstate to next left Doyle Rd.. Follow that around to the pro shop, you want to turn left then back right to go behind pro shop.. (it will make sense look on google maps sat view and park in front of the condo's past putting green) I posted a picture of the course card as there i NO info on this course i could find. I played the course twice now. :) between rain days. :( The greens are bent grass and in excellent shape.. the tee boxes, fairways, etc are crap. The fairways are "what ever will grow" they can cut.. they cut it all to a low rough level so balls can be hard to find. there is not much difference between the center of the fairway and the "rough".. (if i lost a ball on the main part of the course i did not do a penalty shot..) the course is very hilly and there are a lot of washed out areas beside the fairways, in the fairways, on the cart paths which are gravel and around the greens in places. Its kinda short form the back tee's measuring at like 5300 but with the elevations it's a bear. there are are several dog legs both left and right.. and water on some holes. If you can play with someone that has been on it before do so.. not a lot of signs showing how to get from hole to hole at times.. One hole on the back #16 is out of service do to sink hole in the green. you replay #1 again for 18.. (you get discount with TT membership m-f $17.60 +- 18 w/ cart.) We did the "historic mammoth cave tour." it was very cool and a lot of steps.. (if you have ANY trouble with step do NOT take this tour.. ) other than that it was great.. lots of history they were doing tours in the early 1800's .. RECYCLING: For the recyclers, which is hard for sure, there is a nice place down by the cave tours building in the campground to the left.. go past the entrance station and up on the left is all the containers. They take *Plastic #1-2 only *metal and alum cans *Glass brown and clear it's not a ton but helpful..

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The site definitely needs some updates, buildings we’re running down and caution tape was around the playground. Lots of permanent residents.

Staff was great, park has a ton of potential. Buildings seem run down, the park was old with caution tape around it, lots of green spaces for kids to play, places to walk the dog. Many sites are on some type of slope and close together. Internet was ok not lots of signal. But that being said the location cannot be beat, inside the National Park! Lots of hiking and exploring nearby.

One of the best mini golf courses we've seen in TT. Most buildings were open, but stuff had been put away for Covid. Well taken care of, and very friendly people. Literally ten minutes from Mammoth Caverns. They had security driving around, but they didn't hassle people. No gate to come in. They didn't charge for packages, which is the only way to do that.

This is a small RV resort with less than 100 sites. About a third are 30 amp and the rest are 50 amp. All sites appear to be full hookup. The Resort is “dated” and in need of upgrades and renovations but it is clean and well kept. There appears to be less than average full time residents. There are large open areas to be used by the guests. Activities include mini golf, horse shoes, a pool, a game room, and a children’s play area. The WiFi is free in the main building. The rest of the Resort has good WiFi if you’re willing to pay for it. The office is across the street from the Resort. If you don’t see the sign you could drive into the campground and wonder where to check in. The Resort is across the street from Diamond Caverns and a 10 minute drive to Mammoth Cave. Thousand Trails members so this visit was at no cost to us.

Due to Covid a lot of the buildings are closed. We have camped here before several years ago. Owners/operators are very friendly. It is a quiet campground. It could use some updating and there are a lot of permanent sites, but it is clean, the restrooms were clean and the sites are decent. Good for if you need somewhere to stay passing through or coming to visit the caves. Most sites are first come, first served.
