A vast open camping space is easily accessible from I-40, providing ample space for seclusion. It takes a short ten-minute drive to reach Williams and 40 minutes to Flagstaff. There are a few isolated trees which may provide a bit of shade in the afternoon if you're fortunate. Verizon's network coverage is inconsistent, while AT&T offers decent to good service.

This charming location on the edge of Flagstaff was a great find, but be warned: They enforce rules strictly and won't hesitate to issue fines if you exceed your two-week stay. I had the pleasure of meeting a friendly bunch of fellow campers and we would go on daily walks along a deserted section of the old Rt. 66. Some of them were fined for overstaying by just a day. Consequently, a number of us relocated to a close-by camping spot and continued our adventure. Welch Rd. offers a vast, open space set on gently sloping, verdant hills, with stunning views of the sunset. The distant sound of the old scenic steam train heading towards the Grand Canyon is a daily occurrence. It's far enough that the sound of the whistle is soothing and solitary rather than piercing or bothersome. I used my time here as a springboard to visit the Grand Canyon, which made for an ideal full-day outing. The local KOA on Rt. 60 (I believe) offers friendly, cost-effective services to refill your propane and, I think, water. A short distance away in Bellemont, there's a Pilot for fuel, and across I-40 is Fort Navajo base where you can dump your tank for a mere $5. I'm not particularly bothered by noise, but it's worth noting that you can hear the highway traffic at night. It's not overly disruptive though.

The subpar condition of the entryways compelled me to leave my Hipcamp, so we opted to camp off-grid in this spot. The unpaved entrance path was somewhat slick due to recent precipitation, but it was manageable with a four-wheel drive vehicle given the flat terrain. There were ample flat camping spots. Those with tents, you'll find these spots suitable as well! There was some sound from the nearby road, but it wasn't too disruptive. Plus, we had mobile network coverage! During a weekend night in March, we had the entire area to ourselves. The location was spotlessly clean - kudos to whoever tidied it up!

On January 13th, we made a pit stop at a location conveniently near the highway. We parked a good distance away to avoid any disturbance from traffic noises. It was quite peaceful as we didn't encounter any other individuals or vehicles. The place was deserted, possibly due to the forecast of 18 inches of snowfall the following day. We reached just as the day was giving way to dusk, presenting us with a beautiful view and abundant space. There were a few grooves on the path, which we managed to bypass without much difficulty.

We tend to find dispersed sites in this area of Arizona as it is halfway to our son's home in 9California. We stopped here, and although the area is pretty, we found the sites totally trashed. There were dirty diapers in the established fire ring. It is unfortunate that there are people who abuse these locations and don't practice "leave no trace."

Stayed for a night and it was super quiet! Could hear the highway a little when outside, but did not hear when inside trailer. Beautiful place to see the stars! Some glass, but overall was a really nice and safe stay! Had internet connection.

Great spot to pull off the interstate and stay the night. Lots of room and level. Easy access off and on the highway. Reading other reviews, I can say they have cleaned up the trash 32ft motorhome towing a car.

Exit 151 bear right to dirt gravel road - I traveled in about 1 mile to first main turnoff - there are a few large rig spots in there - Weather was perfect for the stay 80/55 in late May - Verizon was spotty, going from LTE to no service whenever it wanted - no issues at all just people changing their oil and leaving the jugs behind - if you venture past this turnoff the area opens up - beware of protruding rocks, very rocky area but not that bad of an access road for sure

This is a wonderful place to boondock, conveniently located right off I-40. Yes, I can hear traffic, but it's white noise for this city girl. Hope to see gobs of stars tonight since it's a new moon.

We stayed here for 6 days and we were very happy with our stay. Internet was great! Neighbors were quiet. There is a lot of trash when you first pull in but other than that area, the rest is clean. There were several people here staying longer than a few nights but most people use it for a one night stay. Easy access for any size RV. Lots of area's to park and it's all pretty level. It does look like when it's rainy, there could be an issue with mud - depending on how far back you go. There is grass AND cactuses all around - our dogs had to wear their shoes to go do their business because of where we parked. Just look around before you park and see if you're in an area with a bunch of cactus before you let fido out! William's is the closest town - about a 15 min drive to get groceries, food, propane, etc. There's a dump at Loves. Oh, and there is road noise - maybe not so much the farther back you go butttt i doubt it. The highway is right there. Overall, it was a great spot for a few days! If you're into RZRing/off-roading, there's some cool stuff to go see nearby - including the Johnson Canyon Tunnel and the Johnson Crater!

We have stayed here before and enjoyed the quiet, the trees, and the sunset. This time, back in a far site, was a large pile of trash, which included DIAPERS. Seriously? I picked up what I could, but I draw the line at other people’s 💩! Pick it up and take it with you, pigs of the world!

We stopped here for one night on our way east on I40. The location is perfect for an overnight stay. There is plenty of room for a lot of rigs and we had no problem with the roads. There are a lot of cactuses right at the edge of the roads/sites, so if you have dogs or kids, be mindful. There also seems to be a lot of broken glass. We even have an elk carcus near our site. So, we will spend the night and move on. For a pit stop, it’s great, but not for longer than that.

Caution, the dirt road is rutted and trash is all over. We picked up a bolt in one our tires here.

This is an excellent spot with plenty of room to easily navigate even the largest rigs. The view is just amazing, the sunset alone is worth staying a night here for. Great for kids as they can run around and you don’t have to worry too much. There is an occasional car that rolls through so be aware your going to have passerby’s. I’d definitely do this spot again. Only 11 miles to Williams, AZ. The road noise isn’t bad but you do hear the freeway. Fun fact: the old abandoned road about 1/4 mile from this camp spot is Old Route 66 and you can drive it about 1 or 2 miles. It’s fascinating to see how the old route was and how nature has changed the road after being abandoned.
