Great spot for visiting Joshua tree! Nice pool and nice facilities! Note that this campground is a giant gravel parking lot

Good access from highway 62. Quick stop at the office to get our site assignment. Park is well kept but sites are fairly close together. Good, clean facilities: laundry, bathrooms/showers, game room, pool, etc. Site utilities were in good order. A little highway noise from Amboy Rd, but it didn't bother us. About 10 miles to Joshua Tree NP entrance, 20 miles to hiking. About 3-4 miles from restaurants in Twentynine Palms. Overall good experience. AT&T cell service was great - 4 bars of 5G, no problem streaming un-interrupted. Many HDTV channels.

We stayed four nights here and were pleased with how clean and quiet it was. Originally we only planned for two night but stayed four to run the A/C for our dog and cat while we were in the National Park. We enjoyed the campground's pool and hot tub and used the laundry center. They had a nice little store onsite, too. My only wish is that they had a recycling center or recycling dumpster (we recycled in the park instead). We would stay here again and loved how close this place was to one of the entrances to Joshua Tree National Park.

We needed to recharge our batteries and wait out some weather and a cold and stayed here for a little over a week. The staff is friendly, the park is clean, and sites are level. They have weekly and monthly rates available, and there are mostly seasonal snow birds staying here. We'd stay again as a stopover in the area near the park (it's about 15 minutes to the park gate, and 20 minutes to the Jumbo Rocks campground). The park is right off Amboy Rd, and we chose a back in site by the road so we could have a view of palms and mountains vs. looking out at other rigs, but it's not a super busy road and there wasn't much noise at night save from the coyotes. There are also pull through sites. Twentynine Palms has groceries and gas, but not much culture. If you're looking for restaurants, bars and shops you'd be better off looking for a spot closer to Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley or Palm Springs, we just picked it for it's proximity to the national park.

Close to Joshua Tree National Park entrance for some great hikes. Pool and spa area have been renovated and look great - loved the new look of the pool area. Even enjoyed the 9 hole golf course next door for a relaxing morning of golf. Evening stars are beautiful. Sites are level, easy to access. Showers and facilities were clean and well maintained. Check-in and out was smooth. Quiet park, staff was helpful. Visited last 3 years - in the Spring they had Saturday night dinners for a great price, that was a nice surprise! Plan to stay and relax longer next time.

We stopped here in late February after a longish day of travel from southern Arizona. The facility is generally well kept. The showers are great and there's a pool that looks clean, but isn't heated. There's also a hot tub that looks great, but hasn't been operational since at least early November of last year. I was told a part needed for the hot tub was only days away from arriving. Sure it is. My guess is people staying here are mostly longer-term and most likely have some connection to the nearby Marine Base. It's anyone's guess why they put up with less-than-stellar facilities. They offer a Good Sam discount, but make sure you ask for it. We received it for our first night (the person making our reservation on the phone asked if we had it), but when I extended our stay the next day, the lump who was assisting me didn't discount our two additional nights and told me I should have asked for the discount even though he had what I'd payed the evening before on a computer screen. He didn't offer to correct his mistake. Great Verizon coverage and an easy drive or bike ride (well-marked bike lanes) into Twentynine Palms for errands. Joshua Tree National Park is close by too. Edit: My wife, being infinitely more patient with incompetence than I, just returned from the office with our Good Sam Discount receipt. All's well...

Pool has been closed for months! They finished some repairs, removed all dirt in the bottom and refilled. Crystal clear for days and now cloudy again with “pump” problem. Whirlpool has been empty for months with no apparent damage or repair attempts being made. Sauna is also unavailable!

The proximity to Joshua Tree NP is great. The campground is clean and nice. We were in one of the pull-through sites which resembles somewhat of a parking lot. However, it's easy to get in and out, it close to the park and Twentynine Palms offers all amenities of a small city. As a base to explore Joshua Tree NP, it's a good, clean and safe spot. We didn't use any facilities, so I can't comment on them but our site was clean upon arrival. We would stay here again.

We have expensive ebikes on back so we wanted a secure, safe place to stay. We are just passing through so this was perfect. Nice hot showers, perfect area for walking dog. Of course due to covid- pool, hot tub closed. Just being an overnighter we got a very undesirable spot. Backed in next to road, no grass. Road noise quits at night. Quick in was a breeze.

We were coming into Joshua Tree National Park and needed a camp spot. Really wish we had gone to the KOA on the south side of the park. This location was expensive for such a poorly kept campground. We were assigned a site right on the road but when we pulled up there was the site neighbor that had parked his truck in our site... Not a big deal, I thought - I'll just ask him to move. Knocked on his door - he steps out of a wreck of an old RV and tells me he can't because his truck is broken down. Great. Now I have to go get another spot from the staff. They don't care... Just put us one spot down from him again. These sites are tiny, expensive (for what you get) and grounds are poorly kept. Go somewhere else.

As we drove through the desert we were looking for a place that had electric hook up so we could run our air conditioning. The temperature here in the valley in September was 109 F. I called ahead and Cindy answered and said yes there are plenty of sites available and there was electric water and sewer hook ups. She seemed pretty sleepy and said that they closed at five. We got there at 5:05 and the doors were still open, when I walked in she lamented that she hadn’t locked the doors. But then proceeded to hand me a packet of information about staying here as well as a way for me to just put my fees and information in an envelope in the dropbox since she couldn’t be bothered with doing the administration to check us in. This is a decent place in the desert. There is a road nearby but nothing too noisy. There are decent shade trees at some sites. The sites are relatively level with an asphalt pad next to it to put your chairs or table. The office and game rooms look to be adequate. They claim to have Wi-Fi but nothing reaches any of the campsites. Overall I would stay here again if you want to be near Joshua tree or just traveling through on your way to San Diego as we were.

Seems to be mostly an RV Park (we stay in a converted truck bed). Very tight quarters and not much privacy. People were nice and it was super clean. They have a hot tub, pool, sauna and awesome hot showers. A little pricey but worth it considering the amenities.

It is well passed it's prime though. That being said, the location is perfect, access to showers and the pool was nice. It was a good place to relax and venture in to Joshua Tree National Park. Water and electric hook-ups worked as expected. There is a game room that we took advantage of one evening, which was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some road noise from the highway that passes nearby, but not bad at all. We stayed here July 4th through the 6th, of 2019, after being on the road for eight days. We thought it would be a good place to rest for a few days, and recharge. I would stay here again as an over-nighter, but not a place I would care to spend a few days again. Onto the complaints: As I said, this place probably was pretty great at one time, not so much anymore. It's in a state of serious disrepair, with only the most used areas being kept up much at all. It looks busy at first glance, but it seems to be mostly used as an RV storage area now. Most of the spaces were full, but only three or four actually had any one staying there. There is grass poking up through the gravel and cracks in the pavement, everywhere. The areas that were intended to be common areas with BBQs, shuffleboard, and picnic tables are all heavily over grown and unusable. The bathrooms/showers are in good shape as long as you don't look up, because the ceilings and skylights haven't been cleaned in ages, and are full of thick cobwebs packed with dust and dead insects. The pool, hot tub and sauna areas are the same, great as long as you don't look up. The steel beams over the pool are horribly rusted, with the paint peeling back so severely that big paint chips fall off and into the pool now and then, and there are rust stains on the walls of the pool room, where water has leaked through from the roof. A fine place to spend a night, and I would use it for just that if we're ever passing through the area again, that's about it though. Far from what I would consider a "resort".

We are not really RV park people but we wanted to dump and fill our tanks, get a full charge, shower and do some laundry before setting off on a long trip- and this place was perfect for all of that. The park is huge and there are also cabins, there’s a ton of activities and amenities that we did not take advantage of. Their laundry room has 12 washers and dryers so I did not feel guilty at all about doing 8 loads of laundry there. The showers were nice enough but had serious temperature control issues you could either have burn your skin off or freeze to death and It would switch between the two without warning. WiFi only works near the office and gameroom so we never tried it out.

Fees: $43 a night plus $8.60 tax. Site 13. 10% discount with AAA or Good Sam on pre-tax total. Full hookups This is a pleasant oasis in the California desert. The sites have some shade and full hook-ups. The wifi operates only in a couple of the buildings. There are a number of features, however, including a room with a pool table, a pool, a large activity room, horseshoe pits, a laundry room and shuffle board. There’s a golf course right next to the campground. There are also cottages for rent here and what seemed to be some long-term residents. The restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. All in all a nice campground very close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

This is an interesting park. It sounds like it should be more than it is. Our first impression was a tired park. Sites are fairly tight with back-ins having bushes along the sides so you are packed in and pull through sites have a car width between them. We were in a pull though and were lucky the power on one side didn't work so we never had anyone on our drivers side and had a small trailer on the other side. The pull though sites are all downhill, some more than others. The RVs are parked on gravel with a concrete patio and a macadam parking spot. The concrete and macadam are broken and old. Each site has a small picnic table. This park was built before longer units with slides became popular. There is an indoor pool and spa. The park has a ton of cabins, not sure who uses them all. The long term residences are in the front half of the park which is nice. The park is right on the road so there is road noise and no site escapes it. They do have propane on site. The plus is its location, almost across from the road to the main Joshua Tree National Park entrance. The town is tired, as well, and mainly caters to the military. There is a large Marine training base a couple miles outside town. They do have a very nice Stater Bros grocery store. We needed to use our booster to get a strong enough connection. Data was weak. The park has WiFi at the office.
