We began our journey on a single evening. The paths were quaint and mostly under the cover of trees, with a friendly and accommodating team on hand. Internet connectivity was satisfactory, however, mobile network was unavailable. If we travel in this direction in the future, we intend to stay for two nights to fully experience and discover more.

We opted for Shoshone due to its closeness to Death Valley, intending to spend a fortnight there. We didn't anticipate any inaccuracies in the cell service reviews provided by others. However, during our check-in, we were informed about the absence of cell service. We had routers and sims for all the top three network providers and were confident of finding a way around it despite the information. However, we were proven wrong. None of our routers could establish a connection and later we found out that the park had never had cell service. The park did have wifi, but depending on its shared bandwidth wasn't a viable option for us. Consequently, we spent a single night and advanced our departure to our next stop by two weeks. The park was visually appealing, don't misunderstand. However, our dependence on connectivity and our inability to establish it with our equipment was the deal-breaker.

The campsite is a bit on the expensive side, but it's really lovely. After a day of wandering around Death Valley, the 89-degree pool is blissful. The pitches are spacious and relatively flat, and the washrooms/showers are tidy and well-maintained. The site manager was incredibly welcoming and helpful, even leading us to our pitch. There's also a local eatery close by with tasty meals and a comprehensive drinks menu. Plus, the wifi connection was impressively quick and reliable. I'd definitely consider revisiting this place.

I have to start out with the fact that this was our first private RV Park stay - we usually stay in national, state or county parks. We don't need hookups, and almost every RV park that I have seen resembles a parking lot with hookups. That said, this place was recommended to us by our neighbors when we were camping in Death Valley. And having passed through this oasis on the way home, I wanted to see more. As a marine biologist, I really wanted to come here because the Shoshone pupfish is right nearby - in the nature preserve across the street and even in the drainage ditch through the campground! How often do you get to camp with rare and endemic species? The nature preserve is a really pleasant walk. There is also a pond with a birders blind so you can observe but not be easily seen - bring your bird book! In the evenings we did see coyotes pretty regularly, so keep your pets on leash and close. And it's not at all like a parking lot! Most of the sites are grass - ours was, and very pleasant. The layout can be a bit confusing, but the nice lady who checked us in walked us to the site. I was at first confused by being told that propane fire rings were not allowed, but that makes perfect sense on a grass site. Site #1 had 15 and 30 amp outlets, potable water, non potable (from the springs) and sewage hookup. There was very little to no cel reception, but the wifi was good here - and good at the Crowbar Cafe as well. We were onsite Mon-Fri in November, and we had a pleasant, quiet stay. The hot spring fed pool is a glorious luxury after a long drive or a day exploring, the bathrooms were clean, and the showers had plenty of hot water and pressure. There is also laundry available ($2 in quarters for a wash load I think), and a small library room that would be a good place to get some work done out of the wind, should one wish to. Our day trips included Tecopa (great BBQ), China Ranch, and Pahrump (get gas). Right around Shoshone is Dublin gulch, the Shoshone cemetery, museum and the awesome Shoshone Cafe & Saloon. I suppose you could also make a day trip to Vegas if you wanted to. All in all a very nice stay, would definitely return. Oh and they do Good Sam or AAA discounts, so ask.

I stayed here in mid March 2022 after a visit to Death Valley. I only intended to stay a night, maybe 2, but due to an intense windstorm, there were advisories for drivers towing trailers to stay put! ...the wind BLOWS here!! It's a nice campground, with clean facilities, an onsite pool, and grassy areas. Site locations are a bit of a mish mash, but overall a good stopover. Shoshone is a very interesting place, A local woman inherited the lands and the town from her grandfather, who had homesteaded the area. She is very involved in trying to find ways to preserve the lifestyle, the nature and environment, and Shoshone in general. Her brother owns the Date Ranch....btw, the Date Ranch is a must see! It is an incredible place! I spent the better part of a day there. It is also an easy drive from here to the numerous hot springs in Tecopa. Another adventure. Regarding the management in spring 2022, the older man who is/was working there should probably find himself another job. He has no people skills, and seems to get stressed and annoyed very easily. My situation was that the wind was so strong it had blown away the lock to my trailer hitch, so I had to go into Pahrump to buy another one before I could hook up and depart. I left him a note and called him from Pahrump, so he would know that it was my trailer in the site which had a new traveler coming in that same day.... Needless to say, when I returned he screamed at me awhile, and other campers quickly told me that he had been yelling for awhile anyway at everyone waiting for their sites...I will say the area is really unique, almost otherworldly. I left there feeling like I had been in a time warp ! :)

Great campground for visiting Death Valley and Las Vegas. Nice grassy area for a dog, and a pool! Sites were weirdly placed but it was an oasis in a desert! We did not have Shade at our spot!

After 3 days of boondocking in the desert we were so ready for the luxury of AC and full hook-ups. Shoshone fit the bill and then some. I wasn't expecting this level of upkeep, the plants are mature, the lawns watered, the facilities very clean, and all of the rigs in the park are well kept...i.e. no dilapidated long-term rigs/sites. We paid $40 as we are not Good Sam or AAA members. I had no competition for the laundry 2 washers, 2 dryers. The dryers will do a double load so you can save a bit there. $2/wash and $2/dry We weren't planning to check out the pool but the sun made it look pretty inviting. It's a constant 89 degrees all year round which on an 80 degree day didn't feel very refreshing. There were a lot of tiny bugs floating on the waters surface so a constant arm wave was necessary to keep them off your face. However we quickly struck up conversation with a pair of snowbirds and all worries of the bugs were quickly forgotten. In the evening we took the dog for a walk and found a delightful little trail network immediately across from the tent sites. There seems to be some habitat rehabilitation work ongoing here and it's a pleasure to enjoy it on a cool evening. Overall the park is, a little palm springs, meets a little tiki vibe and it's obviously well loved and cared for. DID I MENTION THE WI-FI IS BLAZING FAST?!?! **Only the download speeds, the upload speeds aren't much to write home about.

This park is near the Eastern entrance to Death Valley. Surprisingly there is a lot to do and see at this older facility, sill owned by the family that built the town 100 years ago. We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend and the weather was perfect aside from a couple of episodes of wind. We were able to park our rig on green grass (only a few spots have grass - most are gravel). They have an old warm spring swimming pool which stays at 89 degrees and felt great in the Autumn weather. There are hikes you can take from the park and within walking distance is the rest of the town (population 31) which includes a museum focusing on the origins of the town. If you like old west history you'll love this. There is a restaurant and bar within walking distance, also owned by the founding family. We ate there twice and the food was surprisingly good. The hosts are the best, they work hard at keeping this gem clean and running well.

Access: There is a large wide pull in that could basically handle any size rig, I saw some BIG RIGS pull in and they were able to accommodate. Some are back in, a few pull through. Location: This is in the middle of NOWHERE, an oasis in the desert. With that said it is right off the highway and very close to the rest of the town, walking distance. There is a gas station/general store, a cafe/bar. The closest grocery store and Walmart are 27 miles away in Pahrump, it is a beautiful drive in itself. Cleanliness: Judy and Clay the couple running the place had things looking spic and span! The pool was clean, I didn't see any trash and they mowed and cleaned/trim trees. They have created a cute little walking trail next to the pool area which is super adorable and leads to a few ponds with Pupfish! There are public restrooms, a laundry room, and a "library". Site Quality: The sites were typical, a few were little close for my taste, some had shade, some didn't, there is also lots of room for tents. Not as spacious as a state park but not crammed together like sardines either. Noise: I am used to my neighbors not walking directly through my site, at this park nobody seemed to know that unspoken rule so we constantly had people walking and talking outside our rig in our spot, plus everyone having fun at the pool is a little loud. There were a lot of kids there when we were and seems to be more of a vacation style spot. On the door to the office is a sign that reads: THERE IS NO CELLULAR SERVICE HERE. The wifi DID work, pretty well during the day but not so much at night. We are working from our moho and need phones, texting etc. SO we had to leave, unfortunately. We found a spot in the nearby town of Pahrump.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed our time here. This little park is the only game in town and although the facilities are old and a little funky, everything is well kept up and clean. Management is friendly and it's really nice to find an RV park in the desert that actually has some grass and shade trees! It was a welcome stay after dry camping in Death Valley for several days. The swimming pool was built in 1920 and is kept at about 83 deg. year round by hot springs water which comes into the pool via a large diameter pipe. Turn the valve on the pipe and the water is diverted to a large outdoor overhead shower - a not to be missed experience! As the others have noted, some sites are on grass and others on gravel. Some have shade and others are out in the sun. Pick a site to suit the weather. The tent sites looked very nice. They are on grass by the pond, have wooden windbreak screens, picnic tables, and a shelf to put your camp stove on. The washrooms and showers are old, but clean and adequate with plenty of hot water for the showers. There is a laundry and a neat "library" as well as a small communal kitchen (in the library building). It's easy walking distance to "town" and the Crowbar Cafe and Saloon. Several short hiking trails lead off from the park for those wanting to get some exercise. It was very quiet at night too - always a plus as far as we're concerned. We had absolutely no cell service and were told there is none in the village at all. The park's WiFi worked well most of the time especially during the day when not too many people were trying to use it at the same time.

Love this place. It’s small, super cute, friendly staff, nice level sites, super strong WiFi, great views...but no cell and very dated washrooms. It’s was a great locatio to go explore death valley. If you’re coming from the north, get your groceries in Pahrump. There is nothing to speak of in Shoshone.

Arrived without a reservation from Death Valley and where overwhelmed by this green oasis. After thee weeks on sand an gravel only a real treat! Services were clean and fully functional. Its associated pool with warm spring water 89°F was marvelous. The manager was readily suportif off business hours and organized us for a second day a new, comfortable site, for the first one had been booked some time ago.

Nice facility, nasty management. Checked in the afternoon with a motorhome, trailer and atv. The day manager had us put our trailer and atv where he wanted them since the lot we were booked in would not accommodate. 8am a lady manager banged on our door screaming at the top of her voice threatening because we had our trailer and atv where she didn't want them. Tried to explain but she was too nasty to listen. Ultimately she called the local sheriff who made a visit. Fortunately he listened and made an agreement with us and her separately since we merely had done what was asked of us. Really don't appreciate paying to be yelled at. Wouldn't recommend anyone to be subjected to this kind of abusive treatment. Wish I had noted all of the reviews concerning the rudeness at this place.

Wifi was good for the first 6 days, could stream videos & conference calls... then began to get flaky. People are nice. There is a hot spring & community marsh behind the property with ponds of little pupfish and small walking trails. Nice to have in the middle of the desert. Have to go to Pahrump 27 miles away for groceries & cell service. Mountain views and quiet. Full hookups. bathrooms are clean. There is also a natural spring pool 89 degrees for swimming.

When I booked this reservation they asked my length and height (31' fifth wheel) and assigned me a spot. When I arrived they had someone else in the spot I had booked and they stuck us in another spot. The "entrance" the site was a joke and not designed for a 30+ foot RV, especially a 5th wheel. We ended up having to drive on their lawn to get level/straight in the site and had to drive over the lawn to leave the site. The staff was not helpful at all despite going back to them about the site. They had multiple "sites" that were literally the park road. Thankfully there were not a lot of people there because we would have had a heck of a time getting out the park. We stayed here because of its proximity to DV park entrance and we needed cell service. Next time we would just boondock or stay in the park itself since this place was NOT worth $36. There is a gas station by the RV Park but know its about $0.40 more per gallon than the gas station IN Death Valley park. I did not use the rest room, but my husband said it was the dirtiest bathroom he had ever been in. There are other options that would likely be a better option.

We really enjoyed our stay here in tiny Shoshone. Lots of places to walk the dog. There's a trail system on both sides of the highway. A real configuration of sites here like there were many added after the Rv park was built. Ours didn't even have a number but just a little pull thru site in front of a mobile home rental. We easily made the little walk to the Crowbar restaurant ( yummy Mexican food), and whats called a museum. But it was closed due to the covid.

basic, older style campground but it’s clean, has decent site spacing and a good location for exploring death valley. clean bathrooms and shower (free); hot springs pool, full hookups, good wifi, friendly manager. The town has one restaurant (Crowbar Café and Saloon) and a gas station, that’s about it. They offer a GoodSam discount.
