We went there on May 17, 2022 and the entrance gate was locked. No notice, no explanation.

Dispersed camping along Merrill creek. Ok for Boondocking or tent camping. I like to sleep in a hammock and not many spots good for it. Not for larger campers or RV’s unless backed in a side road or pull off. Do scout roads first if you have anything larger than a truck. I got here after a rainy day and while the main roads are fine it gets marshy on side roads and especially near the river. A bit buggy. Sporadic passing vehicles. It is however a pretty spot with the river and hills.

These sites are awesome! Was our first experience boondocking, and we are officially hooked! Sites include a fire pit, all 3 sites we saw varied in size and seclusion. We tent camped and had an awesome time, we were able to pull our car right up to the site but it was a little muddy. It was fairly quiet, but you can hear the highways as well as dogs barking from across the lake. My husband fished from our campsite and had a couple bass bites. Overall an awesome little spot!

Drive down paved path and watch for gravel roads heading towards lake. There are multiple private pull offs on the lake with a great view. Sites are tight and are suitable for shorter rigs I am in a 4x4 f350 truck camper. Site was a bit overgrown with a small amount of mud but an area was mowed for a fire pit and seating area.
