There are numerous locations alongside the river and the water flow is impressive. The spots are not crammed together. During my visit, it was peaceful with no unpleasant odors. The campground manager was amiable.

Campground is very nice as noted by others. However the International Paper Mill is immediately next door and runs 24/7. The smell and noise cause headaches and nausea. Previous campers must be very tolerant to have not been bothered by this.

Nightly rate reflects America the Beautiful pass discount. We stayed at Old Post for two nights. Our site was right on the river. Site was spacious with a covered picnic table and sites were nicely separated. Little by way of leveling needed. The showers were excellent, the campground was clean, and quiet. We could hear the paper mill downstream a bit when the wind was right. We enjoyed watching a barge going up the river to the locks at the damn. We hiked in nearby Mount Nebo State Park, a beautiful treat. Russellville was a good place to re-provision as well.

Enjoyed a night stroll down to the reservoir after a long day on the road. Easy access from highway, clear directions, lots of widely spaced sites.

We stayed here for 13 days in July. This campground is very clean and well kept and the only dings we had were that one of the men's showers were broken and the dump site pavement is broken and uneven. It is on the river and just downstream from the Lock/Dam. Our spot was a water view site, but they are set up high, so you do not have access to the water. It was awesome to watch the barges come by after going through the lock. There is a boat launch in the campground, but being so close to the dam, it is really only a boat launch because of the currents. The campground is connected to a park (cannot drive due to a gate) and it was great for walks daily. The only drawback to the location is that it is right by the paper mill and if the wind was just wrong, it would overpower the campground. There was also the hum of the plant running 24/7. Overall a good ACE Campground and very underutilized.

We stayed at 4 COE campgrounds in the last 10 days over 2,000 miles traveled. This one was the nicest. Big open spots, could easily fit big rigs in. Camp host was great also.

Ten bucks a night (with a senior pass discount) at a great campground? It simply can't be beat!! It was so good, we decided to up our stay from 5 to 11 days, despite having to relocate sites. Each site has 50 amp electric and water and an extra wide pavement area at the front for parking a second vehicle. There is a dump station just inside the camping area. Each site is large, long, paved and level in among mature trees. Campground is well cared for and had clean bathhouses and good showers with plenty of room and good water pressure. Of the two sites we stayed in, we preferred B36, which backed up by the river and had a great deal of space and privacy. One end of the park backs up to a huge city park with a great disc golf course (which is great to just hike), picnic shelters, ball fields, tennis courts and a sand volleyball court. The park is on the south end of Russellville and convenient to numerous dining and shopping options. Mount Nebo State Park is just a few miles from here and there is a spectacular hiking trail around the top of the mountain there which offers stunning valley views. Another home run for the COE and we would most definitely return here.
