Christies Beach (Banyule Park) Campground

5165, Christies Beach
South Australia, Australien

On a sharp bend, on the banks of the Murray, this popular camping site has plenty of room to camp among the large established gum trees
Numerous cleared areas for vans/motor homes, well shaded, can be difficult to negotiate if recently rain has fallen. Being right on the banks of the Murray means there are all the river based activities available to you. From canoeing/kayaking to swimming, fishing or just sitting on the bank and watching time go by. There is also a reasonable launching spot for a tinny making this a great base for fishing trips on the Murray. Thanks to Peter for the updates Semi-dispersed bush camp ground on the high banks of the Murray River, well shaded by tall River Red Gums and Box with some wattle scrub. A little tired and worn. Can be dry and dusty. Small beach. Popular, being handy to Echuca. Facing flood plain forest across the river. Rated 4/5 Some good pictures are available on http://nannapopvic.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/7th-october-2009-christies-beach.html

Access
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there
Note: In good weather, the campground is accessible with a 2wd and caravan, however some muddy sections may require high clearance or 4wd in wet weather. Only about 7 km from the town of Echuca. Follow Pakenham/Goulbern Road until you pass through Echuca Village. Turn left at Simmiee Road and follow till the end -

Hi. I was there last May had 2 caravans in there. 1 24ft &1 20 ft. Was no problems geeting in there. Just drive carefully. One caravan was pulled by a 2wd territory. It was muddy in parts but nothing too deep that it was a problem. There was a couple with a cammper trailer and they were fine.Go and enjoy
