We arrived to around 6pm to find most sites open. The campground was quite and we had part of it to ourselves. The facilities could use some cleaning and maintenance.

We were at the nearby KOA which was not at all what we wanted so we left and came here. It's a beautiful and quiet county campground with good sized sites, water and electric plus a dump station. We didn't use the bathrooms but they looked updated. Sites are a bit hard to back into as they aren't angled but otherwise a great stay. We would certainly stay here again on our way through town.

We came in on a Tuesday afternoon. No one else here. They have 24 sites, we reserved online (campground is reservation only). We did not see a park ranger or anyone else. There is a walking path that goes from the campground to a canoe launch about a half-mile away. The area is very well maintained. A bit pricy for dry camping, but we did find a nice pile of wood at our site when we arrived! Not sure if it was the previous campers or the park ranger who left it. Close to the road so you can hear traffic, but feels secluded and tucked away amongst the trees.

When I stayed in July 2019, you had to register and pay online to secure your reservation. No on-site cash/check payment accepted. Stayed here one night on my way from Connecticut to Michigan. It was a basic, cheap place for a quick stop over, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than a night here. Toilets were not in great (or even decent) condition. I stayed on a Monday in July and was the only one here so it was quiet. Some road noise but not bad. The wind blowing beautifully through the trees nearly canceled out the sound. I would stay again if ever passing through the area in the future. I was able to make calls/texts and do some light surfing of the internet on my phone. Very convenient off of I-80 (the Ohio turnpike), only 15 minutes south.

There are 4 sites for first come first serve that can't be reserved and can be paid for at the entrance. The rest can ONLY be paid for by reserving online. Most are fairly level sites, grass, trees, picnic tables, fire pits, vault/pit toilets. No electricity and didn't see any water faucets, there are specific drains set up to dispose of your washing up water etc. Trails in the woods, can't see the river but can walk to it. We were the only ones there.
