We reached our destination tardily and departed around midday, hence we didn't get a chance to enjoy everything the park provided. However, we truly appreciated the parts we did explore. The park is located at the termination of a charming neighborhood and exuded a sense of security. The process of booking online was incredibly straightforward and featured pictures of each site. Upon our arrival, we dialed a number for assistance outside of normal business hours and received a gate code. The sites are well-maintained, paved, and adequately distanced to avoid feeling too close to the next occupant. Several sites feature a patio area with a view of the lake. The lake, although small, is stunning, complete with a beach and a walking trail. Nearby, you'll find restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. There are also reputedly excellent mountain biking trails which we didn't get a chance to explore. We would certainly consider revisiting. It's earned a spot on our list of top stop-off points for our nationwide journey.

Lovely campground tucked away at the edge of a neighborhood in a beautiful forrest. Relatively small park but a real treasure. The sites are mostly level, paved and well suited for multiple sized rvs. There’s a beautiful lake with the quintessential meandering walking path and a plethora of mountain biking trails for enthusiasts at every level of proficiency. The gates close at 5, but we were able to call the number after hours and get a spot. Our guess is this place fills up fast in season. Since our visit was in December, there were plenty of neighbors but plenty of open sites. Convenient to grocery stores, the highway, etc.

This state/county park was a huge surprise to us. We were coming from Missippippi and heading to Texas. We decided to stop here for a night since it was recommended. I wish I would have stayed for a week. The site we stayed in was just resurfaced with perfectly level concrete and views of the lake. We backed in and it was perfect. Some of the state’s best mountain bike trails are in this park, too. I don’t travel with a mountain bike but that is a nice feature. Lastly, there is a paved walkway that circles the entire lake for walking/running. We visited Duck Commander, from Duck Dynasty shows, and it was only 30 minutes away in West Monroe, LA. Ask the staff when you get there which sites have been recently resurfaced. They told us the site numbers, which was really cool.

I chose this stopover based on Campendium reviews and was not disappointed. Arrival is through a small, well kept residential area. The street ends at a gate marking the park entrance. I had called ahead and registration was fast and friendly. The campsite area is tucked away in this park which is well known for mountain biking trails. I don't know exactly how many sites where available. I estimate there were around 30 RV sites. Campers are free to chose their site. Those on the lakefront were mostly taken when I arrived though some were under construction upgrading to concrete pads and installing new utility hook-ups. We continued around the campground loop to sites located above the lakefront and backed into a recently updated site. This site had great views of the campground and lake area. It was only a short downhill stroll to the lakefront. The campground had great wifi which in my limited experience is unusual in a County or State Park Lake Parish Park campground is a beautiful setting. The sites are well maintained and are being updated to a high standard. Earl and I stayed one night passing through. This park is a great choice for a longer stay in the Ruston area.

Great mountain bike trails. All the sites are being refurbished a few at a time. Only downside is you can't reserve a certain site, but you can call and reserve a spot.

It’s easy to see why this park is Park of the Year for Louisiana. It’s clean and well-kept; has a walking/running trail around a small lake. Sites are level and paved; most have shade all day ( important when weather is in the 90’s!). Plenty of room for even class A; some pull-through sites. Only stayed one night but will return.

This is, without a doubt, the best public Campground we have ever stayed in. This Campground has wonderful facilities, is very well maintained, and just gorgeous! All the staff are remarkably friendly. Arrival was quick and easy, we called ahead for a reservation, then we were told to just drive in and select a site. Terraced sites near the water are beautiful. The price is GREAT considering that they have full hook-ups (W/E/S)! We will definitely stay here when we have an opportunity!

We stayed one night, arrived just after noon on a Friday and got the last back in site along the lake trail, there were more pull throughs abut it would be been tough.we have a 37ft fifth wheel toy hauler and imo the back in was tight with the paver wall across from our site but my husband and managed! Nonetheless we really enjoying the peaceful quiet of the lake. Our kids fished along the lake trail quite a few times (catch and release) and we enjoyed walking the lake loop with our dogs. The sites themselves were clean and nice flat concrete! Cannot speak to the bathrooms as we didn’t use them.

As others have said, this is a hidden gem nestled in a forest of conifer & deciduous trees. Very clean bathrooms/showers. RV sites have 30/50 amp elec/water/sewer/trash bins. Sites overlook a small lake that has fishing piers, a beach, roped off swim area. Lots of hike/bike trails and a pavilion. Many RV sites are elevated with concrete pads, wrought iron fence surrounding the site and pea gravel surrounding the pad and fire pit. Everything in the park is neatly kept up. Only (very minor) point of note was no over air TV.

The road all the way to the campground is completely paved. There’s a small booth to pay camping fees, which vary based on RV or tent camping. The RV spots were full when we arrived but they let us camp in our van in tent camping. The tent camp spots are secluded, with a fire pit, a picnic table, a garbage bin, and an electric outlet. Even though there were a ton of spots, it was quiet, peaceful and secluded where we camped. Take time to go around the lake path. It’s a beautiful stroll that’s truly magical when the fireflies start to come out. There’s a lot to do at the park, including a beach for swimming and a playground for kids. Apparently it’s also really popular for mountain bikers.

If you’re traveling along I-20 through LA, make some time to stop at Lincoln Parish Park. The camping area doesn’t have too many spaces and half of them are waiting to be updated (they work on 3 at a time), but the sites are right next to the lake. The sites were $25/night with full hook ups; concrete pads with gravel open spaces on the updated sites. Most of the them are back-in sites that overlook the lake. There are a few pull-through, but they looked not-quite level. Sites are not assigned, you pay then drive around the loop to find a site. We drove around 3 times to make sure we liked it and could pull in some of the sites weren’t angled enough for Nessy to get into. The lake has a great paved walking path around it with many chances to move to hiking paths. There’s also an offshoot to the really nice playground for the kids. Make sure to bring your mountain bikes, as the park has many trails to ride. We’ll definitely be back when not on a time schedule.

We travel full-time and have stayed at over 50 RV parks. This was one of the best places we've ever camped. Beautiful lake, the woods and trails are well maintained, the sites are recently updated, and it's a great price. Paid $25 for a single night stay. No discount memberships accepted. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Our neighbor said the internet was good but we never used it. Had no problems fitting our 42ft 5th wheel and full-size pickup on the site. We stayed in spot 23. It was a back-in level site with a giant cement pad surrounded by a railing on the back and sides. Beautiful view of the lake out our back window in the morning. We really wish we weren't on a time crunch just passing through the area or we would have stayed an extra few days and explored the trails and the park. There's a nice path around the lake. We heard coyotes the night we arrived and saw plenty of birds on the lake. Large garbage cans are located on the street every 100 feet or so. The city picked up the garbage in the morning with a commercial garbage truck. We walked up to the restroom/shower facility and it's very clean.

I didn’t have plans on stopping here but the weather started to turn and I didn’t want to take a chance driving further east. I saw that the park was highly recommended on Campendium. I would say that everybody was correct and that this is a wonderful park.

Access to the park is good. Signage is good. Pavement all the way to the park as well as inside. Check in was quick, pleasant and informative. This park is “First come first served”. You pay up front and then enter the park and choose your site. All of the sites are nice. I think the pull through or the back in along the lake front might be the most popular but this place is so nice I would be happy with any of them. The road into the camping area is a little rough in spots. Pot holes have been patched and a bit overfilled. Our site, 15, was a long pull through and it consisted of a paved pad with power, water and sewer placed mid way. It also had a table and fire pit. Most sites are reasonably wide except the pull throughs. Ours was not wide enough to walk on pavement with both of our opposing slides out. Some of those backing onto the lake had fenced barriers so one would not fall over the edge. This park is very quiet and peaceful. It is quite heavily forested so satellite reception may be difficult in some spots. We did have some OTA channels. The internet is the best that we have found that is included with the nightly fee. There are numerous hiking/biking trails near by. Please note: Bicycle riders MUST wear helmets. No exceptions! Rules are evenly enforced. This is a very well run campground. We had two to three bars on our Verizon phones. There are no restaurants or services within walking distance but the city of Ruston has most of the services one might need. We paid $25 per night and feel we were well served. We would return in a heart beat if in the area again.

We pulled into a beautiful wooded park, and were thrilled with the campground. On site was overlooking the lake, and the sites were spaced far enough apart that we had some separation from our neighbors. We enjoyed our walk around the lake, but since it was just a quick overnight stop, we didn't get the chance to explore the rest of the park or the campground amenities. We had full hook-ups, and the space was concrete and nice and level. We'd stop here again if ever in the area.
