I Have A Small Camper. It’s actually an A-Frame Forest River. So I Can’t Judge For Bigger Rigs. But In My Opinion This Is The Best Campground I Have Stayed In. I’m Partial To The Mountains. So That Is Some Bias. But This Campground Is Clean The Sites Are Well Spaced Out. It Has Dark Skies. It’s Very Quiet. The Host Was Great. It’s Close To Things To Do That Are Relaxing. Don’t Miss A Trip Over To Burkes Garden. Big Walker Mountain General Store Is A Neat Place To Visit In with Fantastic Overlook Vistas. Lots Of Dirt Roads To Drive In Scenic Pastoral And Mountain Settings. The Campground Hooks Up To Long Distance Trails. Town is nearby but the setting feels remote. It’s Probably My New Most Favorite Campground.

This campground will fit big rigs but is not big rig friendly. The dump station across the highway is very narrow - this is also where you can fill your water tank for the electric only or dry camp sites. Signage on the highway is terrible and most GPS's are "challenged" with the exact address for the entrance. Interior roads are very narrow so watch for ditches when backing in. Clean bathroom and showerhouses. 30 amp worked fine. Able to get level on asphalt pad with nice grass space, picnic table and fire pit. Quiet and dark at night. All staff are volunteer, no "office" so know your site number before you arrive.

Stayed for 1 night while traveling South. Very quiet with spacious sites. Such a beautiful area! Campsites require leveling blocks, but not unexpected since it is in the mountains. We enjoyed a nice hike along the nature trail within the campground. Will definitely stay again, however will ensure heavy rain is not in the forecast as this campground is subject to flash flooding which would close the campground road.

The sites are nice size and a good distance from your neighbor. We really enjoy camping here. Trails in the campground and connects with 5 mile hike on the Seven Sisters.

Secluded and peaceful. Close to historic sites in Wytheville and the VIrginia “Claw of the Dragon” ( Viriginias version of the “Tail of the Dragon” in Georgia). Not much for kids to do in the park but there is a nice 1 mile Nature Trail that runs through the park. Beautiful scenic drives close by and a trip up to Walker Tower to view the valley is fun. Would definitely stay here again.

Stony Fork was a pleasant surprise; very spacious, green and lush, with a stream meandering throughout the campground. Friendly, diligent hosts and free firewood! The bathrooms are aged, but kept clean. Nicely paved with offerings of no/partial/full hookups. A very peaceful spot!

A wonderful small rustic campground for those who love the outdoors. Large, mostly level shaded, comfortable sites. Our site was a pull through. Some dry tent sites, some just electric, some water & electric. Some road noise at our site, but not bothersome. No frills campground but lovely; hiking trails, steams, accessible sites available, close to Route 77 & 81, beautiful environment, helpful camp hosts. Staff had been cutting down trees and kindly provided firewood at each site. Several comfort stations within a reasonable walking distance; nothing fancy but clean. So many birds! We camped at Stony Fork Campground in a campervan.

We had reservations for two nights, but we got here a day early, so we spent a night in site 19. Nice paved road, paved camping pads. Fairly level side to side, not as much front to back. Set up at both sites without blocks, so it is within an inch. Mostly wooded between sites so the privacy is good. The fire rings and picnic tables are nice. The tables are 3 inch thick wood, so they don’t move. Verizon at 19 was 2-3 bars, solid 4 bars at site 11. We were in Covid quarantine, so we did not check out the bathrooms. The road is nearby, but traffic is very minimal and not annoying. The dump station is across the road and is no frills functional. $2.00 to dump, but free if you’re camping. The best thing is the easy access from I77 making it a great stopover on a north/south journey. When we were here in early November it was 20 percent full, mostly one night stopovers, but also some groups of very nice young people tenting(been a long time since I tented in 30 degrees, but nice to see it anyways). Really had zero negatives.

This campground offers peace and quiet, large private sites, electric and water hookups, dump station, easy access to nature hikes and mountain trails and so much more. We stayed right on the (stocked) creek and the kids enjoyed playing in the water, discovering the wildlife and exploring the creek. The road is a single loop which is great for a casual work or short bike ride with the kids. There are both reservable and first-come first-served sites available. Even on July 4th weekend, there were multiple walk-up sites open. The mobile signal was excellent with 18Mbps down and 4Mbps up on Verizon. With easy access off of 77, we would absolutely stay here again for a quick overnight or for a week's vacation.

This campground is a remote location but still about 10-15 miles from Wytheville [WITH-ville], population ~8k. :) There are only 40 some sites here on 1 loop. The bath houses were old but very well maintained. There are 2 trails accessed from the campground; a 1 mile nature trail & a 15 mile trail. The 15er, Seven Sisters, per AllTrails is strenuous. The sites are well spaced & very few have a view of another site. We were here for 5 nights & found the place to be absolutely delightful. [rate paid was using Senior Pass]

I stopped here to visit a few miles of the Appalachian trail in Bland. When I went into Bland to find the trailheads, a couple of events convinced me that I was being followed by locals who recognized I was from out of town and intended to park my vehicle and walk away for a few hours. If it doesn't feel right, leave. I am disappointed but returned to this lovely park where I felt safe. The electrical sites are six more dollars, but I am set up for dry camping and used the camp shower houses. The campground is four miles off the highway and easy to find. The roads are well paved. The campsites are private.

Great campsite. #7 is the only pull-thru site but at least half the sites would accommodate our 45' Class A. Only issue not all sites have water at their site. Water is available but unless you would have an adapter, the spout does not have a threaded downspout to attach a hose. Also when we were here the dump statiin was temporarily closed.

We were here April 26-28, 2021 at site #19 - electric with water available nearby. A very peaceful campground not far from I-77. The price ($16) was with the senior pass - it is $26 without. There were some sites with no electric and water nearby, and some with both water and electric. We went on a nice strenuous hiking trail accessed from the campground. The bathrooms were typical national forest - a bit dated, but clean. The campsites were well spaced. On our side of the campground there was some road noise, but not much.

Arrived 4:39 on a Friday. Plenty of sites ( but it was raining) some sites have electricity only and some with water. Was a level site. Easy to back in. Got a discount with Federal senior pass. Had good cell service!
