About Leadwood Safari Camp

The Leadwood Safari Camp is a small private camp located in the Dinokeng Big 5 game Reserve, just 40 minutes drive from Pretoria and one hour from O.R. Tambo International Airport. The unspoilt bush offers the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of contemporary life. Leadwood Safari Camp is booked exclusively and consists of three spacious luxury bell tents, each with its own private bathroom. Experience the unique joys of camping with all the comforts of home. Our spacious 5m x 5m bell tents have comfortable beds, luxurious linens and additional blankets. Each tent can accommodate two adults with special arrangements that can be made for two children under 10 years of age to stay in the same tent. Guests also have the option of choosing king-size or twin beds. Tents are not powered, however the dining area does have a power point for charging electronic devices. All bedding and towels are provided. In our winter months we provide extra blankets and hot water bottles to make the stay as cosy as possible. Reconnect with nature and enjoy a full view of the wild as you take a hot shower, powered by our eco-friendly, wood-fired “geysers”. Each bell tent has a private, stand-alone bathroom, fully equipped with a flushing toilet, shower and locally sourced stone basin. Each unit has been carefully designed to provide both a sense of privacy and unobstructed views of the bush. Slow down and feel at home in the communal kitchen and dining area. The camp’s kitchenette is equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas stovetop, cookware and utensils. Spend the afternoon relaxing or playing a board game in the tented boma, or enjoy a traditional braai or evening around the fire. Firewood is provided. The camp also has a swimming pool. This is an eco-camp designed to accentuate the natural elements of the African wilderness and as such has limited electrical power. There is one power point at the lapa area available for charging phones, laptops, cameras etc. The camp is therefore dependent on other power sources such as gas and fire. We also predominantly make use of invasive tree species for our wood fuel to ensure that we play our part in preserving our indigenousness tree species. • Morning coffee delivery to tents • Preparing of the shower boilers for hot showers • Preparing of campfires • Cleaning of the lapa area every morning • Cleaning of bathroom If you are looking for an exciting day out, Leadwood Safari Camp offers daily game drives throughout the week at an additional cost. We are happy to accommodate outdoor enthusiasts who want a unique and specific experience, including activities such as birding or wildlife photography. Game drive snacks and beverages can be arranged upon request at an additional cost.
