Pleasant lakeside camping in open dry sclerophyll forest within Rocklands State Forest. Reasonable shade provided by Manna and Yellow Gum over short grass (slashed) and gravel. Most sites slope a little and have water views. The water edge is close, even when the reservoir is only 25% full.

Unfortunately it seems that camping is no longer permitted here (see comment at bottom of page). Very pretty little campground alongside the (fairly small) Yornaning Dam There are picnic tables, long drop toilets, wood fired barbecues and plenty of shade.

A quiet, remote, attractive site on a former tree nursery in a large bend of the Gellibrand River featuring a magnificent avenue of poplars. The camp ground, separate from the day area, is a generally level grassy flat with thin shade from open rows of Messmate.

A pleasant, extended, level reserve in open River Red Gum forest over good grass on the banks of the attractive Glenelg River. Most of the 8 BBQs and tables are near the highway. A nature walk extends into the riverside marsh at the far end of the reserve.

An open grassed area beside the Tumbarumba–Tooma Rd, 18 km south of Tumbarumba. You can swim and fish here; and in the area mountain bike and bushwalk. Bring your own firewood. When reviewed (Jan 2015), it was packed with all types of vehicles, so it is popular.

Dispersed camping on broad beaches by the Murray River, surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gums, billabongs and swamps. Prolific bird life. Distant, background highway noise. Forges No 1 Beach is broad and large, partially grassed with WC, but open with little shade.

Riverside campground suitable for caravans about 20 minutes from Bathurst NSW. The area is quite large and open with plenty of well maintained grass for pitching a tent.

A small campground right near the inlet for the Parker River. The geology and wildlife here are spectacular, as is the fishing and surfing. This is also a great spot to base for kayaking trips as the Parker River is nearby.

This is a small grassy and shaded campground in the northern section of Great Otway National ParkThere is a great little walk that leads to the waterfall and creek (about 3km and 3hours return). The walk itself is quite steep, and unfortunately you can't actually swim in the pool at the bottom.
