8 Acres in the Santa Vruz Mountains 5 miles from the beach and Redwoods. All sites are full hook-up, pull throughs. Free Wi-Fi. Over 200 nature trees, plenty of shade contained fires ok.
Upon arrival, we were taken aback by the crowded arrangement of the trailers. Our allocated spot was number 39, situated right in the heart of the hustle and bustle. The space between the sites was minimal, with the neighboring trailer (and its sewer hose) essentially touching our picnic table. During the night, the voltage on our 30 amp hookup consistently dropped below 104, causing our watchdog surge protector to continuously cut our power. We were only operating a small 12v cooler, our refrigerator, and a compact 750w space heater. The following day, the maintenance team informed us that there was no solution to our problem, except to stop using the surge protector, which we were reluctant to do. However, the office personnel were accommodating and relocated us to site 4, a 50 amp site. This resolved our voltage issue and provided us with more room and distance from the park's central activity. This move salvaged our trip, without which we would have rated our experience with a single star. We prefer a more spacious and peaceful environment, so it's unlikely we'll return. However, for a large group of friends, the place would be suitable. The clubhouse and patio with a river view were delightful!

We stayed here for 3 nights after changing our plans last minute and the staff were super helpful. The site is really well laid out, the showers and bathrooms were clean and the wifi was outstanding!!

We loved our time at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the facilities were slightly dated, but clean and functional. The whole place is really well-kept and beautiful. At first glance, it seems the sites may be too close together, but once you're in your site...you're nestled between big beautiful redwoods forest trees...and we felt we had a ton of privacy. We felt like we were camping in the forest. We had a river site (you're above the river looking down on it...so pretty) and there are trails down to the water. There is a full-size steam train that runs through the forest just across the river in case you have a toddler in love with trains like us. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is about a mile down the road, and the Redwood Grove was so beautiful with huge amazing trees as big as those in Muir (some bigger). The little town of Felton is about one mile away; it's adorable, cute local shops and grocery stores (and a Safeway). There's a little "work from home" office in town in case you need a good work space with wifi. This park is about six miles down highway 9 from Santa Cruz. There's so much to do around here (state parks, Monterey, etc) and this is a great location. We were sad to leave these big beautiful trees. One of the best parts is these huge old trees that have died are amazing forts, hide-outs, etc for our kids...they had such a great time riding bikes, playing with other kids here (super family friendly) and climbing all over these tree stumps. My only complaint was the $85/night...but we had a fabulous time regardless.

Lovely wooded setting but very tight spots. Our small trailer fit fine in a pull through but big rigs could have issues. Lovely pool , nice bathrooms, and big laundry facility. The house wifi is virtually non existent, but you can pay 6 bucks per day for decent speed. We opted to use our hot spot as cell signal was good. The park is clean and well run with the staff friendly and efficient. Santa Cruz and the Redwoods easy to reach by car. Overall, not our top choice but did the job.

Like others have said, it’s an old, somewhat rundown campground. Getting into campground itself is a bit challenging for big rigs. Sites are narrow. Only 30 amp. Pool , laundry area looks good. Convenient to area. Way overpriced but this area is.

I'm giving it 2 stars because the staff was great and the. Heck in was easy. But the sites are small and neglected. This is a trailer park that thousand trails are renting a few spots. The long term tenants looked at us like we had the plague and are not friendly. The trash bin was not picked up for 2 day and overflowing.

Discriminate against a dog just because it’s a certain breed? Pretty sad. Can’t give a single star to a campground like this. Was forced by app to give one star.

Santa Cruz Ranch (Encore/Thousand Trails) – Scotts Valley, CA We stayed here for a week in April/May 2019. This is not a very pleasant campground as the sites are very small, many long-timers have lots of junk around their sites and it’s very noisy. We had site 10, one of the 26 pull-through sites. It was very short and not good for a larger rig. We barely had room to park our little tow car. The site was paved but not level, FHU but only had 20/30 amp and had a picnic table. We had cable but the wifi is limited to 10 minutes unless you want to go into the rec room. The pool is heated and was very popular. The woman in the office was delightful.

This park is located in a residential and small office buildings. Clearance was very low at the entrance and had to go in the exit to avoid low branches. Sites are super tight and we were told that we had to have our entire Rv including slides within white lines. If not the fire marshall would ask us to move our RV. Staying within the lines is impossible and we never did see a fire marshall. Navigating into our site was challenging and we did not have enough room for our truck. We hung over into the road which makes parking for others a challenge. The pool and spa were nice. Laundry and showers were dated but very well maintained. Lots of long term families live here. Kids everywhere which was ok. Just take care when driving within the park. Two great places to eat just right around the corner. Mallonies...great food but poor service and Aunt Mames which has excellent breakfast. Would stay here again if no other options available.

As a previous reviewer said, access was tight even with our 28ft trailer. I managed to scrape the block wall on the right side when I pulled in front of the office. There was no damage except to my ego. Later, it took me a couple of tries to get perfectly lined up in the space but no biggy. The RV neighbors were very friendly on both sides. There were plenty of kids having a great time so you had to go slow and keep an eye on them. We very much liked the area which we thoroughly explored. To us the Big Basin Redwoods State Park (north of Felton, near Boulder Creek) was a rare gem of a park. Closer to the campground was the covered bridge, another redwoods park and the botanical garden at UCSC. While there we promptly received a couple of Amazon orders. We stayed as an add-on to our Thousand Trails membership. We hope to return when we are in the area.

This park was apart of our RPI membership, which is why our costs were so little a night. Lady who checked us in was super sweet and friendly. She put us in a preferred site that was next to all the amenities. Park is small and sites are snug (we’ve experienced smaller), but it doesn’t feel like your neighbors are in your slide. Bathrooms and showers are clean and the hot water is plenty. Pool and hot tub are awesome and they even have a rec room that the kids enjoy. Location is convenient: 20m from the Boardwalk, 5m from Safeway, 10m to Redwoods. Pet and kid friendly.

Visiting family in the Bay Area for New Year’s, we were unable to get sites at our usual state park (New Brighton), which led to a lengthy search to find a decent alternative. Other public sites were all booked, and the reviews of most private RV parks near Santa Cruz were a bit… well, terrifying to be honest! So we booked here with our fingers crossed. Overall, the experience at Santa Cruz Ranch exceeded our expectations. The laundry, pool, and bathroom facilities were obviously well tended to. We had full hookups, including sewer connection, right at our site. And the location was convenient both to local amenities in Scott’s Valley like grocery stores, and to the city and sites of Santa Cruz. Given what real estate costs in this area, it was no surprise how densely packed the campground is. This is exacerbated by local ordinances requiring a minimum distance between RVs, as well as a 5-foot setback from hookups. We found it tough with a small travel trailer, so I can’t imagine trying to navigate this park with a larger RV. Those quibbles aside, we recommend anyone visiting the Santa Cruz area consider this park as a good option for an overnight with hookups, or a longer stay if you will mainly just be using the campground for a place to sleep while you explore everything nearby.

This was our inaugural trip with our new Airstream FC 27. Kind of a 2-night test run within reasonable drive of our house. We do not like crowds so I knew the proximity of people was going to be an adjustment for us. And it was. Had trailers backed up to our side within 10’ of the side of our trailer. But everyone respected the quiet hours, and were all so nice. We dealt. Our 2 dogs also dealt on their maiden voyage. And the redwood groves throughout the campsite are really pretty. Felt like we were really away even though we were only 3 hours from our house. Plus the Henry Cowell park down the street was gorgeous with beautiful walk options through the redwoods. But generally this park was not a scene for us to return to. We are likely going to gravitate toward boondocking where we can be MUCH more distant from our neighbors. But the site was otherwise pretty, clean and quiet at night. With friendly people.

Life Rebooted
This was one of our favorite RV Parks since arriving in California. I wouldn't consider it a "resort", as there are no hot tubs, tennis courts, etc., but we prefer a more natural setting and Santa Cruz Redwoods fit the bill perfectly. It's more like an outdoor camping experience (including a large section for tents), with many families having campfires nightly, kids playing, people walking dogs, large groups sitting outside together enjoying the weather and the surroundings. We took our dog down to the river that runs along the campground so he could enjoy a bit of swimming. You can also wade across the river (ankle or knee deep depending on recent rains) directly into the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park with all its trails. If you don't want to wade, the entrance to the state park is a mile down the road from the campground. We saw no full-time/permanent RVs except for the camp hosts, and every site we saw was tidy. We were lucky in that our site (#61) was very spacious, but some other sites looked pretty tight. The downside to our site was that it received almost no sun due to the tall trees, and it was chilly all week in April 2015 in the shade. Some of the sites get sunlight, but not many. I imagine in summer the shade is great. The manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way multiple times to accommodate us (we were a last minute arrival). The nearby town of Felton is small but very cute and has all the necessary amenities. We'll definitely return, hopefully in warmer weather!

Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort was such a surprise, under beautiful redwoods. Our site was level and clean. The park is laid out in kind of a puzzle, so site size varies. Staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful. Henry Cowell State Park is a short walk away and is really something to see. The sound of the river and steam train adds to the feel of truly being in a redwood forest. Wifi was great they have about eight routers throughout the park. No complaints here, we would definitely stay here again.

This is a great little park surrounded by Redwoods. Very shady. Everything was clean and well kept. The staff was very nice as well. It's pretty packed in but typical for a private park. Strong 50 amp FHU. Basic cable and they provided wifi but I didn't use it much as my hotspot was faster. Verizon (37mbps), ATT (21mbps) and T mobile (5mbps) all worked well w/out a booster. The location can't be beat with about 15 min drive to Santa Cruz. They had a laundromat onsite but I had too much laundry so I used Felton laundromat which was excellent. Great shopping and grocery stores nearby. Downtown Santa Cruz is really nice as is the boardwalk. There are multiple dog friendly beaches but you do have to do some research as they are not all dog friendly. There is also a good state park right down the road with hiking trails. Follow the directions on the campground's website because Hwy9 is not RV friendly.

This is very scenic for a private park, the Redwoods are great and the river running alongside the sites is nice. The drive down the mountain to Santa Cruz was a quick 15 minutes and the small town of Felton was less than 5 minutes with a great natural grocer, pharmacy, etc The laundry room was spotless and the machines worked great. The biggest downside is the sites are really on top of each other and rigs feel crammed everywhere when the park is full. During the week it was tolerable, but by the weekend it felt like a tailgate party. For this reason alone we’d likely look to try a different park in the area when we return. The park Wifi was crazy fast on weekdays when the park was half full and supported streaming. Once the weekend hit and the park filled in it became entirely unusable for stretches. The system could use an upgrade to a mesh network rather than individual routers spread throughout the park.

Pretty, clean, well-kept park with redwood trees throughout and nearby creek. My site was. not level, took some work both side-to-side and front to back. Redwoods provide nice shade when it's hot. Paved roadway makes for easy walking. For a longer walk it is difficult since access road has not sidewalk and very little shoulder. Two nearby neighborhood streets helped. Good AT&T cell coverage. Nearby public parks. Santa Cruz 20 minutes away. Be sure to follow the directions on the resorts website, access on highway 9 is difficult if you come in the wrong way. Google suggested a shorter reasonable route for an automobile, not an RV.

We stayed here late in February. The park was pretty full of campers but we had decent privacy. Full hookups and sites that were easily accessible. We had an easy contact free check in and actually never had a need to contact any staff there the three nights we stayed. Our site backed up to the nice little playground, which was close enough that we could watch over our kiddos playing on the playground while relaxing in front of our trailer. They will deliver a rentable fire pit and wood if you want, for a few of course. We enjoyed being under the tall redwoods and took a hike in the giant redwoods at Henry Crowell state park, a two minute drive away. Overall, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. However it looks like the summer rates are a little pricier.

Stayed here for 3 nights, and the location is fantastic. There is something magical about being in the big trees. As others mentioned, the sites are crazy close, and there are a lot of people. It might have been spring break, but there were lots of families with kids and gear, but everyone was very respectful and kept to quiet hours. Kids looked like they were having lots of fun and not rowdy, just lively. I ended up working off the wifi and occasionally has to switch to cellular for video calls but everything was fine - especially if you just need to be on email and have a few audio Zoom calls. Staff was very courteous. Note that this site is the only one without sewer hookups but you can pull into any empty site to dump as needed (saw about 2-3 rotating empty sites daily during my trip). No walking trail to Henry Cowell, but it’s a short drive away and you can park on the side of Hwy 9 to avoid park parking.

This place is well kept and almost every campsite is covered with tall redwoods, plus there's a river that runs along some campsites. The internet works well and you are close driving distance to Santa Cruz, the beach and other parks. It can get chilly as the trees block most sun so bring lots of firewood. Some of the hookups are in funky places, which may place your RV too close to another. The train whistle during the day from the local Roaring Camp Railway is a nice touch. I recommend reserving a ride ahead of time and climbing on board. The most popular sites are 25, 49, 19, 20, 44, 74, 62, 10, 81, 41, 42, & 23 according to the front desk.

We were in and out pretty quick, but the location was great, campsite was good and the park was very clean and family friendly. Most sites looked like they were on top of each other. Ours was not, but it was also next to the Office, so lots of idling trucks during the day as folks checked in or were leaving. The best spots looked to be the ones by the river. They have wifi, but good luck getting anything done on it. My t-mobile phone said it had 1 bar LTE, but nothing ever loaded. Santa Cruz is just down the road. Henry Cowell is across the river, but you need to drive up or down the road a bit if you want to get into the park.
