R364 Rocklands, Clanwilliam
Zuid-Afrika

Tortoise Terrace is a property for self catering in Clanwilliam for up to 4 guests visiting the Cederberg region.

About Tortoise Terrace
If you are looking for a quiet bush break without the hassle of having to lug your camping gear with you, then The Storytellers glamping experience is for you. Tortoise Terrace is located at The Storytellers organic farm with fynbos apothecary, nestled right alongside the wilderness area on Vleiplaas Farm, in the heart of the northern Cederberg, an area world-famous for its bouldering and rocky beauty. The Storytellers has a true, close-to-nature experience with spectacular mountain views and walking trails, set in fynbos with wildlife all around you. Guests have various swimming options, including a gorgeous dam, a waterfall with spectacular views and clean, shallow rock pools for the kids. At The Storytellers, we believe in keeping it as simple as possible! Secluded and sheltered, Tortoise Terrace is comfortably furnished with a Queen-size bed and bunk bed and has a bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Hot water is provided by either solar, gas or a donkey boiler and beautiful bathroom amenities are provided. The tent has a kitchenette in the adjacent wood structure – it is well equipped with a stove, tea and coffee facilities and a fridge. The tent has an undercover sitting area and patio with braai facilities. The Agter-Pakhuis Valley, which marks the northern reach of the Cederberg Mountains as they fade out into the rolling hills of the Karoo, is just more than 20km east of Clanwilliam, towards the historic Moravian village of Wupperthal or heading out to Calvinia. This prehistoric area is home to several unique plant and wildflower species, as well as leopard, rooikat, baboon, mountain hare, porcupine and a plethora of other wild creatures. The valley hosts an incredibly dense gallery of !Xam and Khoi rock paintings and sites of archaeological interest. Other attractions include hiking trails, Storytellers Fynbos Apothecary natural products workshop, Sevilla Rock Art Trail, wine tasting, viewing the wildflowers in Spring, visiting the Calvinia Museum and rock climbing.
