Easy access site, riverside electric 30A and water. Nice people. Great for pets. They have pet poo drop boxes and bags. Super clean bathrooms. The sites are not very private, but spacing is decent. Getting there you have to follow directions on their website to avoid the two low covered bridges. UScellular coverage 3 bars.

Our spot was off the river in a row. But we had enough space between rigs. We could walk our dog down away from the RVs for frisbee. There are are W/E sites on the river. You can kayak from the campground on the Ashuelot River. And swim too. We biked to Keene On the rail trail. (6 miles there and 6 back). There’s hiking At Horacio Colony. Chuck and Laura were really nice. They drove around to sell wood and talk to people. We are ready to go back. We really liked that we could kayak, hike, and bike while there. And Chuck gives out magnets if you do it all.

We spent a nice couple of days camping along the Ashuelot River at the Ashuelot River Campground. Our site was relatively private (many of the sites are nicely spaced out) and set in the pines on the back side of the campground. The campground is located very close to the Ashuelot Recreational Rail Trail which provides a great bicycle ride of about six miles into Keene, New Hampshire. There's some noise from a highway across the river, but it's still relatively quiet, especially at night. Our hosts were great and very helpful.

Awesome campground with two of the greatest host/owners Chuck and Laura. We have been coming here for years and always enjoy the time spent here. Beautiful river to float down or paddle up. Saw a bald eagle this past weekend while paddling up past the campground. Some site on the river, some in the woods and some in a field.

Our first stay at Ashuelot (pronounced "ash-wee-lot) River. We stayed in a water and electric site along the back of the big field. There are no trees separating the sites - all wide open - but it wasn't full when we were here and we had sites on either side open. Caught morning sun which was lovely. Big rolling field along the river fun for kids and picnics. Easy access to the Cheshire Rail Trail from the campground. Rail Trail is 6 miles to downtown Keene, a very nice little town (20,000) with a college which means coffee shops and great restaurants. This is a great base for exploring western NH, Mount Monadnock, and eastern Vermont town of Brattleboro. We will be back.

Labor Day weekend and the second time we have booked here . What a friendly clean and relaxing place. We have a motor home and my daughter and her family of 4 joined us and there was plenty of room on our site for there tent and to play games. . My husband played in the horse shoe tournament there and it's only a short drive , we also found a race track there for Saturday night entertainment . The kids rented a conue there and spent a few hours rowing with a little unexpected swim lol but had a blast . We have already booked for next year and can't wait . If your looking for clean friendly relaxing times this is definitely the place for you . Funny one morning while walking I said good morning to the owner and he said good morning Mary , I said do you remember everyone's name he said yes the important ones , well that makes a big difference when they are packed and still remember your name. If your reading this well then I hope to see you there next year 2017. Until then good by

This was our second trip to Ashuelot River Campground in Southern New Hampshire. Our first trip a month prior was in site #11 (our favorite site). We've since booked several more trips back for this summer. In their second year as new owners of this campground Chuck and Laura go out of their way to assure you a great experience. This is a very pretty spot with a large grassy field perfect for kids to run or play games. The tent sites along the river are great though we stayed in our fifth wheel rv on the other side of the field (with water and electric). These sites are decent size and until word gets out on how nice this place is, you will most likely have plenty of privacy! The bathrooms and showers are among the cleanest I've seen in a campground. There are some sites in a more wooded area as well that offer more privacy, a playground,, a nice rec- hall, and access to the Ashuelot River Rail Trail, either through the woods (maybe not for smaller kids) or through the neighborhood. We rode the trail to the college town of Keene and enjoyed a coffee (will power allowed me to pass on the fantastic bakery items!!) at a small local coffee house. Lots of covered bridges in the area to explore too. Just a quick drive to the Cheshire Fairgrounds too where they will continue the area's fall Pumkin Festival. Check the campground's website for directions, as you can't tow anything over the covered bridges, and most GPS devices will take you that way.

This is a great campground run by great folks, Chuck and Laura Mills. There is a central bathouse and dump station, and while two RV sites are full hookups, most are electric and water. Tent sites are also available, plus three small cabins. Amenities include a big rec room with pool table, ping-pong, and foosball, a small wi-fi game and reading room stocked with books, and enormous green areas for playing field games. The grounds are along the Ashuelot River, and the hosts offer a livery service for canoe and kayak floats along the river. If you didn't bring a boat, they have some to lend. Access to all the sites is easy, although the surrounding community has several covered bridges in everyday use that do not allow trailers or campers to go through. So don't follow your GPS to get there, but rather call and ask Chuck the best way to drive your large RV or trailer/camper to the site. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and wish we had had time to do more river-explorations. Our main activity was to hop on our bikes and explore the Ashuelot River Rail to Trail path up to Keene, and to poke around the small university city of Keene. There is another Rail to Trail that we tried, The Cheshire Trail, that shows it is bike-ready, but really is not, except for mountain bikes. Especially if you're there when the area has been experiencing rain, stay off the Cheshire trail until they get the ATVs and motorized dirt bikes excluded from having access.
