This community maintained campground is right on the waters of Baird Bay, and although it only has minimal facilities is quite comfortable and roomy.
Sites are mostly gravel/sand and suitable for tents camper trailers and vans. There is a coin operated gas barbecue and sheltered picnic tables as well as bore water (not suitable for drinking). Take a walk up to the lookout to view the surrounding bay, or laze on the beach, rod in hand. There are fish cleaning facilities and basic but clean composting toilets. Last time I was here I saw a pod of dolphins swimming right off the coast and (after the dolphins left) caught a nice feed of fish for dinner. If you bring your own firewood, you can cook your feed on the wood barbecues (when there are no fire bans) whilst watching the sun set over the bay.
Access
