We had full hook-ups (30 amp) and a back-in site that just fit our 30’ trailer. We were able to park our truck beside the trailer (very close) but our neighbor could not open all of his slides. He had slides on both sides and a tow vehicle- sites just very close. Everything worked, it is right across the street from Costco and only a few minutes drive to anywhere in Anchorage. Planes fly over the park all night. Not much else to say. It accomplished what we needed for a couple of days.

We broke a leaf spring 30 miles out of Anchorage and had to spend two nights in a hotel. I called Golden Nugget and they had not problems changing our arrival date. We also changed our plans and decided to leave Anchorage a day early and Golden Nugget was also able to accommodate this as well. No deposit was required so even if we had canceled it wouldn’t have been an issue. While the sites are fairly close together there is nice green grass and a picnic bench between each site. The rows are nice and wide marking it easy to accommodate big rigs. We were given a site away from the long term residents and instead placed near other short timers who were quiet. Car traffic noise was minimal. Air traffic anywhere in Anchorage is very noticeable.

Island Girl Walkabout
After reading reviews of RV parks in Anchorage, this seemed like the best option. It has average spacing between sites, is fairly secure and has a good location. Amenities include showers and restrooms, a large laundry room, and free Wi-Fi. It is located across from a Costco and near many other stores, restaurants and other resources. It is also about ten minutes from downtown. Not the best for walking doggies, as it is mostly gravel.
