The area might be small, but it's valuable. The route to get there is pretty decent.

I stayed here in late September and it was pretty busy, most or all of the sites were taken. I stayed in site 1, which I think is the most level. I was able to get perfectly level without any blocks. The pit toilets are on the other side of the campground from site 1, it's about a two minute walk. They were clean and usable. There is a dumpster by the bathrooms. It's very dry here, not much green. There are a lot of flies and other bugs but none of them bit me. The river is beautiful but it is a ways down from the campsites. It's kind of a rough path to get down close to it. Several fisherman were doing it though. The picnic tables and fire rings are in great shape. Each picnic table has a shade shelter over it. I had great speeds from AT&T and Verizon here. My T-mobile device roamed onto AT&T and had a great signal but was very slow.

We boondock a lot. When I do pay I'd like at least more than a picnic table or fancy fire ring. A dumpster, now that makes my life easier. The road in is bad pavement but not horrendous until the bridges and especially the last 2000 feet. Just before the sign coming in there is the pot hole from hell on the passenger's side. Thought the entire 5th wheel was going to go in. Great spaces to let the dogs run outside of the park if you got 'em.

Initially tried Gray Reef Reservoir camping but it was a bit crowded so we drove the 5 extra minutes to Pete’s Draw. Well worth it! All of the sites had shelters and campfire rings. Beautiful peaceful sites by the river. Very well spaced. Awesome sunset and sunrise. Windy when we arrived at 6pm but it calmed down after sunset. Road to campsites is paved and not too far off 220. Very little road noise.

Long, level sites with a couple of pull-throughs. Short gravel walkway along the river. The only drawback was the aging paved road to the campground: about two miles of potholes, some of them pretty deep!

We really enjoyed our stay. Barn swallows, crickets, and the sound of the river flowing just steps away meant we had a very restful night. There are two long pull-throughs so big rigs can fit easily but... Caution: there are two bridges you must cross when approaching from the south (heading NE to the campground). One is rated 15 tons for trucks with trailers, the second one is only rated 11 tons. There is a road that comes in from the North which would not require crossing the bridges, but at the time of our visit, the road was blocked off with a gate.

I was looking for a place near Casper, WY and discovered this one. Paved road to the campground, small 2 lane or large 1 lane. Right on the river. Only a few sites have a "Room with a View" of the river, otherwise pretty much "Bush Camping" (staring at bushes)Popular fishing river, you can sit and watch the boats go by. no trees, campsites have a shaded area. Didn't see much else to do, but I'll let others seek those out. Costs are $10 (50% for having the "Old Geezer Pass" Golden age thing) Casper is about 30 min down the road. I was here in a Truck Camper, pads a little narrow, but deep. Wide separation so neighbors can give you peace and quiet, quieter that is... While I wouldn't make a point of coming here, it's much better than Camp Wally (Walmart)
