Well-maintained, pleasant locations, amiable, with no issues.

The more recent elevated locations are the ones to opt for. They're roomy, equipped with 50 amp power supply, and have mobile connectivity. The lower spots are set up in a peculiar fishbone layout, and you might find your neighbor's vehicle obstructing part of your space. All lower spots are closely packed. The park is situated a mile away from the main thoroughfare, ensuring a noise-free environment. It's incredibly peaceful. They've transformed a motorhome storage area into the largest enclosed motorhome dog park you've ever come across. It's quite impressive. Enthusiasts of radio-controlled airplanes and cars will be thrilled by the land RC car track and the RC airfield within the campground premises. The park boasts several appealing trails, and you can explore the Verde river floodplain when it's not wet. The drive to Sedona is manageable for a day trip.

Our return visit to this park was a significant improvement from our initial "so-so" experience, thanks to a straightforward upgrade of our site. As part of our TT membership, we get a standard 30AMP site for free, but we discovered last year that the newer, more appealing 50AMP sites must be reserved directly through the park. We did that this time around, and it was a game-changer. There's a small upgrade cost ranging from $3-$10 per night, depending on your assigned section, but it's well worth it. The upgraded sites are larger, offer stunning views, and provide a serene atmosphere. The basic sites, on the other hand, lack these features and some aren't suitable for larger vehicles. The newer area also has a bit of cell coverage, which is lacking in the older 30AMP sites. The park offers a variety of activities for all, well-maintained facilities, and impressive walking trails. However, the lack of a laundry room prevented me from giving it a full five-star rating. The park's location is tranquil, situated a mile from the highway with zero road noise. It's about 30 minutes to Sedona, slightly less to Prescott, with plenty of attractions in the surrounding area. I would definitely revisit this park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We booked M and opted for the 50 amp extra charge, which provided us with a spacious site, mobile network connectivity, and stunning views. The sites on the lower levels are smaller and more compact. Advantages include: a charming team, especially the welcoming gatekeepers; the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings; accessible trails, including a river; two activity centers; mini golf; a seasonal pool and hot tub; proximity to various attractions, including Sedona; two dog parks, one of which is the largest I've seen in a campsite; tranquility; RC car and plane tracks/runway; pool and ping pong facilities; cleanliness and good maintenance; and onsite propane refill. Disadvantages include: a lackluster playground and the lower levels being more cramped with limited mobile network coverage.

Above Average TT... for us. The upper new section looked really nice and would be worth the upcharge for the views alone. Our site was acceptable. Great base location for Montezumas Castle and Sedona day trips. Good location for stop between Flagstaff and Phoenix. Best self service RV wash we have encountered close by on 260.

We stayed here a couple times, the most recent being in 2021. The site we chose backs up to the Verde River, and was next to a cottage (that was empty) and another RV site on the other side. Being close to the river is wonderful. You can hear it from your campsite. We didn't use any of their amenities as we are self-contained. - Water/electric/sewer hookups. We no issues with any of these. - Easy check-in/out - River is close by. - Convenient location to Jerome, Cottonwood, Sedona, and all the historic sites in this area. - Level sites We really had no complaints. It was a pleasant stay.

Initially we started out in the lower section, C1. It was OK but there’s no cell reception, paid wifi is spotty, and sites are pretty close together. C1 was on the end and close to the river, so that was a plus. After two nights we were able to upgrade and move up to the top section in M23. These are new sites with 50 amp, beautiful views, and good cell coverage. The cost upgrade is 750 a night. If we would’ve known we would’ve called ahead to reserve, do yourself a favor and make sure to do that. Entire park is very quiet and dark skies ordinance makes for some pretty nights.

The Thousand Trails Verde Valley RV Resort is a lovely Thousand Trails RV park located in Cottonwood, Arizona in the Verde Valley. The park is very well-kept and maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The premium sites are unbelievably huge in size and have upgraded FHU. The views from them are worth the extra $5-7.50 per night alone! They are level and gravel which makes parking a dream! The amenities here include pool, sauna, community room, shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball, tennis, mini golf, hiking trails, game room, pool tables, horseshoes, ping pong, dog runs, etc. The park is located just down the road from Cottonwood and the historic downtown district. There is a lot of things to do nearby including hiking trails, wineries and vineyards, shopping, historical sites, state parks and more! The only downside we have found to this park is the Wifi. Our signals have been pretty spotty here. You have to call to reserve the 50 amp spots and section M is right near the entrance up top. I have a feeling my review would be very different if we had not been in that section. This was one of the largest, nicest, quietest RV park sites we have had. Our spot was huge, we had amazing views and cell service on ATT and TMobile was okay. We had some other full time families around us and some more long-term sites, typical of a Thousand Trails, but it was all maintained very well. The staff were lovely and propane fill was reasonable and easy. I found the lack of laundry weird and a little annoying. My main complaint. If you use park bathroom facilities, being in the new sections would be quite annoying as there aren’t any facilities up there and it’s a long ways to the bottom. We did not use the pool but did really enjoy the hiking trails through the park. Watch out for javelinas!

What a wonderful Thousand Trails campground! We didn’t want to leave- our site was #118, what view! The campground is clean and well maintained, they even have great signage which is rare. It’s a good campground for walking/hiking as well. We agreed we could happily spend an entire season there and there are some really nice permanent resident sites. Verizon connection was pretty spotty in the site but who cares?

Long term residents are not friendly. Resort is full of “Don’t let your dogs pee on my grass”. Per the office, it’s not there grass!!! It’s 2 miles from gate to our spot and you have to drive 10 mph. On resident almost came out of her car when we went 12 mph. Cellphone service is almost non-existent down in the canyon and paid WiFi is slow and inconsistent. Best part is being close to Sedona without being there.

We got a free Thousand Trails membership with the purchase of our camper and decided to give it a try. The only thing going for this place is that it’s cheap for full hookups. We only needed 30 amp but they only had a 50 amp site available (supposedly), which was a tight site next to all permanent residents. Driving through the campground, it seems to be mostly permanent residents. There are few sites with views and those look to be held for the larger rigs. Again, some looked permanent. We only stayed as long as we did to spend some time planning our next stops and because we knew we’d be out hiking all day and not staying around the campsite. The cell service is bad/nonexistent. Some of the neighbors are loud. And the policing that occurs is borderline absurd. We had added a couple nights and had asked if we needed new paperwork to put on our car. They were nonchalant about it. One of the staff banged on our door and asked when we were due to checkout because the paperwork said today. I said we extended the nights and he said are you sure because the office doesn’t have that on record (I don’t think he had even checked with the office). I showed him the confirmation email and he still said, “and it’s for this site?” He had just looked at the confirmation! Mind you, our name and site number are on the paperwork so he could have called the office to confirm. He was incredibly rude and questioned us even after proving we had the site. He barely apologized and we said we’d go get the new paperwork with the updated dates. Also mind you, we’ve seen multiple people driving around with weeks old dates. We will not be return visitors and would not recommend membership based on this experience.

This TT park could be nice but due to our location in the park and lack of 50 amp and cell service we give it 3 stars. Sites are un-level in the older sections and tight for big rigs. If we could have gotten in the newer 50 amp sites it would have been 4 stars. Internet is poor in this area but the newer sites were better. The 5 mph speed limit and speed police are a bit much. We got flagged down and yelled at while looking for a site. If you want 50 amp book it out 60 days in advance.

We are thousand trails members, so stayed here “free” with our membership. You do not get to pick your site ahead of time, so when we got to the park, we were handed a map with some circled sites that the guy said were open. Upon driving through the park, there were a lot more open than what was circled. Come to find out, he’d circled only open 30A sites, as the 50A sites were all an extra fee depending on the location. We have solar and a battery bank, so 30A was whatever. The sites are all extremely close together, and there were quite a few permanent residents. Those sites appeared to be unkempt and “junky”, but also the largest/premium sites to be found. After driving through the entire park, we finally settled on one that was close to the river access. The picnic table and grill designated to our site were right next to the pedestal and sewer. Also, the cell service for both Verizon and T-Mobile were essentially useless. If you need to work remotely, pay the extra money to be at the top of the hill in the 50A areas, or go somewhere else.
