Warburtons Bridge Campground

3451, Glenluce
Victoria, Australia

Bush camping (no facilities) on the banks of the Loddon River.
Most of the site is a cleared level paddock, well grassed but open to the road and shaded by one fir tree. May be boggy when wet. Backed by a steep lightly treed ridge and facing state forest (Yellow Box and Long-leaved Bundy Box) across the gurgling stream. At the rear of the site the graveled access track winds round the hill to a secluded nook with space for 2 or 3 rigs, shaded by the ridge. This can be a pleasant camp but can be popular at peak periods. Large, pre-built campfire sites, you will need to bring your own wood.

Access
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there
From Castlemaine [B180] : South 8k on the Midland Hwy [A300] almost to Yapeen, left (east) 1k to Strathloddon, right (south) 4k on the Vaughan Springs Rd to Vaughan Springs, continue east 1.5k on the Drummond-Vaughan Rd to the Fryerstown Rd junction, right (south) 1.8k on the Drummond Rd, on the left just south of the Loddon River bridge.

Pleased to see that Findacamp does give info on suitability for caravans on listings (hopefully standard for all listings?), very important for those with caravans! Great website.

We stayed here 1/1 for two days, a nice campsite well cared for and quiet. Compost toilets clean along with the rest of the site. Not busy and very peaceful. A good site to explore the area It's first in best dressed but it's large enough to accommodate vans, tents and trailers

I just spent the weekend at this campsite (18 - 20 July 2014), I found it to be a nice and quiet spot even with a few other campers around. There has been a lot of recent rain and the river was flowing quite fast, however the camp was not at all boggy. It is also worth noting that if you continue south after the bridge for a further couple of hundred meters there is another smaller camp down a fairly steep track which is overlooked by the road. It would be large enough for 3 or 4 camps and had good access to the river. However I would expect this area to much more damp in winter than the main open area of the campsite.I rate this camp a 4/5 for this time of the year.
