We had to be in the area for work commitments and there are few campgrounds with availability on the weekend. Bike week made the shortage a little more acute.

After looking at the reviews and online photos of this campground, we were a bit disappointed in what we saw when we got here. LOTS of seasonal sites - many of which were kind of run down..complete with "security cameras in use" signs posted in their campers. Sites were VERY tight and did not offer a lot of privacy. The electrical hookups for the newer section where we were camped were located at the back of the site - made it pretty difficult to access. We were there during a rainy weekend and there were sites completely under water around us. We lucked out that our site wasn't flooded, but others didn't fare as well. Once the rain subsided, the water receded pretty quickly. This may be a great campground for boat owners as they have lots of docks, but we were there during off season, so pretty quiet. They were undergoing some renovations while we were there (new pools?) Site fee included $15 site lock fee + $2 "convenience fee"

Love Camping
On the surface this place seems family oriented but it is not! The owners Northgate Management Michigan does not care about families!! They are making all the seasonal take down there rooms! At there own expense! If you try to give a family member your trailer for low money they charge you 15% of what they think it’s valued at, not not book value, there opinion! Beware! It’s not as good as it looks on the surface! They advertising sewer hook up for weekenders and there is no sewer on the site! They have a pump station that you can haul your trailer to before you leave. The reservation people will confirm there is hook ups! No Wifi and cell service for all carriers was awful! Couldn’t even get in Facebook
