This is a huge, grassy campground on the edge of the Kangaroo River, near Kangaroo Valley.
This is an extremely popular campground during peak periods however they have a second site (normally behind a locked gate) that they open up during holidays and long weekends. You can walk in camp into that section anytime, and it is a good choice if you are tent camping and want a bit more peace and quiet. Kayaking / Canoeing This is a beautiful stretch of water and that is what we used to go camping here for. The water is clean, clear and calm. Being power boat free means you don't have to deal with the water skiers and jet skis and once you are away from the main campground, you usually have the river all to yourself. You can head upstream (left from the campground) for a few kilometres, all the way up to Kangaroo Valley or head downstream all the way to Lake Yarrunga were the wide shallow sections are filled with tall reeds. No wood, charcoal or solid fuel BBQs are allowed, and gas barbecues may be restricted during total fire bans.
This campsite is in Lake Yarrunga and Tallowa Dam A stunning stretch of water on the Sholehaven River right near Kangaroo Valley (about 200km south of Sydney). More Information...
