Well maintained campground, spacious sites. The modern showers/restrooms require an access code, provided by the camp host. We enjoyed the proximity to the river for fishing, and the spectacular views above the dam. The rate was for the senior lifetime interagency parks pass.

This is one of the nicest Army Corp parks I have seen. It has a lot of space between sights and there are many sights that will hold large rigs like mine at almost 70 ft long total. It is tucked in the trees. It has 50 amp power and water is available just not at each sight. Plus there is a dump station on sight. We will definitely be back if we come to Minnesota again.

Looks like we are the most recent review,, YOU must have a reservation through www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233533 put in your "pass" and get the 12 night rate. there is no walkup site here here now!! there are TWO campground so be sure you are in the right one.. this is at the "Winnie Dam Campground".. which is the headwaters of the mississippi river.. the other one is way on the west side of the lake.. also verizon works but slow, t-mobile and sprint forget cell service for the most part.. ATT is best that works. We had to book a reservation while sitting with the camp host,, a great couple that has been doing this for the past 12 yrs. if you don't have cell service they can help you with getting a reservation.. seem like issues with money in other COE campgrounds lead to making everything reservation only. there is no cost to reserve one.. There is a dump and good water,, 223 TDS we tested.. elec is 50,30,20 amp. SO we are in site #5.. its quite large are are most of the site.. they are spread out but not a lot between them.. Seem a big storm came through some years ago taking out over 200 tree according to the park host.. the place use to be quite wooded and mosquitoes were a bear. now its not so bad but you still get some. THe newish shower with bathroom are nice,, you push a button to get water and it did feel warm after the 30 sec it ran. you have to push the button again to get more water etc. there is one on each end with combo lock on door. the area is a fishing haven for Walleye, Perch, and Muskies in the state. Ice fishing is hugh with all the "ice castles" on the lake in winter. you are some 11 miles from the town of Deer Park with food store, fuel and laundromat.. the washers, front loader were $3.50 a load and dryer was .25 for 5 mins. the are higher priced but work well and the place is clean and safe.. thus far it been super quiet at night, unlike our last city park in Michigan ND west on Hwy 2,, trains during the night with HORNS. this was a welcome relief.. Will update the photos as well.. .
