Glendora - Hill End Historic Site Campground

2850, Hill End
New South Wales, Australie

Near the historic town of Hill End, this is a well provisioned campground suitable for families and caravans.
There are a variety of sites, some powered and most suitable for caravans. There is also plenty of level grassy areas suitable for pitching a tent and a good amount of shade from the large eucalypt trees. There are hot water showers, excellent amenities, fire rings, sheltered barbecue areas and flushing toilets. Although this campground is right near town, it has a very "bush" feel to it, with plenty of native vegetation. The gallahs provide a true Australian soundtrack and the kangaroos like to come in to graze on the well kept grass. There is also a section reserved for group camping which is a good idea, considering how popular this campground is in school holidays.

Access
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there
The campground is well signed on the road to Bald Hill Lookout, about 1km north west from town.

I would like to note that the unpowered camping sites at Glendora are exceptionally poor for tent campers-- NPWS have used roadbase to surface the campsite areas, and there's only about 2 small areas where that ground is level. If I were to camp there again, I'd drop the extra $3 and use a powered site, where there's a level grassed surface.Another thing to note is that there's 'stealth' electricity available in the toilet block, ...and a few other places.
