Great spot to spend a few nights. We unfortunately were only passing through the area. The reservation process was easy to make online with a quick follow-up call from the office. Upon arrival, we checked in and were provided a detailed map to assist in finding our home for the night. We had a waters edge spot (+$5). It provided a clear view of the river. Our site had a picnic table on grass. They had a vehicle wash station and garbage dumpsters as you entered/exited. The campground itself is clean. They also have Cabins and a buffet restaurant onsite. The park wifi was not good but our Verizon signal was great! We would stay here again. Price is expensive but so is AK.

While Fairbanks may not be Alaska's prettiest city, it had a lot of great things to do outside of the city and after the long road we needed rest, and to refresh our supplies in the city. If you book ahead, get a river spot, site 15 at the end of the row were on the river, we got spot 1 because we didn't book ahead. This place had a car wash which we badly needed after the last 200 miles of the road getting to the Alaskan Border is poorly paved and under constant construction. We also did all of our laundry here, wasn't the cheapest, and there was a restaurant on the water within walking distance. Spots were side by side parking style. Bathroom Rating - Poo - tastic!

This is an okay Campground on the banks of the Chena River. Sites are pretty level gravel with trees and bushes between. Gravel roads. Nice store for souvenirs, t-shirts, etc. Expensive laundry. Noon check in and do not try to check in 15 minutes early; they will not let you. Staff not overly friendly, but okay. We had a full hookup site, but our sewer drop was practically under our neighbor's picnic table. Lots of big rigs. Pretty clean, neat place. Our sitting area was very small because of bushes and was mostly dirt. Site held our 31' of travel trailer with a few feet to spare, but not enough room for our F150 to fit except sideways. Would we stay here again? Probably. Would I highly recommend this place? Probably not. The cable TV did not work well. Good Verizon and AT&T coverage and we could stream Netflix using our Mobley and Amazon Firestick. My PI EMS says the power is good, but the voltage did down to 109 volts once in a while.

We actually needed a hook up for our air conditioner in mid 80s temperatures. We made reservations but may not have needed them. On a Friday night in July there were maybe as many as 1/4 of the sites open. This is a full service rv park so there are several features that might be helpful, particularly to people who have been on the road for a while. Laundry, Showers, RV wash stall, internet, and cable are some of the things that come to mind. The cable didn't work while we were here but they still charged us the super site rate. The internet didn't work for a while, but when it did the speed was decent. There are discounts for Good Sam, Alaska Residents, and Military.

We have stayed here a couple of times, and have been here other times just for daytime recreation. A paved bike path can be found, that will take you all the way back into North Pole, fishing and swimming in the lake, or fishing in the river can all be yours. We always stay on the river side as there is less people and less mosquitos, and if there is a fresh batch of mosquitos around you better have some indoor shelter to get away from them as they will try to carry you away. If you get there after the main camping season, there is no charge yet the gates always stay open. As the other poster said, you can get a annual camping permit, however they do limit the amount of days you can stay in one month, however it could still be worth it as the reason for the limited stays at one time is to keep people from moving in. Eielson Airforce is nearby, so jet flight traffic is normal, and sometimes you can be rattled by a sonic boom so consider that your warning.
