This is a lovely spot for a quiet natural experience in central Florida. No hookups but water is available. It is Kierkegaard shady, it’s horse-friendly so you may encounter their waste but we didn’t find it a problem. Friendly and helpful staff. A very “chill” place for a quiet respite and exploring the area, along with nearby Ross Prairie which is another nice spot (with hookups)

Nice shaded sites on the outside loop. Great restrooms with showers. Shelter 1 has electric if you need to charge electronics. Horses are allowed in the campground so you might encounter what they leave behind. Bike trailhead is in park but it is a .8 mile of deep sand to reach the trail. Lots of horse trails. Sites do not have water but it’s available.

In continuing to explore the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway, we selected Shangri-La for the weekend part of our adventure as it had availability. While no hook-ups, the sites are very well spaced so you can get some decent privacy and not hear your neighbor's generators as loudly. But the site right next to the neighborhood feel a bit tight and visible. The park itself is lovely, heavy with trees, well kept bathhouse and very friendly hosts. There's a simple 1 mile trail out to the amazing paved trail that connects you to Ross Prairie, Santos, Land Bridge and a network of easy and moderate mountain bike trails. We had a blast exploring, and really enjoyed the campground as well. Probably wouldn't be a spot we'd go to in summer however, just too hot out for running the AC over a generator constantly. But the rest of the year, if you can do off-grid, this is a lovely option! Great cellular reception on all of our carriers, no problems getting online, streaming video at night and getting work done in-between our trail time.
