I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, back when it was known as France Lake. Since changing owners and names, the campground has only continued to get nicer and improve. The bath houses are always well kept and clean. The showers have awesome water pressure and temperature. I’ve camped here in tents, a pop up camper and a travel trailer at a range of different sites at different areas in the campground. This has always been the location for our annual family camping trip which includes about 21 people all together. This year the large group of us stayed on sites 213,214, and 215. We also had a group at 232 and another site I can’t recall. We took site 214. At first glance it was well shaded but presented no obstruction to our 25 foot travel trailer or the awning once fully extended. The site was extremely level. I had to no leveling from side to side which was very nice. The only time we had direct sunlight was very early morning which was fine given the heat. I will say that had the conditions not been dry our sites would have been a tad on the muddy side, grass in areas was lacking but it was not an issue. Between the 3 sites we managed to fit 3 tents, a pick-up truck rooftop tent, and a pop-up camper with plenty of room to spare. We also had 6 vehicles with plenty of room to park them. My parents had site 232 which was located across the road diagonally from us. It was a full hook up site, it offered a decent amount of shade but was in the direct sunlight for the majority of the day. The staff is very helpful and the camp store has everything you need. They also have a small cafe and offer snack style food, chicken tenders and sandwiches, along with ice cream. The food is very good and service is prompt even on busy days. During the dates that we were there we were told the campground was completely booked for the weekend. That being said it never seemed to be overcrowded or busy. We never had to wait to shower or had any issues snagging a spot by the pool. Even hitting the dump station on departure was surprisingly quick. We walked the entire campground and I was honestly surprised to see the number of seasonal sites that appeared to be less than visibly pleasing. Some of them were severely rundown and it some major need of TLC. I’m not sure on their policy with seasonal spots but it surprised me. Other than that I had no complaints what so ever. I will continue to return here at least once a year. Get to the pool/lake early and claim a spot/chair. It fills up very fast, especially the pool. It’s a decent size pool but the deck itself doesn’t offer much space for seating. If going to the lake bring a pop-up canopy and chair if possibly. It seems every year they have less and less available seating. If cooking while you camp isn’t your thing do not hesitate to order something from the cafe, give the pizza a try. Located right at the entrance to the campground is a local coffee shop that is fantastic, they also offer a few food options, definitely give them a shot, we would walk there most morning for our coffee. We haven’t tried it but we’ve heard good things about it, there’s a restaurant less than a 1/4 mile from the campground, located on the same road called the Lamp Post. We keep meaning to try it. I’ve viewed their menu and it looks very well. When booking a site, if you have a large rig, especially with slide out be cautious of the site you select. The website doesn’t offer pictures of the individual sites. The majority of the full hook-up sites are obstruction free. But if you reserve a water and electric only you may run the chance of running into an issue with trees. Before reserving a site I would call and speak to them just to verify your rig will fit.

Stayed here 3 nights for our 1st trip in a new 5th wheel and check out RV’s equipment. Only a couple negatives for this campground; Sewer connection for this site was under the RV. Campground had a lake or pool for swimming and the pool was being prepped for the season but looked like it needed some TLC. Lake had a bunch of huge blow up things to use such as a slide and raft but the Canadian Geese beat us to it and left there calling card on much of the flat surfaces. Watch your power. Our Bulldog showed 120 volts on both legs at night but during the day would drop to 117 volts. There were many positives here that I don’t want to miss; Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of shade trees for the whole campground. Very clean and staff will pic up your trash at your site 7 days a week. All in all it is a nice place and would stop here again.

This is a nice campground with a friendly and helpful staff. We stayed on a "lake front" site, which was really a site that had a view of the lagoon that the lake flowed into. This site was less than desirable for two reasons: One, the spaces were really tight, but there was room off the back of the site for the campfires. Two, the fountains that are in the lagoon are super loud, and they never shut off. While this probably helps to cut down on bugs and mosquitos, it makes it impossible to talk quietly over the campfire. You simply cannot carry on a conversation without talking loudly. The main lake itself appears to be clear and clean and a good spot for scuba divers. Overall, a nice campground, but I would choose one of the larger sites that are back away from the lake for future stays.
