Considering the fact that it’s the only game in town, it was fine. A bit on the rundown side but it suited our needs. Over half the park is permanent residents, things were quiet and without disturbance while we were there. There is a part-time attendant, she is there four days a week from 10 to 3, and would not take a reservation because she said there were plenty of spaces. Hence, when we arrived, there was no one to give us information or guidance on the sites. The roadway is narrow and steep, the sites vary in size, both in length and width, and some are 20/30 amp, others are 50 only, none are marked as such. We chose a site close to the office in order to avoid the steep roadway, and because a previous review talked about the wifi being stronger by the office. We didn’t think to check out the electric box until we’d parked and unhitched. Turns out it was 50amp. We are set up for 30. The sites are all gravel and tiered, so getting level was a small challenge. And since we’d already done so, we chose to go with the 110 plug-in rather than move. At the office door there is a grey box with registration/payment envelopes and a black mailbox in which to deposit them. Over the phone I was told they preferred cash, but if there was no other option they would take a check. We were nervous about depositing that much cash, but it wasn’t the first time we’ve had to do that. The next morning the attendant came by to ask if we’d registered and paid, my husband went with her to the office and did the requisite paperwork. AND came back with a 50-to-30 converter plug that they loan out. Which was handy because our 110 plug wouldn’t stay plugged in. There are bathrooms/showers, we did not use them. There is a small laundry room, 4 machines each, it was fine. The promised wifi did not work. Often it doesn’t in many campgrounds, we’ve learned not to count on it. Cell signal was good enough. No TV reception at all, not even a local religious channel, and while there is cable hookups in most sites, there is no cable service. On the plus side, the downtown area is an easy half-mile walk. The best grocery store is the Holiday Market on the other side of town. The Nugget Restaurant makes wonderful buttermilk pancakes. Several interesting historical sites in the area. It wasn’t the best place we’ve been, but it was far from the worst. It served its purpose, it was good enough.
