It seems a new assessment is in order. Fleetwood is similar to many 'mixed' parks we've come across nationwide recently. Perhaps once a bustling mobile home park, it has evolved into a diverse park housing weary mobile homes, inactive RVs from various eras, and a handful of us temporary residents. We increasingly encounter parks like this, which appear to be an impromptu partial solution to the housing problem and, surprisingly, a feasible business model. However, the transient RV spots, which are limited to 8 and located next to the bustling (and noisy) U.S. 1, are mostly part of a friendly 'community'. The maintenance team seems busy and plentiful, and the office staff is efficient and supportive. Just don't anticipate a conventional 'RV Park'. We would definitely return, and the traffic noise tends to fade into the background over time. All but one of the temporary spots are pull-through and situated at the park's entrance. Particularly for larger vehicles, it's essential to book ahead to ensure you can manoeuvre into your assigned spot. The sites are narrow and approximately 60' long, with concrete pads and surrounded by worn grass. Stays can range from one night to as long as desired. Cell reception is reasonable, the two wifi servers usually support streaming despite the high number of residents - 7A and 8A have a clear view of a wifi antenna - and the laundry and restrooms, though a bit worn, are kept clean and functional. Receiving deliveries here can be a bit tricky, especially during the Christmas season with many substitute drivers unfamiliar with the system. The office doesn't accept deliveries, but regular delivery personnel know the site numbering system and will leave packages on your site picnic table. This could be seen as a security risk or a convenience, depending on your perspective. The dog park is small and not really a solution. However, if your dog needs to run around, Lovelace Park is a mile away and has appealing

Paid $45 a night for 3 nights. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). We arrived after hours but all the paperwork was prepped for us. Kinda tricky taking a big rig (42 ft 5th wheel) through the park to circle back around to the front row. Only the front 8 or so spots are reserved for nightly/weekly stays. The rest of the spots are monthly or annual with mobile homes in the back. We were concerned about being on the front row next to a busy road. It wasn't too bad. Most of the traffic noise died down at night and we only woke up a couple times to some sirens or loud motorcycles. Our site 1A was the first spot right by the entrance/exit and the dump station so throughout the day we did hear a lot of traffic going through. But not much at night. The sites are a bit tight next to your neighbor and on the shorter side. We fit our rig but the truck stuck out into the road for parking. There's enough room but it's a bit smaller. We stayed at this park because we thought we would want to be close to downtown Jacksonville. No particular event or anything we wanted to visit. We just didn't do much research so we figured being close to town made sense. After staying for a few days we probably wouldn't stay here if we did it again. There's just not that much to do downtown and it's kind of a dumpy city with abandoned buildings and homeless people all over. The beaches are much more exciting and even though they aren't very far to the beaches from this location, we'd rather spend a little less at the state park closer to the beach. It was nice being just down the road from a Walmart and Publix. We made several quick runs to the store. And we got Propane around the corner at Ace Hardware. Only issue was that our Verizon jetpack had a pretty weak signal. AT&T was better. Enough to do video calls and stream Netflix but not very quick at downloading and loading websites/email.

Served our purpose as we needed to be in town to visit friends. On a busy road, our concerns about road noise, wife is a light sleeper, were unfounded. The road seems to calm down as the sun sets. Mostly full timers with some very raggedy rigs behind the transient sites. All of the rigs near us were very nice. The staff lives on site and were very friendly. Check in was easy.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's right in Jacksonville so it was close to where we needed to be during our visit in September 2014. The majority of the park is either mobile homes or long-term RVers. The front of the park is for the short-term visitors. The staff was very friendly and all the amenities worked fine. The lots are pretty small so our neighbor's awning was almost touching our slides. Fleetwood RV Park advertised free wifi but during our stay it was unusable. Either it would not let us on or else once on, it wouldn't let us do much surfing before it stopped working. The RV park is located right off a main road so there is a fair bit of road noise and there's a train that passes nearby in the early mornings. If you're a light sleeper the noise may bother you. We'd probably stay at a different RV park a little further from Jacksonville the next time we're in the area unless we absolutely have to be close to downtown.

The main draw here is being so close to downtown Jacksonville. 20 minutes to downtown, and it would be faster if construction wasn't so bad on 95 right now. We were in town for doctors appointments, and it was much closer than other parks in the area. Any shopping you needed was 5 minutes away, including a great local market for meat and produce around the corner called Freshfields Farm. It's an older park, but very well maintained, with nice staff and full hookup utilities at every site. We didn't test the wi-fi, cable tv, or showers. The bathrooms looked a bit dated, and you needed a key to get in them, which is provided at check-in. The overnight/short term sites are all on concrete and close together, up front facing a relatively busy road, so if you're sensitive to noise that would be an issue. The other sites are behind that row, on grass, and are monthly RV sites. The RVs weren't in terrible shape for many being permanent, and we felt safe and welcomed walking our dogs anywhere in the park. If you have things to get done in and around the city, it's a solid option, but don't expect much room between you and your neighbor, or a peaceful outdoor experience. It's that utilitarian place to park near everything, that we all need sometimes.
