Fantastic green space. A few areas are near each other, though divided by greenery. Ideal spots for cycling and strolling. Adorable coffee shop (visit their webpage for operating times) that offers more than just the essentials, along with outdoor seating for viewing sunsets. The staff is welcoming. Well-maintained washrooms and laundry facilities. This park is a secret treasure with more affordable charges compared to surrounding parks. Shops and eateries are in close proximity. The cost encompasses all additional features.

This place was drop dead gorgeous. We were looking for nearby campgrounds for a quick overnight to get out before the cool weather went away, and now we can't wait to come back! The nature is true old florida- We even saw a deer swimming in the water from island to island at sunrise. The park is quiet and the spaces are beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly as well. 5 stars and hoping we can go back again soon.

This place is nice, the sites are all about the same some bigger then others. Dirt roads. BUT there is almost constant planes flying over and traffic noise. What a shame, it ruins the place.

Choose camping site carefully. Ours, number 29, is very close to another site. Most sites are very private. Some pull throughs. Some very short sites. Our restroom is clean. Good showers.

This is a gorgeous campground but if you have a trailer or RV do not choose site 82! It is way smaller than other sites and there are two trees that will block your rig from the hookups.

A Life After Trauma
Gorgeous, natural Florida state park! The campground entrance is paved but quickly turns to packed sand. The entrances to each site are a bit narrow but the site widens at the back. Some of the sites are very short and would not accommodate our 30ft TT but this site had plenty of room. This is the largest FL state park we have visited (there are about 100 sites) so the drive around the loop is quite long. The dumpsters and dump station are at the entrance to the loop so we used one of the small cut through roads to keep from having to go around the whole loop. The site was level and we had no problem stabilizing. This state park has a large boat ramp and Tomoka trading post filled with the few odds and ends, tourist items, canoe & kayak rentals and beer for sale! We LOVED riding our ebikes through the large park and there are several walking/biking trails. We had no problems with connectivity. Hot spot connections: Verizon - Download: 30.6 Upload: 14.9 Streaming: 4.0 AT&T - Download: 11.89 Upload: 1.31 Streaming: 3.9. We will definitely return! The park is only 6 miles from Daytona where there are plenty of stores and places to eat. Go to Ace Hardware for propane refill. The drive in is beautiful with a tree canopy covering the road. Our TT is 12ft high and we had no problems with the drive but taller RVs may want to approach from the north.

Catching Epic
Narrow sandy roads to get to mostly private dirt campsites with a picnic table and fire ring. Thick tree coverage, very natural, trees a little sparse. View photos of each site on FL State registration website. All back in sites, except I think only one pull-through. Some noise from the main road along the west side but not heavily trafficked. 3 separate bathroom/shower buildings, dumpster and dump station located at entrance. Nice store at the boat ramp for supplies and kayak/canoe rentals to explore the river and intracoastal areas. Easy access being only a couple of miles from I-95. We had 2 bars of 5Ge service.

This is a great park if you’re looking to get away from it all. Nice kayaking in the Tomoka Basin and Tomoka River. Sites are nice sized and private.

Challenges can make a difference in how we view a campground. We loved the sandy roads and sites. The place reminded us of Anastasia SP campsites. Narrow road and lush vegetation might test your backing up skills. Fairly quiet for a campground so near suburbia. Several paddling options, biking in the park and in the area. Close to shopping and the ocean. Note there is no laundry facilities in the park.

While this appears that it could be a good kayaking spot, the roads are unpaved & so bumpy that if it’s not a dry dustbowl then it’s a sloppy mud pit. With a extended cab pickup & a small 20’ trailer, getting into site 45 (which was dirt/sand NOT gravel, as was described) from the narrow one-way road with a fence on the other side was no small feat-the group waiting behind us expressed appreciation for how my husband squeezed in there and also happiness that it wasn’t their spot. It rained almost our entire 1st day & overnight-we ended up leaving a day early. Cell service was great though!

First stay here, loved this place. Typical Florida. Lots are fairly close together but lots of foliage affords privacy. Lovely facilities, really clean. Some reviews on various websites stated good cell coverage. As a FYI - coverage was great for voice coverage but data sucks - even with a WeBoost. (On Visible)

We found Tomoka to be a smaller, quieter state park. It has a number of outdoor activities that kept us busy. There is a paved bike trail that leads from the park into Ormond Beach and from there you can ride anywhere. There is a kayak launch in the campground (or rentals at the concessionaire in the park). Fishing also appears to be a popular past time. There's not a lot of serious hiking opportunities though there are sand roads around the park that can let you get a few miles in. For the most part sites are well-screened from your neighbors, though I did notice a few noticeable exceptions in the inner portion of the campground loop. The brush is dense and commonly you won't be able to see much of your neighbors rig. The size of the campsites is about average for a Florida state park. Enough room for a trailer and tow vehicle, a pop-up canopy, picnic table, and fire ring. The sites themselves are hard packed sand. Ours was level side-to-side, though I imagine it was hit and miss on that. As others have mentioned, the roads are a bit narrow, though I did notice a few fifth wheels coming through. We had no problems with a 28 foot trailer.
