This recreational area is conveniently located just beside Highway 1 in Bodega Bay, providing excellent proximity to the city. The personnel are amiable. The restrooms and washing facilities are neat and kept in good condition. The camping spots are flat and the utility connections are simple to use. Starlink offered impressive internet speeds. Both AT&T and Verizon had decent service, though it varied throughout the day. I would certainly revisit this place!

A neat, compact campground with closely packed sites. The staff is welcoming. There are separate areas for small and large dogs, albeit somewhat limited in size, but handy. Numerous placards around the area advise against allowing your dog to relieve itself anywhere other than the designated dog zones, whether on grass or gravel. Numerous other signs forbid the use of bicycles, skateboards, etc. within the property. You must carry your bicycle to the solitary trail. No fire pits are available, but they can be rented for $25 per day. Firewood is sold for $30 per bundle. There's a trail that leads to Salmon Beach, provided you can navigate the modest dunes at the end. Located adjacent to a two-lane Highway 1, which is narrow and lacks bicycle or pedestrian lanes. The nearest town is approximately 2 miles to the south, making it somewhat isolated if you don't have a vehicle. They offer some games, complimentary showers in the bathhouse, which are satisfactory. Laundry services cost $2.00 for washing and $2.00 for drying. The highlight of the place is a fantastic coffee shop situated between the campground and Highway One, offering artisan baked goods, breakfast, and lunch sandwiches, as well as a Mexican restaurant serving delicious meals.

The download and upload speeds for Verizon, with a Pepwave antenna mounted on the roof, were approximately 18 Mbps and 3 Mbps respectively. My phone's ATT service delivered speeds of 6/0.4. The campground, typical of a state park, had a sandy and uneven terrain. The site was spacious enough to reverse into without having to unhitch for the night. Facilities included a functioning dump station and access to drinkable water.

The disposal site is currently shut down because individuals in their recreational vehicles have been disposing of wet wipes in their lavatories.

Easy to find, easy check in pleasant staff, my site was raked pea-gravel, very neat. The utilities worked well. the park has a slight downhill slope towards the bay, the site was ever so slightly out of level side-to-side, easily accommodated. The campground is surrounded by tall pine trees. That combined with almost constant overcast skies gave a closed-in feeling. I wish I could tell you what it looks like in sunshine, but there was almost none during my August stay. Town and the beach were about a mile away. Walking on PCH/Highway 1 from the campground would likely be deadly. Functional AT&T service.

Immaculate grounds, laundry and restrooms. Sites are reasonably sized. Excellent complimentary DVD catalogue, which is good because the wifi is terrible. About a mile to a gorgeous beach (you can walk or drive through the state park). Walking to town is suicide along hwy 1, so you will have to drive even though it is very close. Doran Regional park is great for easy lounging on tbe beach. Not much sun but 65 degrees better than 100 inland. Good seafood but Very Expensive. The little town of Bodega where The Birds school scene was filmed is just up the road. Overall, a very good value considering the other RV park is more than double the rate.

Bodega Dunes is conveniently located right on the harbor and you can walk to several restaurants from the campground. You can also walk across the dunes to the beach from the campground. The campground itself shows some signs of needing maintenance as well as signs that it is being performed. The listed pad lengths of campsites are not always accurate. We stayed in site 75 which was listed as a 31 foot pad. It was about 45 feet long and we had no problem fitting a 28 foot trailer and our tow vehicle in it. I think this is due to some recent upgrades. Sites 69 through 80 clearly have been recently paved as has the road in front of them. All of these sites will take larger vehicles. While some of the other sites will take a larger vehicle, many will not. If you do need to park a vehicle elsewhere, there is overflow parking available. The spigots in the campground are not threaded, so if you need fresh water, fill up at the dump station near the entrance kiosk.

We loved this location and staff. Great Wifi. Very Quiet. Close to everything. Very clean restrooms and showers. All spaces are gravel and some have a steep slope but we were able to level. Well stocked store with various RV parts.

Several campers, including me, have noted that the dump station was closed. As of my most recent trip here on January 14-15, 2022, I can confirm that the dump station is back open and for no additional charge. Bodega Dunes continues to be a favorite spot for me and my hubby. Easy to get to, spacious sites, clean, scenic and quiet. On my most recent visit, my hubby and I stayed in Site 17, which is large, very private and backs to a trail through the eucalyptus.

While there is nothing technically wrong with the campground, the area is not close to the water and you need to drive everywhere. Not our cup of tea. Clean site, clean bathrooms and well maintained. I found the staff to be okay but not very friendly or helpful.

Extremely well maintained park. Restrooms were spotless and sites are nicely maintained and fairly level. The camp is really quiet and relaxing, the host is wonderful and gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to visit during our stay. She also told us about a great Farmer’s market that sets up right next to the park on Sundays during the summer. There’s a Mexican restaurant and a small cafe near the entrance and the office has a good DVD collection to loan out on top of cable TV on most sites. Other campers were very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommended!

Bodega Bay is becoming one of our favorite places to camp. This was our first time staying at Bodega Dunes and we’ve decided this will be our “go-to” from now on. We love that it is close to town, but feels far away. The wind through the eucalyptus sounds like the ocean, and the foghorn is always in the background (which I LOVE). Our site (56) has a nice alcove in the back that is private & protected. Remember that it gets windy - some sites are more protected from the wind than others. This campground is on campsitephotos.com so I’d take a look there. Our favorite things to do are chowder at Spud Point (walking/biking distance), Carmet Beach, kite flying (both kite stores are fun). Point Reyes and The Marshall Store other favs if you’re up for a drive. **Note that the dump station is not working again. Apparently they just had it fixed but it was a no-go for us.

Please note as of 4/21/21 the dump station was still closed and some of the bathrooms were not operational. We camped in space 17. Our pad was big enough, but the area around it was huge (big enough for 2 tents) and we felt far enough away from all our neighbors. Directly across the site is a hilly path leading to the beach (approx 1 mi.). The site was fairly protected from the wind and we could barely hear the Bodega Bay light house signal. The beach is about a 5min drive and it is worth driving to if you are hauling a lot of stuff. The beach was clean, quiet, and a great place to spend the day. Verizon was ok with our WeBoost.

I'm a frequent camper at this lovely state park and have previously posted a review. Adding a new review to simply alert RV-ers that the Dump Station is closed as of 4-30-2021 and has been closed or many months. Per the on-site ranger, there is not a reopening date.

Beautiful campsite and extremely quiet at night. However, their dump station is currently out of order and they are not sure when it will be up and running again. Also, as another reviewer noted, there is a semi constant beeping sound from somewhere on the coast. We didn’t hear it during the night though so maybe they turn it off at night. It didn’t really bother us. We would definitely stay here again!
