Direct access to a beautiful beach in sheltered part of Great Taylors Bay, this is a basic but attractive and tidy campground.
Most of the sites are pretty level, although there is not a lot of grass if you are in a tent and most of the sites are well shaded by the large eucalypts. Swimming This is a great spot for swimming as the water is nice and clear and the bottom drops away slowely so you have plenty of shallow water for the kids to splash around in. Fishing Salmon, Tailor, Bream, Whiting, Trevally, Flathead are easily (relatively) caught around here, although you may have to do a bit of poking around the shoreline away from camp to get a quiet and deeper section. A friend caught a 65cm Trevally right near this campsite so it can be done! You can launch boats/kayaks directly from the beach. Pit toilets, picnic sheleters and fire rings are provided (bring your own firewood and drinking water).
This campsite is in South Bruny Island National Park Popular spot in Tasmania for bushwalking and camping. More Information...
