This location is certainly one I'd consider revisiting. While it may not seem suitable for an extended stay at first glance, the variety of available activities could potentially change my mind.

We used this place as our headquarters for White Sands during a three-day visit in December. The quality of the place matched our expectations and the nightly rate was reasonable. While it's a decent choice, we might opt for a more adventurous setting when we return to this area. I would suggest this place to anyone who requires full amenities, needs to be near the city, or has KOA discounts. We might consider staying here again due to the lack of alternatives in the vicinity. The campgrounds consisted of gravel areas in a large open space, equipped with a lamp, table, grill, and a cinder block wall for privacy from other campers. The hosts who welcomed us were extremely warm and hospitable.

The park's placement is great for discovering nearby places such as White Sands, Ruidoso, Roswell, Cloudcroft, and so on. The spots were pleasant, divided by low walls. Our spot included a picnic table. We didn't use the Wi-Fi or cable, but we were informed they were accessible. The park was simple to reach and the workers were amicable. We'd consider lodging here again if we were traveling through, but it wouldn't be our primary destination.

While this campground is decent, it doesn't quite measure up to other KOA locations we've visited. However, it appears to be the top choice for those visiting White Sands!

Stayed in E4 tent for an overnight with rack mounted front runner and PullKitchen. Front desk was so helpful to provide just the right site since tent folds out four feet on drivers side and PullKitchen slides out of truck bed five feet. Liked everything about this KOA.

We normally don’t stay at KOA’s, but passing through Alamogordo we wanted a place that we could catch up on laundry, maintenance and shopping, and this was a great bet. We were very happy here. Park itself is quiet, lots of expected surrounding area noise. Clean facilities and awesome staff make this place a winner.

I usually go to Oliver Lee SP, but ended up here because I wanted to hike in Cloudcroft and Ruidoso. My site was a Pull Thru site with a L-shaped wall that does provide some privacy. Bathhouse was updated. It is convenient to grocery store and Pistachio Land which is nice. I could hear the trains but they don't really bother me. Overall. the staff was friendly and the location convenient.

Used as a passing-through overnight with reservations the morning of (as normal for our road trips). Trees to east and west of our site helped with the heat that we were working against on our travels in June '21. Restroom/shower facilities were clean and worked for us. Trains were not a problem as our A/C was running all night. Sites were gravel. We were able to get a sled on loan to take out to the dunes. All-in-all, a good choice for the area.

This Koa is in the middle of a residential area it’s older but nicely kept .You can hear the train lol It’s about 20 minutes to white sands and pretty near shopping . The bathrooms were nice except for the smell sometimes. Some sites don’t have cable ( like ours ) would stay again. Hit up pistachio land , it’s right outside of town. We took the tour for 4 bucks for both of us Sierra gave the tour she was great .

I am a pretty easy going camper so I just want to hook up and relax after a day of driving and hiking. The campground was pleasant but had one major drawback - approximately five trains came through between 9 pm and 5 am' blowing their whistles or horns for about a minute or two each time. I think this would have been a problem at any other RV park in town but it definately woke this sound sleeper. The campgrounds were clean and people were pleasant. Did not use facilities. Cell and wifi was good. Included cable.

We stayed at the Alamogordo KOA for a couple of nights in order to visit the White Sands National Park (which is amazing). The park itself is quite dated however it is maintained impeccably. The staff at the front desk couldn’t have been nicer and the maintenance staff were always waving hello when you walked or drove by. The RV park is right in the middle of town (literally), so it’s easy to get groceries or fuel. The only reason I’m not giving a five star review is because some of the largest spaces, including the one we were in, didn’t have a sewer hookup, while others did. It’s not a huge deal breaker but is really convenient as most other parks provide them in the large sites that can support 65’ RV/toad rigs.

This camp ground really tries to maintain the same standards as other KOAs but it seems to be on the downward slide. From afar it seems to be a standard KOA, however, once you start your stay you recognize some issues. The cons: The campground is surrounded by either run down trailer homes or businesses. A train track is just down the street and is very active. Last night it seemed a train was blowing its horn every 45 minutes as it sped by. Some of their long term residents keep their site as if they are trying to blend in with the run down neighbors. The pros: The majority of the staff is very friendly. The campground itself seems to be maintained fairly well. The location in centrally located within the city. In general, I don’t fault the campground for their surroundings but i wish others would have discussed some of this place’s drawbacks before made the decision to spent almost 40/night.
