We spent four evenings at location 116. Our signal booster made the Wi-Fi connection excellent. Our Verizon service was also reliable. Our spot was secluded, surrounded by trees, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Some locations are situated in an open meadow and aren't as appealing. Permanent campers in the area were amicable and nearly all the campers were tidy and modern. The region is so beautiful, it's understandable why someone would want to reside here throughout the summer and autumn. The laundry facilities were conveniently located and reasonably priced. The park itself is fantastic, with disc golf available and a pond for catch-and-release fishing. I'm looking forward to returning in the near future!

I stayed at Raccoon Branch Campground during August of 2019. The park is very clean, very peaceful and with only 20 campsites, 8 with 30 amp and water hookup. I gave the park an average rating because it has a serious electrical issue with the 30 amp sites. The park was built in the 60's and the electrical is in dire need of being upgraded. On different occasions mainly during the day with the AC running on the area that I was in the main breaker will trip. Myself and others in the area affected by the electrical powering 4 30 amp sites went without power on several occasions for several hours. An employee with the park came out to try and fix the issue and found that the main power supply to the sites affected was only putting out 60 amps just enough to power two 30 amp sites with four connected to the main supply line. The park as in the employee's words badly needs to have the electrical upgraded to avoid outages in the future. Overall the stay was very pleasant but having the electrical issue was very upsetting to deal with. The park does offer free internet with a strong signal.

We needed an overnight site. The camp hosts were very friendly, and knowledgeable of the area. It was very clean and neat.

We stayed here for five nights as part of a gathering of T@B users (a small teardrop-style RV). We thought the campground was great. Sites are somewhat close together, so privacy is a bit lacking, but we were here for the group activities so that wasn’t an issue for us. The facilities are well-maintained. Bath houses are within a reasonable distance of most sites. WiFi is free but we could never get logged in. We had Verizon 3 bar (extended) so we just used it instead. A bonus was cable at our site, which was unexpected and not usually offered at the more rustic campgrounds we normally use. We bought a coax cable at the well-stocked camp store and took advantage. The only mild inconvenience was that the store/office closes at 5 pm and we sometimes didn’t get back in time to buy what we needed. There’s a gas station/store a mile or so away. The campground location was 20-30 minutes from West Jefferson and Boone, and literally adjacent to the Parkway. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again.

As a private RV park, it's very woodsy and natural, relatively speaking. As a campground, it's a bit crowded with little separation between sites. We've actually spent time here on 2 occasions, once as attendees of a T@B Rally. T@B is the brand name of a particular teardrop camper. This is a good facility to host these kinds of events for a variety of reasons. The best way to describe a campground is to show it to you. This video is from a one night stay on our way to New England from Georgia .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ixMZZAEs1A&index=55&list=PL2v8LB6vz74uvX193GKeGFgMmaU8QpXnV&t=0s There are about a half dozen videos from the T@B Rallies as well on our channel if you're interested in what those look like. There were about 75 rigs in attendance. Bathrooms were clean as you can see in the video. Wi-Fi was "functional" but not great (mind you, this was a couple years ago).

We liked the location, so gave it a try after reading reviews here. It was soooo congested! No privacy on any side. We used it to for rv parking and stayed gone all day. The people were helpful and nice. Just not what camping should feel like.

We loved this campground. It was heavily forested, quiet and was cleaner than any campground we've experienced. We will definitely return.

This campground is very clean and well maintained. The internet was the best we have ever had at a campground. All of the streets are paved and excellent condition. The showers and restrooms are large and very clean. There is a laundry facility available. A majority of the sites are rented to seasonal guests from April to October. Those sites have beautiful decks and furniture surrounding them. Some sites have less trees and less privacy then others. Some of the private sites with trees are 116, 117,118, 119,120,121.The town of West Jefferson is about 12 miles down the road and delightful.
