Waitpinga
In coastal mallee scrub, a short stroll from the beach, suitable for tents and camper trailers. Waitpinga Beach There is a walking track Waitpinga Beach (about 600m) or you can drive / walk down Dennis Road about 1. 3km to the carpark at the end of the road.
Dergholm
Very comfortable campground amongst the ancient and rare green granite rocks and eucalypts. This campground is vety spacious and has well grassed tent sites and plenty of shade.

Also known as Mountain creek. Camping in the Picnic Area near the town of MoonambelBasic facilities with long drop toilets, picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade. It is just out of town, and was empty the last couple of times I stayed here.
Great free camping area on the unaturally blue (but pretty all the same) Stockton LakeStockton Lake is an artificial lake, created when a closed mine was filled with water. This gives the water an unnatural turquoise blue colour, which looks amazing on a beautiful sunny day.

Glenisla
A pleasant, green, creek side camp surrounded by rugged sandstone. Good shade provided by Grey Box, Bundy, Stringybark, Yellow Gum and Red River Gum over bracken and grass (mown by kangaroos).
Blowering
Large grassy campground, suitable for caravans on the shore of Blowering DamThis is avery large campground and is very popular. There are no designated sites, just lots of open grassy areas and a few scattered trees for shade.
Licola
Small riverside caravan park on level, well grassed (mown) green flats above the Macalister River in a narrow valley. Modern facilities. Hot showers Limited shade. Adjacent to general store/pub/fuel stop/post office.
Johanna
A grassy, open undulating area behind sand dunes facing farmland. Near a popular, remote surfing beach, backed by steep hills. One small site near the Park entrance has some shade from old cypress trees and a flush WC.
Warrak
In a protected broad valley in open savannah woodland with thin shade from stunted Yellow Box and River Red GumsBacked by scrub and rugged granite outcrops. The extended camping area is level and partially grassed over granite sand. Fires in fireplaces (3) only.
Kuitpo
Lovely bush camping among native forest in the Kuitpo Forest Reserve near Meadows in South Australia. (Closed during fire danger season (Dec to Mar)There are basic facilities here (toilet, sheltered picnic tables and a water tank).
Paddys River
On the banks of Gibraltar Creek, with flushing toilets and hot showers. Woods Reserve is a large, mostly level campground with excellent facilities and reasonably priced. It is suitable for caravans, campers or tents, and there are shady or sunny sites, depending on your requirements.
Ararat
A disappointing (but popular) camp consisting of a large grassed area by an attractive lake with very limited shade. Backed by flat, open farmland with some traffic noise from the highway. The ambiance may improve as recently planted shrubs grow. Maintenance is good.
Laidley Heights
Well established campground run by council on the edge of Lake DyerLake Dyer is a stocked impoundment (so QLD fishing licence is required). It is stocked with Bass, Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and Cod.

Rocklands
Pleasant lakeside camping in open dry sclerophyll forest within Rocklands State Forest. Reasonable shade provided by Manna and Yellow Gum over short grass (slashed) and gravel. Most sites slope a little and have water views. The water edge is close, even when the reservoir is only 25% full.
On the banks of the Coorong, with spectacular scenery, but not a lot of wind protection. A number of smaller sites around this area, suitable for self sufficient campers. Some of the sites are only accessible with 4wd due to sandy tracks.
Riverside site by the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. A grassed clearing with 3 sites close to each other, shaded by mature pines and Yellow Gums. Only 1 site level. Plentiful bird life. Backed by Brown Stringybark forest, tea tree, dense bush and wildflowers. Jetty Rated at 4.
Wannon
A secluded camping area in a large reserve of dry sclerophyll open forest over short grass on a level, gravelly plateau above the Wannan River. Camping area is distant from the day area, next to a small cricket ground but open to the through access road.
Mumbannar
Situated on a flat plain near stunning views overlooking the winding gorge of the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. Camp area located in a bush setting, most sites grassed, well separated and screened by scrub. Most share a tap and BBQ.
Level river flats above the Genoa River. By the old highway bridge. Originally a caravan park, power has been disconnected and a tennis court added. Mature gum shade. Secluded site possible to north of tennis court overlooking river. Picnic tables, barbecues, toilets and pay equipment.
