About AfriCamps Klein Karoo
AfriCamps tents provide an attractive accommodation option to those who want to get closer to nature without compromising on the comforts of home.
With all the comfort of a permanent structure, solid wood furniture, a spacious bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a solid wooden floor, they still preserve the romance and atmosphere of staying in a tent.
AfriCamps tents consist of a spacious open plan lounge area with a comfortable couch and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room area has a solid wooden table with enough seating for 5 people.
For winter months the fireplace will be the perfect way to warm up the tent, bringing in an intimate setting for you and your love ones.
Both bedrooms are furnished with a queen size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains an extra single bunk bed, so the tent will comfortably sleep a family of 5.
Tents are equipped with an air conditioning unit to keep you cool during those hot summer nights and a private bathroom with a hot shower cabin, washbasin and flushing toilet.
The private wooden deck at the front of the tent comes with comfortable wooden loungers from where you can overlook the peaceful natural surroundings of a working farm or beautiful estate.
When days get warmer you can pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a big outdoor living area. Here you can unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while enjoying the beautiful weather and taking in the serene natural beauty of the South African landscape.
Pets are welcome but AfriCamps must be notified prior to check-in. One pet per tent.
Set on one of the biggest Ostrich farms in Southern Africa, this AfriCamps location is one to experience. You will stay in one of our tents positioned around a dam that is surrounded by wildlife in their own natural habitat. Spot free-roaming indigenous game like zebra, springbok, blue wildebeest, kudu, impala, eland, waterbuck and nyala right from your tent *Please note that Oudtshoorn is experiencing a severe drought and low dam levels can influence the number of wildlife sightings at the dam. Do not miss the ostrich farm tour if you'd like a closer look at the ostriches and the workings of an ostrich farm. Ostriches are located on a separate area on the farm and are not seen in the camp.
The Karoo landscape and direct views on the Swartberg Mountains form the perfect backdrop to relax in the tranquil surroundings of this serene majestic farm. Oudtshoorn is known as the ostrich capital, housing some of the largest birds in the world. It is surrounded by mountains and each entrance to this dreamy town is laced in unspoiled natural beauty. Take a hike in the Swartberg Nature Reserve, explore the famous Cango Caves, or enjoy the lively town center with its quaint restaurants, bars and curio shops.
