Our journey from Colorado to Illinois led us to discover this hidden treasure along the way. Although it's not a KOA, Jellystone, or Twelve Oaks, it offered everything we were looking for at a significantly lower cost. The facility provides the option to stroll around its private lake, rent paddle boats or kayaks, or even fish. We were only in need of a 30amp and water, so we chose a spot right beside the lake. Despite its proximity to I80, the noise was barely noticeable with the AC running. The restrooms were well-maintained, with three showers each, although the women's had a slight cigarette scent and the men's smelled of wood and a hint of Polo cologne. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. If you're traveling in this direction, it's definitely worth considering.

Long pull through's close together. Fairley level dirt surface. All utilities worked at our full hook up through. Not well-maintained most fire rings full of garbage. A few seasonal campers. Very noisy I-80 and fast moving traffic on the road to and from the campground. Bathrooms aren't clean well and are falling apart. Lots of goat heads ( sticker's) for your pets paws. Stayed in a MH. Would not stay again.

Campground was somewhat run down bathrooms that left a lot to be desired. Although nothing occurred while there it’s not a really safe looking campground. More like a big gravel parking lot

Level pull through site with 30 amp water and sewer. Little bit of shade for our 100 degree day. Easy on and off I 80. Nice lake

Right place at the right time. Pulled in around 6pm and office staff was still there. She was very friendly and got me a great site #2 which was next to lake and a pull thru. Price was $41 full hookups. Would stay there again. The park was large enough to take a stroll by the lake, which was nice after the long drive.

There is an old fashioned vibe at this campground. We had a PT w/e 50 amp site that was easy to get into and basically level. Lots of mature trees and room for kids and pets to roam. No WiFi but there are OTA channels and we could stream with AT&T.

This was a great spot to overnight as we headed west. Level spots, lots of area to walk after a long day in the car. Super easy to access off I-80 but minimal noise from the road. Spots were spacious and there are trees for shade. Bathrooms were older and need a good deep cleaning to get the cobwebs and bugs out; but they were sufficient. Great spot for the price! Would stay again if in the area.

Good park for an overnight stay - arrived late and left early. We stayed in a site with electric and water hookups ($28). They also have tent sites ($17) and full hookups with sewer ($34). 30 amp service is standard with additional $3 for 50 amp service. They have a playground, beach (which we didn’t see), and even a small fenced in dog area. Bathroom was clean and showers were roomy. No tokens, combos, or fees required for showers. Dump station for one rig at a time - no potable water at dump station so fill up at your site. Easy and fast stop for an overnight. This is cow country, so the air was a bit odiferous - to no fault of the campground other than being located in cow country. Quiet other than highway noise. Site was level enough that we were able to leave our Scamp hooked up to the car for the night. Technically not a pull through site, but because it was in line with another site, staff directed us to pull through from the other site so it was easy and fast to pull in that night and pull out the next day.

We had been traveling all day and storms were coming on. Stopped late and got set up just before the rain. Used AARP discount. Site was grassy and just by the lake. Nothing fancy. It was right on I-80 so there is highway noise at night. Wasn’t too bad or I was just too tired to notice.

We visited in the middle of September in a pop-up trailer and 4 adults. We used electric and water - which worked great. The site was level and partially grass with a fire-pit and a table (firewood available for $4 at the office). The view was amazing! The lake had small sandy beaches and a designated swimming area (no lifeguard on duty). The office also rented out paddle boats ($7/hr - life jackets included). I recommend water shoes - there were a lot of prickly weeds beyond the sandy shores. This campground did not provide wifi, which was a bummer, but not a deal breaker. The location was great - right off I-80 and it was easy to get to major attractions (like Fort Cody and Golden Spike Tower). There was one bathroom facility for the entire campground. The bathrooms had two toilets, two sinks and three showers. The bathrooms had toilets separate from the shower stalls, which was nice. Two of the shower stalls also included a dressing room with a bench. Despite serving the entire campground, we never experienced any waiting in the restrooms. They were however not well kept. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in several days and there were some dead wasps on the floor. There were a lot of large bugs (crickets and wasps) in North Platte this time of year - I recommend traveling with bug spray, bug yard spray and a flyswatter (or two). That was the only downside, but it didn't keep us from enjoying the outdoors here. We would stay here again.

Quick stop on our way to Colorado. Came in late but they accommodate by posting your site info on a bulletin board. Nice sunrise over the pond.

Ditto DRNMD’s review below. In addition to AAA, AARP and military discounts, there is also a discount for Good Sam members. Our total included the discount and tax (for a 30 amp site and water). We stayed once before when we came to North Platte for the sand crane migration. July 30 we called one hour out and there were still plenty of sites available. Many sites, including ours, #19, have a shade tree. Nice, friendly staff, too!

I-80 Lakeside Campground has easy access to I-80, and small lake if you like catch and release fishing, very level sites and the family that runs the facility is very friendly and helpful. Downsides: - Shower house is not heated and the lighting and facility needs an upgrade. - Signage from the office to the sites is difficult to follow, but it is not too large and you can find your way. - A bit noisy as it is just off I-80, but this didn't impact my sleep at all. - No Wi-Fi. Upsides: - Very friendly staff. - Excellent pricing (offer AAA, AARP, Veteran discounts). - Easy access to I-80. - No frills, just a nice place to stay.

Hookups for a comfortable, winter camping spot. Pretty quiet for how close it is to I-80

En route home and needed a place to stop for a quick overnight. The camp host was super accommodating, staying open an extra half hour just to help get us settled. Once our slides were out, the sites were small and cramped, width-wise, but they were long enough to allow us to not unhook for the night, which is exactly what we were looking for. Couple that with the proximity to the freeway (super close) and it was the perfect stop. The only reason we gave this 4 stars was due to the lower quality bathrooms. They were ok, but not great — keypad was inoperable, paper towel dispenser broken, and it was just older.

Found this campground on our way back to the Midwest. It is located on a lake near the North Platte River. During Covid-19, the office was limiting the number of people in the office. We didn’t look at the laundry or restrooms to see if they were open. Our site was level on older hard-packed grass/gravel and included a fire ring, picnic table, and full-hookups. There was no WiFi, AT&T 4 bars LTE (great speed), limited over-the-air TV stations, and our hotspot with a MiMo antenna gave us great signal strength for streaming. It is located right off 1-80, so there is highway noise to contend with. There was a road around the lake which gave us an opportunity to walk around it a couple times every day too!

Camped for two days as we were visiting friends in North Platte. There is no grass and the spots are gravel and weeds. The spots are very close to each other which was a little bothersome. Convenient access to I-80 that you can see from the campground. The I-80 noise was not terrible, but we were in a spot furthest from the interstate. Some of the fire pits are very small and they all do not have grates over them. The hosts were nice and provided us with a 50 to 30amp converter. The ‘lake’ is small but you are allowed to swim, kayak, and fish which is nice. They were also pet friendly which is a bonus. Would camp again for night if traveling through.

We utilized this campground while traveling westbound and then again eastbound. Each time we reserved our campsite and had a very pleasant experience placing reservations. The campground is very close to I-80 so expect to hear highway noise. This campground is a typical RV style campground with not much privacy. The sites are gravel and fairly level. No major complaints, we would certainly stay here again.

It was a last minute decision to camp here and it was a good one. Office staff were easy to deal with and we were happy to get a spot on a holiday weekend. Some interstate noise but nothing drastic. Nice lake to fish in and quiet. The only drawback was the dirt sites and our leveling blocks kept sinking.

We came in at 2:30am due to time change and high winds. One other rver was also in lake. Their spot was in a huge puddle due to rain. Most of the campsites were flooded. Lucky for us, ours wasnt. It was mostly level with gravel and grass sites. Easy back onto i80. I would stay again if there was no rain.

Many tent sites with several pull thru's around beautiful serene pond right along i80. This pond is next to the Platte River. Ability to walk around entire campground was 2 miles, nature at its best. Being right next to i80 can hear trucks but not overwhelming. Free showers, bathroom needs update. Will definitely stay here again!

North Platte, NE – I-80 Lakeside Campground. We stayed here two nights. Our pull through site was gravel, level and plenty long for both our 38’ 5th wheel and the truck. The interior roads were also gravel. There was grass between each site and the sites were not crowded. Most sites were pull through with no shade. I saw some back in sites by the lake that were back in – some of those were water/electric sites and some were only 30 amp, but others were FHU with 50 amp. There are 89 RV sites and also sites for tents. Our site N had no shade. They do not have WiFi or cable. Our portable Dish worked well and so did both Verizon and ATT cell signals. The campground offers for rent canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats. They also allow catch and release fishing. We were there 2 nights but we did not use any of the water craft since we spent a lot of the day at the Bailey Rail Yard, the largest rail yard in the world. I highly recommend that attraction. I did not see a dog yard but there is plenty of room to walk pets. The campground offers Good Sam discounts. We would stay here again.
