A delightful location to reside. An attractive ranch and land for strolling. Ample convenient parking spaces available! An excellent spot for exploring Savannah!

Our choice of the Red Gate Farm Campground for our sojourn in Savannah left us extremely satisfied. The campsite was rather compact and lacked much shade, the only downside that comes to mind. Regardless, the petite camping space was nestled within expansive, stunning farmland, home to horses and ancient oak trees which, to me, bore witness to Native Americans, 18th-century settlers, Civil War soldiers and more. Red Gate Farms was the ideal location for a stay in a city steeped in history like Savannah. We've created a video about this campsite on our YouTube channel, Summertime RV Rovers, titled "From Savannah Through St Augustine To Florida". We encourage you to watch it for yourself. Our stay at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort was in a Motorhome.

This park is great spot to explore Savannah from. It was easy to find and navigate (it's pretty much a big square field that you park along the edge of). The lady in the office was super friendly and helpful. The sites are gravel, and ours was level and had full hook-ups. There is a dump station in the middle of the field, and they will pick up your garbage from your site. There is a club house and exercise room. The bathrooms are in what looks to be a house converted to an office etc, so they are like using someone's bathroom in a house. They were clean and had a bathtub/shower. We were told there are horses that you can approach (but not feed), and there are apparently lake view sites, but we didn't walk over to that side of the property. The park is an easy drive into Savannah, and it only cost $14 to get downtown by Uber. Driving is easy, as well, and there is parking at the Welcome Centre downtown. From there, you can walk or take the free transit around downtown. There are also 3 tour trolley companies, and one will come right out to the park and pick you up. Of course, you also get a discount for that trolley. We loved Savannah, and we would definitely stay here again.

Our rate was with Good Sam discount. There are horses, goats, chickens and peacocks, but it is mainly a horse farm. The sites all are full service, gravel and level, some with shade others in sun. The pool and all facilities were clean and well maintained. Laundry was honor system $2 per load. Short drive to downtown Savannah and will stay here again when visiting and I don't hesitate to recommend! BTW good WiFi!

B3 is the best spot in this park. It is private and overlooks a large well cared for horse pasture. This full hook up site is on grass, surrounded by moss covered trees and easy to back into. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. We had one bit of trouble. A one night camper in a camper van (is that really an RV?) pulled into the site between us and the office/shower building. When they pulled out the next day they pulled straight through the wooded area behind the office instead of backing out of their site. By doing this, the ran over the main water valves for the campground. All sites lost water. The staff restored most but our site and a few near by were without water for the overnight period and into the next day. The office showers did not have water so the staff directed us to another building with showers. Problem was that they had a large wedding running and we could not access the showers as they were used by the wedding party. So no showers. But I always carry some water on my Airstream so we could cook. Just not enough for showers. RedGate made it right and did not charge us for the last night stay. Class act. Also they told us they will be sending the plumbing bill to the hit and run campers who took out the water valves. Could not have had a better site and now we have a story to tell as well.

We had a great time riding our e-bikes around the campground and seeing the horses, surrounding area, etc. THe spots are in great shape, roomy, and level. The fire pits were cleaned out every day by someone and they pick up your trash at the site...put it infront befoer 9 AM. The ONLY downfall for us was the loud train in the distance every night ! You could hear the train horn and train cars banging into each other. A great staff, and beautiful place to stay, just be ready for train noise.

This is a small RV park but the staff, grounds and amenities make it a great place to stay. The grounds are very well kept and they offer a happy hour on Tuesdays. It is clean and about 15 minutes to downtown Savannah. Access to highway is close and you may hear an occasional train.

Made reservations online and it was very simple. Location was easily accessible for any size rig. Property is huge and immaculate. The sites are fairly level and have everything you need. The main office has 24hr access to laundry and bathroom w/ shower. Horses, Goats, turtles, trails, ponds - all accesible to guests. Wifi was not great for working purpose. Verizon had 4 LTE bars. Starlink worked GREAT.

We spent 3 nights here and felt like we were home. The showers and laundry room are in the main’ house’ and felt like someone’s home. $2 for wash and $2 for dry. The staff were friendly and informative. Great internet and 4 bars for Verizon. Plenty of space between sites. Uber was $12-16 to go into historic Savannah, but Old Time Trolley does a9 am pick up and 4pm drop off if you sign up for their tour. Use Good Sam discount.

I think we set the bar pretty high this was our first campground we stayed at in a six week journey. My wife had to work during our stay and we had a Wi-Fi repeater right behind our site so we got excellent WiFi. Plenty to see and do around the campground. It was about a 15 min drive to most areas of Savannah. Uber was about 15 dollar each way. There is a train yard nearby so you can hear trains all throughout the night but nothing that kept us up.

We were pleasantly surprised by how cute and pristine this campground is. It was a very small campground, but the grassy sites were decent-sized. The grounds can have several weddings they are hosting at a time - two while we were there and we didn't hear a sound. It was a beautiful farm to walk around in. The horses and buildings are beautiful. It's not a place we would stay for an extended stay but it was perfect for 2 nights. We'd definitely go back if we wanted to visit Savannah again.

Brought our bikes and loved riding around the farm and trails. Sites very spacious, except ours which was squished between two others but still never felt crowded due to the ample space close by and not a large campground. Not many folks stay long, over our 7 days our neighbors changed out 2-4 times on each side of us. Close to downtown and tourist stuff, but we really enjoyed the quiet of the farm. Went to pool several times and it’s beautiful and clean. We forgot our travel wifi but had no issues using our smart TV to stream using guest wifi. No buffering. The weddings and events were quiet, never noticed them and the train noise in other reviews seemed strange to me as we never heard it unless outside and it was still not very loud. I’ve heard much worse! All of the employees were nice and helpful. Would stay again

Red Gate Farms is a beautiful property right off Chatham Pkwy. They provide large, grassy sites with firepits, clean bathrooms and laundry and friendly staff. You can walk the approximately 3/4 mile loop around the property and see goats, horses, and several ponds that encircle the farm. It close proximity to Savannah is an easy drive, Uber ride or even a trolly will come pick you up for a Savannah tour. The only drawback we found was the night noise. Red Gate Farms is not only a campground, it is also home to several venues that host weddings and other events which can be noisy in the evening. Also, because of the proximity to Chatham Pkwy, road noise and sirens also tend to seem louder at night. There is also a train that rumbles nearby and blows its horn all hours of the night.

Campground as a part of a farmlike concept. Great spot to explore Savannah, if you like by hop-on-hop-off tours that starts at the campground. First night we were in a dry-spot as we had no reservation, next day at the main field with only 21 full hook-up spots. Very friendly, helpfull and service minded people at the office. Only minus the wreighttrain at 04:45am sundaymorning.

It is tough to give this campground five stars given that we payed $27/night (with a goodsam discount) for dry camping however it turned about to be a perfect little gem very close to downtown Savannah! The campground is just one piece of this family run farm. Think chickens, roosters, horses, goats, geese and peacocks! We spoke to one man running the property and he generously gifted us fresh eggs from the chickens that morning (which were some of the best eggs we have had)! Make sure to spend time walking the property... Explore the beautiful Mackey House in the back and the nice barn which is now used for occasional events. One morning I ran along their nature trail towards the back of the property which will circle you around a few nice ponds. They have tons of other amenities including a clubhouse with a pool table, big screen tv with cable, workout room and even donuts some mornings :) Highly recommend this property if wanting to explor Savannah. I might even recommend staying off grid. The actual campground is pretty wide open, not much privacy.

Stayed here for 2 nights in April 2017. Like others, we really enjoyed our stay. Our site had water and electric and it was on an adjacent field (next to volley ball court and game room) to the field where the other campers were set up. I was fine with that since it afforded us more elbow room. They sell propane on the property and I appreciated how well run the cg is. In the morning between 8 and 9am, you can leave your trash by the road leading to your site pad and they will pick it up for you. Our site was set up for 50amp service so the friendly lady in the office let us borrow a converter for our 30amp connection. We had a view of the nearby lake and our dogs loved frolicking in the grassy fields by the lake. We enjoyed sitting and watching the geese and ducks in the water. There are also other cute animals on the property. Got a chance to meet the goats, pony and baby bunnies! 🐰 With the warm weather I took full use of the pool when I could. It was a good size, clean and very refreshing! Loved our stay! We were able to uber into Savannah easily. Roughly $18/way.

Red Gate will be our go-to camping spot for all of our future Savannah visits. It was an easy 5-10 minute drive to the Savannah Visitors Center. The family run farm was clean and had a wonderful staff. It was interesting and beautiful. Our dogs loved the farm animals. The wi-fi was fast and consistently strong. Our favorite sites were B3, B2, CHL and 17. Our site, D2 has full hookups, is in the trees and overlooks the horse paddock that is next to a large grassy area, but it is on dirt with no grass which was not ideal with our two dogs. Site B3 has the same beautiful view but is roomier, is more grass covered and is much more private than site D2. .Both sites D2 and B3 face two strong flood lights meant to keep the coyotes away from the horses and goats. Site B2 is private, has full hookups, is under the trees, has a nice view and faces the toy barn which blocks the flood lights. Site CHL has no shade, water and electric only, is next to the club house yet still private, has a huge cement pad and it overlooks the lake. Site 17 is in the main field, has full hookups and a nice view and shade.

We ended up here bc it was the only place with any availability near Savannah but boy am I glad we did! Our first 2 nights were in the shaded dry camping area near the RV office. There is a chicken pen right next to this area with noisy roosters, happy hens & bunnies. There are farm cats running around, horses in the pasture and goats too! There is a great playground and pool (not heated) very close too. In the office building, there are 2 full, clean bathrooms with showers that eased the pain (stink) of dry camping. On our 3rd night, we moved to a full hook up site. That site was a big level pull through. It was in full sun and further away from the farm animals, playground and pool. The staff here really works hard to take care of you and even gave us 3 fresh eggs! It’s about 15 minutes to historical downtown Savannah and 40 minutes to Tybee Island. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

What a cute RV park, in the middle of a hobby farm, right outside Savannah. Lots of animals to see, property to walk around and even horses to ride if you’d like. They have a clubhouse with games, a TV room, showers, laundry, etc. And only 10 minutes from downtown Savannah! Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for two nights in mid-January 2019 and had a lovely time here. The setting is so peaceful here. There are trails, farm animals throughout, multiple lakes, etc. Our site was away from the main full hookup sites because all we needed was electric and water and were happy to have the Lakeview. The only downside of choosing this site is that it was closer to the train tracks, which were occasionally noisy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful here. You can even take the old Town trolley so you don't have to drive into the City from here. I would most definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a night on the way back from Florida. Staff was very kind and friendly but our site was right in the edge of the gravel road and very sandy. This campground is also a wedding venue so when there is a wedding you will hear the noise from it. IMO it’s a field on the side of the highway to lay your head for a night but not much else.

After a long day in Savannah we had a quick and easy drive to the campground. There are not a lot of campsites on the huge property. They have horses, goats and tons of room for walking. There are many old (and new) buildings to view. There were several weddings on property but we didn’t even know they were there. There is some road noise and trains nearby.

We loved our stay at Red Gate. If you enjoy a country setting within 15 minutes of historic Savannah, this is a great choice. Prices are fair, location is amazing and the sites are well spaced. We chose a water & electric site (C-2) and couldn't believe how spacious it was...also near the pond. The campground has a ton of amenities; outdoor pool, fire pits and farm animals(goats), ranking at the top! Highly recommend this family run park and will definitely return in the future.

We arrived before dark because we had not been to this campground before. We received a map at checkin, but many of the spots - including ours, 21 - had no number on them! We discovered this campground is located at the intersection of two very busy - all night busy - highways. Even with our white noise machines the trucks, motorcycles, and hotrods kept us awake most of rhe night. There is also a very busy RR track very close. No sleep possible! This campground is also an venue site. They were having a wedding on Saturday. There is a “strictly enforced 5 mph speed limit” that is not enforced! The noise was bad, but there are dirt roads and the road to the event runs about 20 feet from many of the campers. The dust covered us up! Checkout is at 11 AM which is early after no sleep and time change! This place could be great, but campground needs to be relocated on the property. We would never go back.

Wonderful campground. Absolutely beautiful setting with great staff. They go out of their way to take care of you and everything is as it should be. Really enjoyed the awning shading the pool. Because of corona, the laundry and showers were only open from 9 to 6. Not really convenient, but what are you gonna do. Some people complained in other reviews about the noise from the train. I love the noise of the train and was never bothered by it. I never heard it in the middle of the night. We went into Savannah most every day and we could get anywhere in town within 10 minutes or less. Really convenient location. The only negative is that our site was incredibly small. Others were much larger. If we were to stay again, I would make sure that we got one of the larger sites. This one was too small for anybody. But even with that, we absolutely loved this place. You can’t beat the beauty anywhere. And you’ll never fine nicer more accommodating staff. just make sure you get a better site than we did.

WiFi included, nice pool, GOATS, horses, ponds to fish and even kayak if you want to. If you’re looking for a close spot to Savannah this is it. I ride my bike to downtown _ though I don’t recommend it as it’s a busy road. If it wasn’t Covid time I’d have taken the trolley or Uber. Staff was excellent. WiFi worked well and I was able to work and run Hulu. Not too many spots but those that are are close together but look, you’re close to the city and you gotta think about that. Much better than the place down the road that charges the same if not more. I’ve stayed at both places. Site was level. Didn’t have to use a single little block.

Very nice and well kept campground close to Savannah. Beautiful grounds, lakes, horses, and cute goats. Nice pool although we did not swim. With all that being said, $57 a night seemed a little expensive to be parked in a field with no trees. We enjoyed our stay but probably wouldn't return only bc of cost. I don't understand the reviews about noisy roads or train noise. It was barely noticeable to us.

I was a guest at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort 24-26 of July. I wasn’t impressed with the customer service of the park. I wasn’t able to pull into my site on time because the couple there before us didn’t want to pack up in wet grass. They left trash, that we were left to clean up. Cigarettes and broken glass were left everywhere. We were pulling trash out of the bushes. When I called the front desk, she said someone would come by and pick it up… no one ever did. No one ever apologized for our hour an a half late check in or the trash we had to look at our entire stay BUT when I checked out the owner made sure to tell me she charged those people for late check out. (however didn't offer to compensate me in anyway) I signed up for a good Sams membership in the office as well, something I thought that would be more convenient than online but it has caused me nothing but a headache. Good Sam can’t find me in the system using ANY of my information and when I called Good Sams, they told me that they didn't see anything had been processed and to call the campground. I called Red Gate more than once to get this sorted out as we have just started traveling cross country and this membership is something that should be saving me money but instead I am negative -$29.00 for NOTHING. When Red Gate finally got back to me they tried to blame it on Good Sams giving me a different membership number. I would have appreciated a little more honesty from them because I know that's not what happened.

We arrived after dark with a 44’ fifth wheel. The camp manager called us before the office closed for the night to give us our campsite info and directions to the spot. Backing in was very easy- there is plenty of room and you can drive over the grass. The sites offer plenty of stand-off from your neighbor, however the pads are only the width of your rig, so you will be stepping down into the mud or grass. Our site had a picnic table and a stone fire pit. The laundry facilities are inside the office, so they are not accessible after 6pm. This campground does NOT have a bathhouse or shower house. Inside the office (which is a double-wide house) are two small bathrooms with showers for guests to use. But they are encouraged to shower in their own rigs, and neither the toilets or showers are available when the office is closed. This was a major drawback for us since our black tank valve is broken. The farm is lovely to walk around, impeccably manicured with huge oaks, trails around the pond and plenty of picturesque scenery. The farm is quiet although one night we were awoken to loud drag-racers on the highway and there is a train that comes through at night. The BEST part is the 10 minute drive to downtown historic Savannah- and if you request at the office, the trolly will pick you up at 9am. Can’t beat the location for proximity
