A pleasant region within the gorge. A few locations are alongside the stream, though the majority aren't. There's excellent trekking at the terminal point of the path. Activities include bouldering and angling. If you choose to angle, kindly adhere to the catch and release method.

This is such a special and remote campsite for not being too far off the beaten path. Great access—road is a little crumbly and campsites could be slightly uneven but our 27’ class A rig fit fine. We parked in the middle of more of a “group” site and had plenty of space, good clearance for our height from branches and easy to maneuver. Access road is a little sharp turn so take it easy and wide if you have a bigger rig (our neighbor hauled a 40’ trailer and made it work). Super clean for remote camping. There are some portolet toilets about 1/4mi walk up the road that are provided by camper’s coalition. River is pleasantly loud to help dampen any noise from other campers, which made it feel super nice. Close by to Lone Pine/Bishop and access to some really pristine climbing/hiking!

We scouted this area but didn't end up staying here because there was no cell service (even with a booster) on either AT&T or Verizon. Many of the spots to camp have really bumpy access. There are a few spots with smooth access, but watch for overhanging branches. I don't think we could have gotten our 29' Class A in the most popular camping spot without trimming some branches. That being said, it's a beautiful spot with a snow-melt creek and we would have stayed here except we need cell service to work.
