Grand Texas RV Resort

22846 State Highway 242
7735, New Caney
Texas, Stati Uniti d'America

Grand Texas RV Resort is the Houston area's newest RV resort. Featuring all-new construction, we have 142 all-concrete pads, 75' and 60' in length.  Pull-through and back-in sites are available for both sizes. All sites have hookups for 30A and 50A power, water, sewer, and cable TV (over 100 channels). Fast, free WiFi is available throughout the resort. We are family friendly:  a playground, pool, jacuzzi, and excercise center will be installed by the end of 2016. We are dog friendly, too, and offer an enclosed dog run for your furry friends, and will install a dog wash by the end of 2016. The resort is located on flat land surrounded by tall pine and oak trees, and is part of the Grand Texas development (http://grandtx.com). The development, which is under construction, will include a water park, a theme park, dining, shopping, and sports fields when complete.

An overnight stay (appreciation to the employees as their website states a two-night minimum) for proximity to a friend was satisfactory. Our 32 ft Class C, towing a VW Bug on a tow dolly, barely fit into the long, level pull-through spot with perhaps a foot to spare. The stand had a 30/50 amp with convenient water/sewer hookups. Despite boasting over 100 cable channels, the internet was subpar, despite being advertised as "cutting-edge". AT&T had three bars. The restrooms were tidy. Due to recent heavy rains, there was an abundance of mud and wet grass. Many people appear to be long-term residents. If I were in the vicinity, I would consider staying again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

The people here are very rude and unprofessional. The first thing that was said to me when I approached the counter wasn't hello or anything it was "we don't allow popup campers but because you're already here and your camper looks nice you can stay." They told me it was posted on their website that they don't allow popups there but when I made my reservations there is a drop down menu for you to choose what type of camper you will be staying in and obviously I chose a popup because that is the only type of camper that we own. On my reservations it specifically says a popup camper but they wanted to make me feel like they were doing me a favor by letting me and my family stay there. The dumpsters were overflowing so bad the trash was piled up on the ground and around the cabana area where we were trying to hang out the trashcan was full all weekend. We asked several times if it could be emptied and that was never done so of course we were swarmed by flies the whole time. The place was trashy and I'm not sure what they meant by their comments to me about our popup because by the looks of some of the campers out there ours was in much better shape. I called a couple of weeks prior to our visit to see if we could get a spot closer to the showers and was told they don't reserve spots but when we got there we were told all the spots close to the showers were reserved! This place is a joke!! Out of all the resorts we've taken our family to we have never been treated so bad! My kids vacation was almost ruined by these rude inconsiderate people who have no business running a resort!

We stayed here during May 2021 and happened to be here during a lot of rain. I know a place can hold water after so much rain, but that’s not my complaint. My issue is with the pad design. I have a 40’ fifth wheel slides both sides. As you can see from picture they have a small square pad where your steps should land, but if I pull my rig up that far my front cap starts to be in road and on wet bay side slide will hit pedestal. Looking around camp majority of people have same issue. Instead of a square pad they should have made the whole pad that width. Also during this rain the kids play ground floods so no go there for my son. Other that this place is just fine. Across the street from water park and 5 min drive from food and stores.
