Our four-day stay in this beautiful, clean state park was pleasant, with its easy entry and exit points. However, the location of your campsite plays a significant role in the experience. A waterfront site would likely offer a fantastic experience, but if you are unable to secure one, it might be more cost-effective to look elsewhere. Our campsite was not waterfront, and although it was only a five-minute walk to the water, it did not justify the $38 nightly fee, which included a $10 daily park pass. The park itself was lovely, but I wished for more beach access. The available areas were quite small and not ideal for lounging by the lake. We did not spot any moose or elk during our visit, perhaps due to the warmth, but we did see deer and numerous hummingbirds. If I were to revisit this area, I would likely choose a campsite along the river on HWY 14, considering the cost. It's worth noting that the vendor who previously managed the park seems to have lost his contract due to a dispute with the state, as indicated on the state park's page. Consequently, there are no longer shower facilities, and the general store that was once by the road is now closed. However, the RV dump stations remain operational, which is a plus.

It's well worth the drive through the park. Awesome places to camp, beautiful scenery, and lots of fun looking for deer, elk, and especially Moose. Make sure u have a good four wheel drive vehicle, so u can drive up some of the rugged roads. We spent one night here while traveling in our 30 ft RV, but wished we would have stayed longer. Our reservation for a lakeside spot, #245 was made well in advance, and although the access road was dirt and dusty it led to great mountain and lake views. We were in a section with only a few spots and it was very quiet. Deer and Moose were seen from our campsite there are a few trails to walk or roads to explore. This was great dry camping with no cell service and no hookups. Vault style toilets were clean, and I would highly recommend this campground or the adjacent ones to those who enjoy nature and dry camping. One Note: the dump station is located in another campground that is near the entrance to the State Park, but was not operational and under construction when we were there 6/2022.

We were thankful to get a site at 4pm in July on a Thurs but it’s just ok here as it’s a bit rough and small sites even for our 17’ trailer. Other campgrounds like Sugarloaf and Brookfield were full.

Up a very well maintained FS 100 road this is a really nice campground We were able to stay in the host site right along the creek Host may not report until first of July??? There were 5 other sites occupied Enough trees for privacy but open enough for great solar gain on my panels and clear view of northern sky for Starlink dishy. Was also able to use T-Mobile but it indicated 3G so I assume it was in roaming mode —plans are always changing but could be data caps while in roaming mode All sites appeared to be pretty level

Use this campground only as a last resort Trees have been cut down due to beatle kill. Well went bad years ago, so no potable water.

Medicine Bow is beautiful. This campground looks like a mess; not maintained; no host. No other campers in site.

We spent a long July 4th weekend here and loved it. Beetle kill area so it's been closed for 10 years, ranger said it just reopened. Cleared area was great for our solar and provided open views of layers of mountains. We saw several moose and camped by the stream that provided nice white noise (for the inevitable campers who don't know how to camp!). No road noise towards the back of the campground. Abundant wild flowers. Water wasn't on in any campground yet when we were there. Lots of great hikes, scenic drive, and nice to just sit at the campsite. Verizon was basically useless.

Camped here 3 nights mid July 2021. Arrived in the area mid afternoon on a Thursday - Sugarloaf and Brooklyn Lake campgrounds were already full, so found spot here at Nash Fork. Campground was mostly empty. Most trees have been removed due to insect damage, but still scenic and peaceful, Verizon coverage was spotty at best.- occasionally able to send and receive text messages, but nothing more. North Fork campground had a few spots open but we liked being at higher elevation and closer to fishing lakes here. Would stay here again if other campgrounds were already full.

The site itself had a great view of the lake. Surrounding area had a lot of cleared trees and not the most amazing scenery. Sites didn’t give much privacy and made it really easy for people to walk through sites to get to the lake.

We did a drive-through to check this out. It's the only campground in the Snowy Range that's right off Hwy 130. It's a large, typical Forest Service campground, with lumpy parking spots. We counted 7 pullthrus, most sites close to each other; #7 is a back-in with more privacy. 2-seater pit toilets on each loop. In 2016 they're drilling a new well, so no water available. Saw several big rigs there.

I made a reservation 2 weeks prior to the 4th of July weekend. While I noticed one or two other campgrounds along 130 this is the only where you can make reservations. If you chose not to make a reservation, the rate is $10. Campsite 29 was pretty good. Adjacent to VERY clean vault toilet and dumpster. The dumpster had just been emptied so no flies or smelliness the weekend we were there.. However, no water. I had read a blog that said no water and brought water. The reservation site shows water available but for some reason not this year. Unfortunately the sites are not the bests for tents in my opinions. Very rocky - no tent pads. We have cots so it didn't matter. But it did take some searching to find a good spot to pitch our tent. We brought one bundle of wood but ended up gathering a lot of wood from the campground and nearby. We heard the nearby creek but we were further away from the road than others on the other loop (group loop was closed). They got more highway noise. But they did have more shade and trees. #29 was probably one of the most open sites as several trees had been cut down. I'm a T-mobile user and had pretty decent roaming coverage (3-4 bar) at this site.

We have been going to Ryan Park for 24 years and tent camped there for the first 15. Beetle kill really decimated this area and much of the Snowy Range. Like most places these days this campground now has many ATVs, people flying drones, loud/crying children, off-leash dogs, construction generators and inconsiderate people. I guess even the moose I used to see every trip has had enough as she was nowhere to be seen. The good? Water on-site, good cell service (is that a good thing?) and some privacy on the easternmost sites. Plus, it is $5 with the senior discount. The camp host is a good guy, but has no real authority. Toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen in a forest campground. The history of the place as a POW camp and CCC work camp make it a really interesting are to me and I will probably continue to go, but no more between Memorial Day and Labor Day. My iPhone said 3G, but my iPad said full LTE. Either way I could send texts and read emails. I did not try streaming video.

Large sites, no water yet as they need to test it. No time on when that will be completed. Lots of beetle destruction, piles of cut down trees at every campsite, not sure why they didn’t remove them. Stop at forest service station in Saratoga for hiking and 4 wheel trail information. It’s called the snowy mountains for a reason and many trails not open. Went to silver lake a short distance further on 130. CG closed as patches of snow in the CG. Walked around the lake, boggy but doable, lots of mosquitoes. Saw lots of fish. Stopped at Hacks in Saratoga, they offer float trips and fishing information. We paid $50 for a shuttle putting in at Treasure Island and exiting in Saratoga, we have an inflatable kayak. The Platte river is low at this time but still floatable. Don’t miss the Grand Encampment Museum. Tours and one of the best museums we have visited and we visit many. Donation suggested at $5/person. No maintenance seen being done on the overgrown grass.

This one is just too close and parallel to the main dirt road into this section of the forest. Lots of trucks towing toy-haulers or ATV trailers going by at relatively high speed, leaving big clouds of dust. Only 6 sites when we were there (2nd loop closed; seemed to be an outhouse issue), a 1-seat pit toilet (relatively new) and a dumpster. U-pump your water. 3 sites are backed into the trees and thus a little more sheltered from the road. Luckily the wind that day mostly carried the dust away. When the wind died, though, neighbor's generator fumes just hung in the campground and gassed me out. Literally. I had to go for a walk into fresh air after an hour of breathing it. Hand pump for water. No cell service.

Arrived Saturday 6/26. Park appeared to fill up around sunset. Clean pit toilets and fresh potable water available. Popular ATV area. We look forward to returning on a future trip.

We have stayed here 2 years in a row, and we hope to make it every year. Inexpensive campground and not crowded, sites are spaced adequently apart. Snowy mountain range is a good hidden gem. Views are amazing, plenty of hiking trails. When visiting here check out Lake Marie and hike the Medicine Bow trail.

Gorgeous stargazing. Plenty of sites to choose from. Neighbors down the way had generators running into the night. Overall nice spot, watch out for the prickly weeds on the ground! We had a picnic table and fire ring.

I really enjoyed this spot. I was able to put my tent right next to the stream. It sang to me all night. Neighbors were nice and quiet. Had a fire ring. Went hiking up the North Fork trail in the morning. Absolutely no cell coverage, so bring your books.

We spent 3 nights here, and loved all of it. There is a trail right out of the campsite that goes about 5 miles through forest and meadow. We did not complete the trail because it was getting late and we did not want to get back in the dark. The campsites are super clean. Big rigs are fine here. Many of the people we met had ATV's but they do not use them in the campground. The campground was about 2/3 full on a Friday evening. Next time we will tow the car so we can get to other trailheads and fishing spots. No cell phone service which was fine with me.

good sites , access to good hiking. Beautiful National Forest with fishing. Will accommodate large rigs in some sites. Access on dirt road doable with RV.
