Wannon

A secluded camping area in a large reserve of dry sclerophyll open forest over short grass on a level, gravelly plateau above the Wannan River. Camping area is distant from the day area, next to a small cricket ground but open to the through access road.

Genoa Rest Area Campground

Level river flats above the Genoa River. By the old highway bridge. Originally a caravan park, power has been disconnected and a tennis court added. Mature gum shade. Secluded site possible to north of tennis court overlooking river. Picnic tables, barbecues, toilets and pay equipment.

Christies Beach (Banyule Park) Campground

On a sharp bend, on the banks of the Murray, this popular camping site has plenty of room to camp among the large established gum treesNumerous cleared areas for vans/motor homes, well shaded, can be difficult to negotiate if recently rain has fallen.

Glendinning Campground

Rocklands

Pleasant lakeside camping in open dry sclerophyll forest within Rocklands State Forest. Reasonable shade provided by Manna and Yellow Gum over short grass (slashed) and gravel. Most sites slope a little and have water views. The water edge is close, even when the reservoir is only 25% full.

Baan Hill Picnic Area Campground

Large free caravan accessible camping along side a creekThe sites are large, grassy and level and suitable for big rigs. Plenty of shady sites or areas with more sun if you need to charge the solar.

Yornaning Dam Campground

Unfortunately it seems that camping is no longer permitted here (see comment at bottom of page). Very pretty little campground alongside the (fairly small) Yornaning Dam There are picnic tables, long drop toilets, wood fired barbecues and plenty of shade.

Dandos Campground

A quiet, remote, attractive site on a former tree nursery in a large bend of the Gellibrand River featuring a magnificent avenue of poplars. The camp ground, separate from the day area, is a generally level grassy flat with thin shade from open rows of Messmate.

Cherrypool Campground

A pleasant, extended, level reserve in open River Red Gum forest over good grass on the banks of the attractive Glenelg River. Most of the 8 BBQs and tables are near the highway. A nature walk extends into the riverside marsh at the far end of the reserve.

Berry Jerry Precinct Campground

Berry Jerry

Previously Berry Jerry State Forest, now part of Murrumbidgee Valley National Park. Camping no longer encouraged. Bush camping on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, with no facilities.

Paddys River Camp Campground

Paddys River

An open grassed area beside the Tumbarumba–Tooma Rd, 18 km south of Tumbarumba. You can swim and fish here; and in the area mountain bike and bushwalk. Bring your own firewood. When reviewed (Jan 2015), it was packed with all types of vehicles, so it is popular.

Forges Beach Campground

Dispersed camping on broad beaches by the Murray River, surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gums, billabongs and swamps. Prolific bird life. Distant, background highway noise. Forges No 1 Beach is broad and large, partially grassed with WC, but open with little shade.

Glenpatrick Reserve Campground

Glenpatrick Recreation Reserve will be closed until further notice to allow for restoration of buildings and the removal of 3 trees and pruning of the remaining 100 year old commemorative pine trees. The Glenpatrick Recreation Reserve Committee will inform this site when the reserve is re-opened.

Flat Rock Campground

Riverside campground suitable for caravans about 20 minutes from Bathurst NSW. The area is quite large and open with plenty of well maintained grass for pitching a tent.

Parker Hill Campground

Cape Otway

A small campground right near the inlet for the Parker River. The geology and wildlife here are spectacular, as is the fishing and surfing. This is also a great spot to base for kayaking trips as the Parker River is nearby.

Beauchamp Falls Reserve Campground

Beech Forest

This is a small grassy and shaded campground in the northern section of Great Otway National ParkThere is a great little walk that leads to the waterfall and creek (about 3km and 3hours return). The walk itself is quite steep, and unfortunately you can't actually swim in the pool at the bottom.

Lake Dyer Caravan Park Campground

Well established campground run by council on the edge of Lake DyerLake Dyer is a stocked impoundment (so QLD fishing licence is required). It is stocked with Bass, Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and Cod.

Baird Bay Campground

This community maintained campground is right on the waters of Baird Bay, and although it only has minimal facilities is quite comfortable and roomy. Sites are mostly gravel/sand and suitable for tents camper trailers and vans.

Licola Caravan Park Campground

Small riverside caravan park on level, well grassed (mown) green flats above the Macalister River in a narrow valley. Modern facilities. Hot showers Limited shade. Adjacent to general store/pub/fuel stop/post office.

Waitpinga Campground

In coastal mallee scrub, a short stroll from the beach, suitable for tents and camper trailers. Waitpinga Beach There is a walking track Waitpinga Beach (about 600m) or you can drive / walk down Dennis Road about 1. 3km to the carpark at the end of the road.

Wild Dog Bend Campground

Mount Richmond

Pleasant riverside camp overlooking the winding gorge of the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. The furthest upstream vehicle accessible site within the Park. Bush setting with reasonable shade from Brown Stringybark Gums. Both sites are level, grassed and reasonably large, separated by shrubs.
