Westermill Farm is tucked away at the end of a private valley, deep in the rugged heart of EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK. On the farm you will see cattle, sheep, pigs, hens, geese and working sheep dogs!
The camp fields consist of 14 acres of mown paddocks beside the River Exe with new toilet and showering facilities accessible to all campers. Our new family shower rooms and the large drying room are perfect for a comfortable camping experience. The hot water is provided by our eco-friendly wood-chip biomass boiler using wood grown on the farm.
We sell wood logs and marshmallows in the farm shop (along with lots of other tasty goodies) and campers are welcome to light fires in one of the fields (4th field).
The camp site is located in the heart of the International Dark Sky Reserve which means you are perfectly located for some excellent stargazing; you just need to look up on a clear night!
Westermill makes an ideal base for exploring the open moorland, wooded valleys and spectacular coastal scenery or just simply for relaxing and escaping the hum drum of everyday life. Visitors can enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm as Westermill does not border any roads.
It is a child's paradise. They adore playing in the river, fishing with nets, making dams - while you relax in your tent.
Come and see how an Exmoor hill farm works and learn about the prize-winning herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle.
Additionally, we have five Scandinavian-style cottages which nestle in grass paddocks on the farm. The hot water is provided by our eco-friendly wood-chip biomass boiler using wood grown on the farm and each cottage has a wood-burning stove for the full cottage effect!!!
