We travel in a 21’ van. We backed right into a wooded lot with a picnic table and fire pit and enjoyed two locket, shaded days. The campground is broken into three or four loops and each one has 8-12 sites. Our site, #53 is pretty private. Pit toilet shared with 10 other sites. Maintained. Easy. Dirt roads into site. Barrow but easily navigable.

First time staying here and would definitely stay again. Spacious sites and easy to get to. If you have kids, get a site next to the play area. Nothing fancy (a swing, a field, and some sand) but lots of friendly people to let your beasts run wild.

Camped here in early November and the grounds were just beautiful. The trees were colorful and covered the ground making for a pleasant to look at landscape. There were maybe 5 rvs in total in the campground making it feel very secluded. I'm sure this isn't the case in the warmer season but I can't imagine this campground is ever completely filled. The lady I talked to when registering told me the bathrooms and showers were closed in the off season yet all the bathrooms were unlocked And usable as well as a few shower stalls were unlocked and usable. Bathrooms and showers also looked very clean and well maintained. She also mentioned the water was not usable in the off season, I didn't use there water so I cannot comment on that. There was a short trail that we walked, maybe a mile long, that went along the lake shore and looped back around to the campground. not sure If there were more trails but I would think so as the campground is located in a state recreation area. It's located about 10 minutes off of 131 about 30 minutes south of Grand Rapids and 20 minutes north of Kalamazoo. All in all it was a lovely place to camp And would make a good central hub for you too check out what the lower mid Michigan area has to offer.

We found out after registering that there water was polluted and scheduled to be retested in a few days. The driveway in/out and to the dump station is up a large banked gravel road. Not very safe with a lot of weight behind you. We weren't able to make it up on first attempt and had to back all the way down (a nerve wracking experience) second attempt barely made it. Didn't want to attempt a 3rd time so cslled front desk to cancel reservation. Clerk stated, "they won't let me give refunds anymore, I'll have to give your info to my manager". Clearly we're not the only ones who want their money back. No one called. Upon my follow up I was met with belligerence questioning our vehicles tow load, driving, etc. My husband works with vehicles as a professional everyday.....obviously they were reaching. I can't understand making such a stand to take $40 from someone who was on your property for 20 min......
