Upon our arrival, the check-in attendant was extremely accommodating. She directed us to our allocated spot and provided us with useful documents about local attractions, which we found very beneficial as it was our inaugural trip to this region. The camping site was exceptional with immaculate facilities and a straightforward parking arrangement. All amenities functioned perfectly, including the Wi-Fi. A picturesque stream flowed behind the camping spots, enhancing the tranquility of the setting. The fire pit was situated near the stream, further contributing to the serene atmosphere. The restroom and shower facilities were among the most hygienic we've encountered. Brief walks led to waterfalls, a vineyard, a brewery, and a quick drive took us to downtown Elkin, a charming little town. We spent the Fathers' Day weekend there and were treated to a complimentary breakfast for all campers. The camping ground houses 12 RV spots, of which 7 have full hookups, 5 have water and electricity, and 4 are designated for tent camping. We were so enamored with our initial stay that we've already booked our next visit.

We've been a bit delayed in submitting our feedback, considering this was our fourth visit. We adore this place because Larena and Dwaine are consistently warm and inviting. The campsite is small and peaceful, which is how we prefer it. The plots are larger than average. The water outlets are heated, so there's no need to disconnect during chilly weather. The washroom gives off a B&B vibe. The amenities are kept in excellent condition. The shared fire pit area features comfortable seating with lighting for late-night gatherings and cornhole boards. We particularly enjoy the disc golf course that takes you around the whole property. Carter Falls hiking trail and Grassy Creek Vineyards trail are both a short walk away. Another trail takes you along the back of the campsite, following the winding creek. There are plenty of fire pits on the other side. We love the sound of cows and roosters in the morning, which adds to the tranquility of the early morning campsite. We always make time for a short drive to downtown Elkin to explore the local attractions.

We made a trip to NC Trail Days in Elkin and found our location to be conveniently close to both Elkin and several vineyards. The site was spotless, peaceful, and spacious, complete with a picnic area and a spot for a campfire. The atmosphere was welcoming, and we enjoyed live music and a food van on the weekend. We've secured our spot for the next year's NC trail days. Numerous hiking paths were easily accessible from the campsite. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent, allowing us to stream content on the TV and use our Verizon mobile.

Spacious, flat camping areas located by a meandering stream, complete with full utility connections. The approachable proprietors live on the premises. There are two exceptionally tidy washrooms available. Enjoyable walking paths and a charming small village are close by. A number of vineyards are also in the vicinity.

An excellent camping site, peaceful and serene. It's kept in top condition with many lovely small features. Our allocated spot was expansive and flat, facing a forest which provided seclusion. The proprietors were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The surroundings are quite interesting with a number of vineyards and trekking paths.

Our visit to Byrd's Branch was the subsequent part of our initial multi-destination journey in April 2023. We reached on a Monday and were greeted by a very considerate woman at the reception. She guided us to our spot and provided us with documents about local attractions, which we found very useful as it was our maiden visit to this region. The camping ground was top-notch. It was spotless and the spot was simple to reverse into. All amenities were functioning perfectly, including the Wi-Fi which we used with our television. A picturesque stream flowed at the rear of the spots. The fire pit was situated near the stream behind the spot. They had a path for dog walks and trails leading to a waterfall and a winery from the camping ground. We loved watching the cows in the adjacent pasture, especially the calf suckling. The camping ground is ideally located. Short drives will take you to Stone Mountain, Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and the Blueridge Parkway. We visited these sites and also managed to explore the Grassy Creek Winery and Skull Camp Brewing.

Over the years, we've made numerous visits to this campsite, and I can't recommend it enough. There have been instances where we've only stopped for a night while traveling, but we've also spent extended periods here to discover the local surroundings. We booked our spot online and as we had already settled the payment, Larena gave us the green light to head straight to our campsite. Our spot, number 12, had both water and electricity and was facing an open field, offering us plenty of privacy. The tranquility at night was remarkable! The campsite's internet connection was quite decent; I was able to achieve a download speed of approximately 9Mbps, which was sufficient for streaming videos on platforms like YouTube.

A petite camping area containing approximately 15 stone-based pitches. The proprietors are exceptional. The washrooms and shower facilities are incredibly sanitary! They serve Mimosas every Saturday on the terrace. There are trails leading to cascades, it's proximal to vineyards and is incredibly tranquil. I plan to return for my third sojourn this coming October.

The Byrd's Branch camping ground, situated just outside Elkin, North Carolina, is a fantastic petite campground offering both pull-through and back-in sites. The property is picturesque, resembling a park, and is excellently maintained. The space between the gently flowing stream and the camping sites is distinctive and we were impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the facilities. All the sites were spacious and our site was perfectly flat. The Wi-Fi service provided was excellent and we received good signal via T-Mobile. We lodged at Site #2 in a Travel Trailer. The campground's proprietors were just as wonderful, making us feel welcomed and valued. Elkin Valley is rapidly gaining recognition not only for its vineyards, but also for its outstanding trails, including the 1175-mile "Mountain to Sea Trail" that passes directly through this campground. The site is conveniently close to downtown Elkin. We highly recommend it and eagerly anticipate our next visit!

The positive feedback on Campendium led me to believe that this would be an excellent stop en route to Florida, and it didn't disappoint! I arrived on a particularly rainy day, so I texted them my expected arrival time and checked in early to head straight to my site. The directions to the location were clear, which is often not the case. The office and country store, along with the tenting area and playground, were on one side of the road, while the RV section was on the other. All sites were easily accessible, spacious, and well-maintained. There were no problems with the hookups, and the site featured a lovely picnic table and a large, raised fire pit. I had planned to explore the surrounding trails, but heavy rain turned the North Carolina red clay into mud, so I decided to drive to Boone, just an hour away. Later that day, I toured the property, taking several pictures, so take a look! The location is picturesque, with a creek flowing behind the back-in sites and through the tenting area. The road traffic was minimal. WiFi was available, though a bit slow, but it did support WiFi calling. Although the coverage map indicated AT&T and T-Mobile service in the area, I couldn't get a T-Mobile signal. However, using the MIMO antenna with my Nighthawk hotspot and pointing it towards the tower (behind me in spot 11), I consistently got 10-15 MBPS download and 1-2 MBPS upload speeds. I didn't try my booster, but the lack of foliage at this time of year probably wouldn't have affected it. Most sites would likely have good Starlink coverage. I stayed in pull-through site 11 for two nights from February 12-14, 2023. Booking through Campspot was straightforward, and you can choose your spot, although it's a bit late in the process. Just continue clicking and you'll eventually see the available

The camping site was lovely and well-maintained. Our stay was brief, just a few nights. The internet connection was reliable and the Verizon network coverage was satisfactory. Regrettably, we didn't remember to perform a speed check.

My husband and I came across the campground by hiking the trail that goes through it from the Grassy Creek Winery to Carter Falls. We stopped in, checked it out and made reservations for Halloween weekend. Check-in was super easy. Our first night there we were amazed at how quiet it was. So much so we slept in until 8:30am. The trails are nice to hike. You can hike to Grassy Creek Winery, Skull Camp Brewery or Carter Falls. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The store is well stocked with camping essentials. I think I counted 12 RV sites that are very spacious. We stayed on Site 10 but any site will do. They are all nice. We walked through the tent camping area. That too was spacious and clean. I believe there are 4 tent sites. Saturday was Halloween so the kiddos came around to each camp site trick or treating. Afterward, they projected Ghostbusters on a screen for all the campers to watch. It was a lot of fun. If you don't want to hike, you can always drive the short distance to Elkin and walk the main street. Nice shops and eateries. The owners, Dwaine and Larena run a nice campground. I would highly recommend Byrd Branch Campground. We are already looking into camping there next Spring. Paul & Valerie

Bryd's Branch was a wonderful campground. To me it is exactly what a campground should be. We were in site 2 and our friends were in site 3 and 4. These sites only have water and electric. Both are strong. My husband did not have to use our booster for electricity. Sites 1 thru 7 back into the trees. The day we came was early afternoon and we had shade to set up everything. Behind the sites are trees, firepit, and creek. Very clean and neat in this area too. Well maintained. We were able to put up three hammocks with the ability to converse with each other. Plus sleep. Each site has grass and trees between them. It also seemed that the sites were staggered so you could not see directly into the next camper from your camper. There are hiking trails that can be accessed right from the campground. Elkin is just a few miles from the campground. Plus Stone Mountain is very close also. The bathrooms are so clean and decorated so that you feel like you are at home. Smell good too. My husband and I camp somewhere different every other weekend and these are the cleanest bathrooms I have seen. The camp store has ice cream, sodas, candy, shirts, and of course some camping supplies. The camp store porch has rocking chairs. They also have corn hole and disc golf. Pickleball is close by too. Sites 8 thru 12 are pull through with plenty of ability to get sun for those that have solar panels. Sites 5 thru 12 are full hookup too. The owners are nice and easy to talk to. This place is one of my top 5. I want to go back soon and stay longer.

We went with friends to do the Hwy21 100-mile Yard Sale event, recommended to us when we booked the weekend. Fun event! We were impressed with the friendliness of the campground owners, the cleanliness and upkeep of the entire place. It is a small place, but you have plenty of space between spots, and the creek behind the main row. Elkin is a cool little town to hang out in as well. Will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a busy park full of the usual "Family Friendly to-do" things. (Noisy peeps everywhere) This is not the place! This is so well laid out, spaced and beautifully clean sites with plenty of elbow room. We will make this destination often, we loved everything about it. Thanks Dewayne & Larena, you guys are great!

Bryd Branch Campground is a lovely peaceful family campground. While on our journey we needed a place to stay. That day we contacted Byrd Branch Campground and were fortunate enough to reserve a pull through site for our 39' motorhome. We enjoyed this place so much we stayed a few more nights. This campground is well maintained, offers activities disk golf, walking trails nearby, trees surround it, a store on site, it is easy to get to because of the signage, and close to pickleball courts. Most of all the owners Larena and Dwaine are wonderful hosts.

This family owned campground is immaculate, with very spacious sites. I really like how deep the sites are that back up to the creek. There is a playground across the street with picnic tables. The area is beautiful and the location of the campground is peaceful. We hiked from the campground to water falls, a winery, and into town. The bathrooms are across the street and a up a hill, but very clean. The country store is handy and there is lots of local information available there. We really enjoyed our stay.

Literally. What the Dr ordered. A tiny slice of heaven. This is my first camper, and our first trip out in it. We were green as it gets. My stress level had gotten so bad I was developing new and annoying health issues. So I bought a camper and cut my summer hours at work. This was our first time out & Byrd’s Branch set the bar! I was nervous about backing and parking. It’s different when it’s not your own property you might back over and tear up, lol. Dwaine came down, only when invited, and just talked me right back in there. The sites are so clean, and level and quiet. The back in sites are right up to the creek, with a fire pit right at them. Everyone was very respectful and friendly. Larena was on top of anything you needed. She was so open and welcoming - felt like you could just stand there and visit all day. The little country store has basics and souvenirs. I took the dog out hiking both days. Trails are easy to follow, safe and just plain lovely. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to shed some stress - here it is! We booked again before we left. And I’ll book again next time we are there. My husband doesn’t like to travel & has some reservations about the weekend. He said after this experience he was all in! Thank you Larena and Dwaine - we appreciate you so much!
