I reached the city and stopped at the bustling Walmart in the vicinity. I'm pleased I referred to the information provided by Campendium as the camping area turned out to be quite pleasant. The chill weather towards the end of May made sleeping undisturbed. Upon my departure, I discovered a swarm of moths had made themselves at home in my van! Despite this, I wouldn't have minded extending my stay for a couple more nights. Payment was straightforward at the small structure visible upon entry.

The park is incredibly beautiful and offers numerous activities. I stayed there for one night on June 11th, 2023. However, the constant traffic of vehicles in and around the campsite during the night made it a bit loud. I also noticed chiggers in the grass, and upon informing a park employee the next morning, he mentioned they would need to reapply insecticide. Although it was bearable for a single night's stay, I would prefer a different location for my next visit.

There's ample activity to occupy a single evening here. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the petite body of water. It's surrounded by a fence, with various wildlife freely wandering about, including elk, deer, and three buffalo. While there's no electricity available at any of the sites, the adjacent park to the RV zone makes it a worthwhile spot to spend the night for a mere $10.

This is a very convenient campground that doesn’t feel like you in a parking lot as many quick access campgrounds do. Beautiful trees and relaxing afternoon was just what we needed to break from the high winds of the day.

What a great park! It was pretty busy while we were there with peewee football and it looks like the park is used by the community. The camping area is lovely with big trees and green grass. Paved/gravel sites. Ours was very level #37. Water and dump station outside the restrooms. Cars did drive through later, like around 11pm, and there was some traffic noise from the highway, but overall not too bad. There were 3 campers the night we stayed. Can’t beat it for $10!!

This is a City facility that is well taken care of. The pads are paved and level. This provides a great spot for becoming a base location for local site seeing. As a train buff, I was easily able to hop on my scooter and visit the nearby rail yard, Bailey Yard as well museums. The area was very quiet at night. There was some noise from the nearby thoroughfare but really not bad.

Just off the highway and close to services. Easy check-in. Easy hookups. My concern is the many large dead limbs overhead. If a big storm comes it could easily cause damage. They badly need an arborist\! We would stay again on an overnight. Verizon was ok.

This is a great place to stop over night, there is something for everyone to do. This park comes with a whole lot of things to see and do, we go from history, art, animal’s, tennis, golf frisbee, canoeing, and I’m sure there is more. $10 a night no hookups but there is water and a dump station by the restrooms. I can’t comment on the bathrooms I didn’t go in. What also made it nice was it was patrolled several times while we were their. Thank you to the Blue

$10. Dry camping. There is water and dump station next to the bathrooms. You park along the North Platte River. The park is fun! They have a locomotive train exhibit to go through. John is passionate about trains and is very kind. There are a bunch of playgrounds, bbqs, even a fireplace. Animals - bison, deer, birds, peacocks, etc. An ice cream stand. The kid park and carousel were not open when we walked around. Would have liked to stay another day and go to the Golden Spike Tower.

Everything about this campground was good except for the location, which was directly beside the I80 interstate. There was lots of highway noise! Otherwise, there were level sites, good power/water/laundry, and nice trees. The campground would be great if it could be picked up and moved to a quiet location.

I arrived after dark and didn't see any signs for fees or campground rules. The "free camping" app I used didn't list much information. After 360 miles fighting the wind on I-80, I was exhausted so I found an empty spot and parked away from a few other vehicles which looked like they were parked for the night. The next morning I saw a woman in a Class B parked a couple of spots up from me. Ten hours later as I left, I kept looking for campground rules and fee information but never saw any. Great free night stay for this exhausted traveler.

We pulled in after dark, and didn't have any trouble finding a spot suitable for a 35' Class A. The only problem I had was trying to find the envelopes so I could pay for the stay. I did not find any. I found the place to put the envelope if I had one. I just put my money in the container and called it good. The park is on the edge of town and is quiet. I didn't have any problems driving my large Class A RV through town to the park, nor did I have any problems driving a round down. In the "downtown" area there is a lot of neat shops. Also available is several coffee shops. We parked the RV just north of "downtown" in a large shopping center parking lot, and walked a few blocks to have coffee. I want to return to spend more time in town exploring. This is a hidden gem.

I didn't stay but just wanted to offer a couple things that may help others. My gps and phone wanted me to turn left on 13 th and then vine and keep going in a circle. The easy way to get directly into the RV portion of the park is to continue north on 83 to the RV area entrance which is across the road from the Parkview Community Church and right before the river. When you turn in you will be looking directly at the rv area and be able to go around it and exit with any size rig. It's an older park so some of the pads were rather short but there were a couple longer ones and a class A was parked there. The park is large with paved roads and a lot of area to walk or bike. An important thing, if coming from the expressway (80) is to pay attention to the low awning on the building at the corner of 5 th and 83. It may be because of widening the road over the years but there is a large aluminum awning that seems to stick out too close to the roadway. There are also short plastic poles along the center line. Google earth shows a 4 lane road in 2012 but right now it's 2 lane. N41.15274 W100.75910

Not far from I-80 and cheap, this is a perfect one night stopover. However, the campground is closed October 15th so if you show up on November 1st, like we did, you won’t be spending the night. If I recall correctly it opens April 1st. We headed over to Buffalo Bill CG, much more pricey.

Based on other reviews, we weren't sure we would fit, but, after talking to a local police officer who was cruising through, we found a spot facing the river. There are large trees for shade and lots of mowed grass for the fur babies to roll in. Be sure to check out the Golden Spike Tower just outside town.

Stayed two nights, one each on he way to and from Western Colorado to visit family. Was near half way between home in Iowa and Carbondale. Arrived after dark both times and left early AM. Great rate. Bathrooms very old and not very clean with no outside door. Great value for the price. No hook-ups so on return trip site next to us had generator running until at least midnight!

Old park with RV and tent sites, no hookups, there is a dump station, dirty, old bathrooms - no showers, and potable water available. We stayed on Labor Day on our way West to Colorado and came in after dark. Only a handful of sites were occupied and most were quiet. There were some bikers tent camping that were up late drinking and being loud, as well as what seemed to be local homeless or tweekers. One lady was filling up random buckets, jugs, and a rubbermaid trash can (I’m not kidding) with fresh water then proceeded to wash her face, hair, and a towel or two (or possibly clothing) under the fresh water faucet. Someone called the cops on them, probably because they were all so loud, but the cop wasn’t there long and they were still loud after he left. A camp site is $5/night so the bar for entry is very low, and, from my experience, you get what you pay for. If the bikers and the tweekers didn’t keep us up until about 2:30am, I would have given this place a 4 star review. Negative 1 star for small pads and gross bathrooms

A nice park next to a wildlife enclosure and nice view of the Platte River. Sites are somewhat cramped, but our 40' class A fit in the only pull through(site 1). A bit of traffic as folks were looking at the animals and getting ice cream at the concession stand. After dark pretty quite

This was our 2nd 1-night visit. We use it as a stop on trips from home to my parents. It's not fancy. There is no power and you have to lug water. The bathroom is well worn, but servicable. Sites are short and really close together. There's a major road nearby that can be loud. But $8. And it has a free dump station. The view is great. The grounds are very well kept. And it's part of a very large city park with wildlife viewing, playgrounds, walking paths and recreation opportunities. 9.20.2020 - Just as an update. I swung through here on the way back north while tent camping. The park now appears to serve as a place for homeless people to hang out during the day. I arrived about 4:30pm and was quickly approached by two different panhandlers looking for money. I also noticed quite a bit more trash strewn about, mostly fast food wrappers and pizza boxes. While I'd stop here again if we're in the motorhome, I can not recommend this park for tenting or soft-sided RVs. And be prepared for the panhandlers.

This is a city-owned park along North Platte River, and just north of an animal sanctuary? petting zoo? with exotic animals. When we arrived (on a Monday night) there were a few scattered tents, one of which looked abandoned and a camper with a well-worn jeep. It appeared most if not all campers were homeless. Site was close to a busy street so it was a bit noisy. Restrooms in desperate need of renovation. Since we were in a fully loaded RV we were not bothered with the noise, once we closed the windows, and we did not have to use the restrooms. Parking spaces are short but there is a free dump station. Cell phone signal (Verizon): 4 bars. Easy access to get back on the road again (I-80). It was fine for a 1 night overnight but would not want to stay there longer.

Winter check-in process is well documented and simple. An old phone booth at the entrance acts as a check-in station to pay for the site and get the information you need. Enjoyed that it was freeway close and acted as a well appointed and safe rest point. Was able to stream video off of campsite provided WiFi, but there were very few other rigs there.

We have a pull thru site that is adequate length for our 38' 5th wheel and truck. The park is clean and pleasant and well kept. Office check-in clerk was very friendly. The town of North Platte, Nebraska has nearby Wal-Mart, restaurants, and other typical stores. There is a Buffalo Bill trading post within walking distance. We are self contained, so I cannot report on showers. Campground internet is usable (1-2 GB download speeds) early evening for basic email and surfing. Both AT&T and Verizon appear to suffer from tower congestion in the area. We can get good strong signals on both, but even with using a 4GX booster and/or MiMo antennas, download speeds are dismal.

Well maintained campground; however, the bathrooms/showers need updating and cleaning! Laundry room was clean and well maintained! Had excellent Verizon cell service! WIFI worked well, which is much better than the typical campground offering WIFI. Picked up 17 TV channels over the air! Campground offers CATV! Right next to I80, so there is lots of traffic noise! Would give 5 stars if the bathroom/showers were updated/clean! Will stay here again!

We overnighted here while visiting family in North Platte. The park is clean and lined with trees. The staff is friendly as well. We were there in mid-October and it was $31/night for full hook-ups (however, the water was turned off due to the freezing at night). Cell service (AT&T) was slow but usable. Some traffic noise due to the I80 being right across the road, but not too bad. Back-ins and pull-throughs available.

Had a nice stay there .. As full-time rv'ers I thought our site was a little close to others but was easy accessible in and out.. A little road noise but that doesnt bother me... Friendly place... The pet area is out in the front of the place by the road which is a little hike from the camping spot we were in... All and All it was a great little place to stay for a over night or a week... Stores were all close by..Anything you needed...

Fun staff, very helpful and friendly. Gave us a discount for using cash of $5. Other reviews stated that the train was near and loud, but we really didn't hear it at night. We would definitely stay again.

Our reserved site was ridiculously hard to get into with a sewer orifice right where my left front tire needed to travel to avoid the right side of our 35’ fifth wheel from scraping a tree. Course it’s on a dead end so you have no choice. It shouldn’t take an experienced RV’er 20 minutes to get into a pull thru! Site 80 should NEVER been assigned to even our medium sized rig! The internet sign in was most cumbersome I’ve ever dealt with. Gave up on it. I’d return here, but I’d make sure that it was not site 80. Overall, the park seemed pretty good, but a critical part of their job is to put visitors in an appropriate site. They did not.
