If you're not a regular, steer clear! It's difficult to know where to start with this critique. The new management is far from welcoming. I attempted to book a week-long stay for mid-January at the tail end of December. They neglected to inform me that they were fully booked and that we would be placed in overflow accommodation. Had we known, we may have reconsidered our booking. Don't anticipate a friendly greeting or any greeting at all. Check-in is at 1:00 PM. The office shuts at the same time, and your site information is left in a box outside on a post. If you do manage to find someone in the office, you are met with an icy, inhospitable "we're closed, info is outside" and "we will be open on Monday" (we arrived on a Friday). Our site was not even located within the RV park. Instead, it was nestled between the entrance road and the outer wall. The constant traffic noise from Highway 79 was a constant disturbance. When I inquired about our site location on Monday, I was informed that the RV park was full, primarily with seasonal patrons. There was no opportunity for a nicely landscaped site within the RV park. It was a take it or leave it situation. There are 9 tightly packed spots near the park entrance. The surface is a mix of gravel, sporadic gravel patches, or more dirt than gravel. Small patios have been poured at the front of the sites, but we couldn't position our 38-foot 5th wheel in a way that allowed us to step firmly onto the patio. If we had, our 1-ton pickup would have been obstructing the main driveway as there was no other parking available except perpendicular to the trailer front. We were forced to step onto bare dirt, devoid of gravel. We understand that we are in the desert and rain is rare, but we experienced 2 days of rain and ended up stepping out

In March 2022, we spent several days at this place and were quite pleased. Liz, noticing our cramped quarters, unasked, relocated us to a more spacious area, which left us quite impressed. We made a reservation for the entire month of 2023 in April 2022. We were given a spot near the wall, prompting me to inquire with Liz about other available options. She informed me that spot 24 had just opened up and asked me to check it out on the park map for approval. I gave my consent, and she sent me an email confirmation. Everything was in order. However, upon our arrival on January 1st, we found a camper already occupying our spot. We tried contacting the office, only to be redirected to an after-hours number. Unfortunately, there was no response there either. Left with no other choice, we set up camp at site 25 and waited for a callback. It wasn't until the next day that we received a call, only to be asked to move to a smaller spot that was unsuitable for us. When I mentioned the arrangements I had made with Liz and the confirmation email she had sent, I was informed that Liz no longer worked there, and the only available spot was the smaller one. We left and vowed never to return. While the park itself is pleasant, the management leaves much to be desired. If you decide to make a reservation here, I wish you the best of luck.

I'm spending tons of time trying to find a campground with cabins and rv sites. This one is age qualified, and didn't say so until I was ready to book. I wish I wouldn't have spent my 20-30 min on it trying to see if they could accommodate our needs.

Place was clean and well maintained. Didn’t use the showers, pool, or hot tub during our stay. You do have to get pretty close to the electrical in the back in order to plug in if you have a long trailer. All sites are gravel and flat. Loved all the different varieties of cactus.

On a scale of 1 to 10 for quality of the facilities, I'd give this park a 9 or 10. Everything was very clean and well maintained and the park has some of the prettiest desert landscaping that I've ever seen. Sites are gravel with concrete patios. Hook-ups for the back-in sites are at the back of the site which meant we had to back our small trailer all the way to the back of our site to reach them, putting the bumper of our trailer about a foot from our neighbor's satellite dish. WiFi worked well. The showers and restrooms are in the office/clubhouse and somewhat oddly placed. As you enter the building there is a small lounge area to your left, the office itself to the right and a community kitchen directly in front of you. Go to the right to access one bathroom and the "library" or to the left to access the other bathroom and the laundry. Bathrooms are uni-sex, but private with each one having its own toilet, sink and shower. Hint: the bathroom by the "library" is larger and has the better shower. Restrooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The park also has a pool and hot tub which we didn't use. They looked very nice, but the hot tub is only heated from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the pool is unheated. Now, as for the friendliness of the residents I would have to give this park only a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. When we arrived, the man who checked us in seemed a little put out that we were disturbing him on a Sunday, even though we had reservations, because they "don't normally have the office open on a Sunday." Although we saw many residents when we were walking around the park, no one seemed very friendly and it was usually my husband or I who said "hi" first. I got the impression this park is primarily set up for long term seasonal residents and so those of us just passing through aren't very welcome. I must say however that the neighbor behind us and the one to one side were friendly enough. A final note: We picked this park for its proximity to Boyce Thompson Arboretum (fabulous!!!). We had no idea that Florence is also known as "Prison City". There are at least 6 prisons in the immediate vicinity of the town which give it a kind of depressing, creepy vibe. Your experience may be different of course.
