My spouse and I were absolutely enamored with this location. The picturesque views and idyllic beach surroundings were impeccable. There were minor disturbances due to ongoing building works, which occasionally led to dust clouds, but this didn't dampen our overall experience. We are certainly planning a revisit. The provision of solid platforms and comprehensive utility connections was an added bonus.

This place was absolutely everything we wanted and more. Best time to go is after Labor Day. It was quiet, everyone was super friendly and lots of dog owners! The nature center was perfect for a homeschool field trip with the kids. We enjoyed the included water park and felt like it was well worth the $65 a night to camp. Showers were super clean, beach was clean, staff was friendly and intentional. Everyone we met felt like old friends. Wi-Fi at the campsite was excellent, cell service was good. Arcade was updated and full of exciting games. We stayed in the 3000 section on a dirt lot and it was close to the ocean. We already booked 2 weeks on concrete pad for next year! The sandy mart was great for snacks and supplies. Fair prices. Plan to bring or rent a golf cart ;) campground location is directly across the street from Walmart for groceries. Love this place and can’t wait to return!! con: our site seemed to have lots of flies even with not leaving food out.

This is a very nice, clean, and big commercial campground with direct access to the beach. We stayed on a weekend in mid October and the place was packed. We are not used to having so many people riding around on golf carts. They were everywhere. I didn't feel safe walking around the campground because of all the golf cart traffic, especially at night. We even had some people drive their carts through our camp site. Again, it's a nice campground. We just like places that are less busy.

Fancy RV resorts aren't really our style, but Ocean Lakes is pretty impressive anyway. It's one of the largest campgrounds in the country, so be prepared for row after row after row of RVs. Most of the campground (the part farther from the beach) is actually leased/rented houses, park models, and permanent mobile homes. RV sites are very wide but short - we have to park our towed car next to our motorhome, not behind it. We could see the ocean from our concrete site, and walked along the beach daily with our dogs---dogs are allowed on the beach during off-peak season, and we stayed in September 2014. Since the park is so huge, you can walk for a couple hours just inside the park, and it's great for casual bicycling too. There were quite a few golf carts roaming around but they weren't a bother. There are many resort-style amenities like swimming pools, mini-golf, sports, on-site fast food, laundry, camping store, trash pickup, etc. Just outside the campground are Camping World, Walmart, and other big box stores. The free Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well considering the many hundreds of RVs camped there.

This is a very nice, clean, and big commercial campground with direct access to the beach. We stayed two weeks in early May, the place gets busy on the weekends. This is a Huge Park, onsite camp store, Large pool, and water park. It is for the most part Dog friendly, and there is a dog park "Barc Parc" a few miles north of this location. Verizon signal was strong. We were told the water had high levels of fluoride, so we took advantage of the free filtered water filling stations located throughout the park. We camped here in a 40 ft MH.

The sites are large for such a large living community. Houses as well as rv spaces. Nice people, service oriented. Propane truck even comes to your space. For me, there is too many people. Lots of space to bike.

This is a huge campground with lots of rental properties on site as well. There is a laundromat, water park, mini golf, indoor pool, arcade and of course the beach. We were there in March and the water park wasn't open yet. I imagine this place is super crowded in the summer. The employees were nice, and it's a good location for visiting Myrtle Beach. Verizon and AT&T work great. I like how they let you choose a site online while booking your reservation. It was nice to be able to see site dimensions and get a good idea of which site would work for us. We have a 41 ft. 5th wheel and fit fine in site H7. We had to park the truck on the grass in the site, but most others did that as well so it wasn't a problem. Our kids loved the arcade and I'm sure would have loved the water park if we had been there while it was open.

This is a beachfront warehouse. Sites are on top each other. They are all pull thrus but access roads are insanely narrow! Measured in an out roads ... see photos

We spent spring break here. Our spot did not have a cement pad and I wish it did. The sites are all very close together. There is a lot of activities at the park and close by. We loved renting a golf cart. We did have a hard time finding our spot because the camp ground in so big and every one is packed in tight. This was common from what we could gather from other campers.

If you want a positive family experience do not go to this campground. The staff and security were very rude and the overall feel was not family friendly. The park is overly packed and at night it’s like a third world country with security everywhere and crazy teenagers driving in golf carts with loud music. The beach was just as bad. Lifeguards set up umbrellas and chairs in front row and you have to set up behind them or pay them to sit in their chairs. Nothing about this trip was relaxing and positive, we couldn’t wait to leave and will never go back.

Although the experience with the staff at Ocean Lakes could have completely ruined our vacation, we chose to enjoy our family time regardless. We purchased a child’s football and float in THEIR store, only to be told we could not use it at their pool. Then they told us we couldn’t have coolers at the pool. Coolers that had waters and snacks for our little ones, because the concession stand wasn’t open for us to purchase the items from them. All of this and more was handled very unprofessionally. The icing on the cake was our last night, when they had a golf cart parade right in front of the beach house we had rented - going until 11:00 pm with VERY loud music, singing, and shouting. We had little ones trying to sleep. We have stayed at several other campgrounds in the area and absolutely loved our many stays at those. We were always made to feel welcome, and could relax and enjoy our vacation as opposed to our stay with Ocean Lakes where we were constantly looking over our shoulders expecting to be talked down to for the next supposed infraction. We were told, “Well, Ocean Lakes isn’t for everyone”. On this we can agree. This was our first and last stay at Ocean Lakes.

We had a pull-through site right by the beach - that's the bonus. Just walk out the door, across the road and there was the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Site was somewhat level. Utilities worked good, had a few times where the water pressure stopped but only for a few seconds. Good wifi, good cable. Site was not quite long enough for truck and trailer, we had to ask the people in front to move some stuff so we could pull in and unhitch, same when we unhitched. There are a lot of amenities but during winter most of them were not open. HUGE Laundry facility, the size of a large laundromat so never had to wait for a machine. Cost was $2.75 per wash. They did have large load machines (like a laundromat) took advantage of them and washed our large blankets - cost $5.75. Dog friendly park. This park operates like a small city. LOVED the park during the quiet season, I personally, would not want to be there when it is full, it would be too crowded. The roads are narrow (they call them alleys), luckily we had an end site so pulling out was easy, but many of our neighbors had to hitch up almost sideways. This park is known for its great customer service and we found the staff pleasant and helpful. They have a mail room to receive packages but it is a $1.00 per package to pick up. Spent most of our time walking the beach. We camped at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is by far the best campsite I’ve ever been to. Well maintained lots on concrete pads. Free wifi, with a VERY strong signal, plus premium plans if you need that faster speed at reasonable prices ($4.99 & $9.99) respectively. Had 5G Ultra Capacity while here and fast speeds as well. Cable tv and our site even had a brand new coax to connect to our rig. Clean hookups (30 & 50 amps) on every site, plus enough space for an extra tent if you need the space. The whole campsite is beachfront. There’s bike and golf cart rentals to get around, food, a pool with water park style slides, large convenience store, rv dealer with maintenance, and an arcade all in the premises. This is by far the best and my most favorite RV campground I’ve been to date and I plan to come many more times.

Ok so I work for DoorDash. Today was my first day dashing. I drove to Ocean Lakes tonight at around 10:30pm (Aug 22) and I was greeted by quite possibly the rudest lady I have ever met in my entire life. I simply asked her where I was supposed to go to take my delivery and she went off on me. She raised her voice, yelling at me multiple times like I was a child. I am appalled. Sick to my stomach. Nobody has ever spoken to me like that for asking a simple, general question. I took the rest of the night off, to drive 45 minutes home, to write this review. I can not believe what just happened to me. I mentioned to the customers that I wasn't certain where to bring their delivery after being scolded and they were quick to ask if it was the older lady that was working, as they too were a victim of this evil, rude woman. Me, my family, and my friends visit Ocean Lakes nearly every year and at one point, we were getting free/discounted campground space because I believe my mother may have helped with a divorce/court case. Anyways, I believe its only right for everyone to hear this. We have done nothing but support Ocean Lakes in the past to now be attacked at the front gate by "the face of the company." Even the thought of this woman makes me never want to step foot near that place again.

Great location and speedy check in. Our assigned site was so tight that we could never have gotten in. Thankfully our neighbor switched with us. Packed tight, lots of noise, golf carts whizzing by with stereos blasting. If you want a party and close neighbors this is your scene. It was not our scene.

Paid $49 each night for 3 nights. Stayed in site 2096 which is in the far corner near the beach. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer) Surprisingly check-in was quick and easy for being such a big place. This campground is enormous. Probably the biggest we've ever stayed at. It was a bit tricky finding our site but once we did we parked fairly easily. The access roads are narrow but we were still able to park our 5th wheel without too much trouble. The concrete pad was level. The sewer connection is raised up pretty high off the ground. Walking around the campground it seems like most sites have a tall connector. Ours ended up being about a foot in the air which required a bit of work to get our hose to drain down (you know... gravity is important) and we still ended up "walking the dog" to empty the hose. Our neighbors decided to party past midnight a couple nights with loud music and laughing. And since the sites are so close together that meant they were literally just a couple feet away from us. The pools were closed in early March but we still had fun in the game room, got to hold a small alligator and played at the playground. The beach was just 100 yards from our site so we spent a good amount of time on the beach. Very clean, nice sand. Great for sand castles. Cell service (both Verizon and AT&T) were crazy fast.

The area we stayed in left us just a few feet from the beach. It is a crowed park but the spaces offer enough space that you don’t feel you are on top of each other. The spots closer to the beach are pretty much in the open. I think next time I would like to try the other spots nestled in the wooded area. After being on the beach the shady spots must be nice.

Great family atmosphere and amenities. Sandy Mart is very clean and friendly staff. Water park is super fun. Close to some of the greatest golf in the United States. Pro tip: all pizza in South Carolina is horrible.... but then again living in NJ I am spoiled

Great location! A large park, but it has everything.... Located right on the beach with it's own access, the perfect cure for 2 feet of snow at home up north :D. Definitely try Benjamins bakery down the road (GREAT pastries) and Sandlapper grill - awesome also :D. Only complaint - internet slooooow. Wifi and my AT&T for some reason, really slow. I guess you are meant to spend time on the beach!

Fantastic campground to bring kids to. Clean beaches and a lot of activities inside. Everyone is super friendly. This is one of the top places for me to stay and I will definitely be coming back many more times. While the sites are excellent, there are these seed pods that are prickly and stick to everything. There where some teens lighting up fireworks on the beach late at night and many folks bring their modified golf carts with loud stereos during the day so that’s something to consider (neither didn’t bother us at all).

Horrible stay! We rented unit # 1112. We found a live bed bug crawling on the mattress cover on the bed. I collected it and turned it over to Tammy (office manager). We also had ants in the kitchen, and roaches in the bathroom. The couch was like sitting on a hard box. The bathroom sink would not drain well which is very unsanitary. The dresser drawers in the bedroom were falling out, broken i guess. The table and chairs on the porch were dirty and rusted, did not use. The porch steps are falling away from the porch, slanted, hazardous, i almost fell. TV service is bad. And there were very loud fireworks every night between 9 - 11p.m. near the rentals. Management will tell you they are fired off on the beach and they can't control that, but, there are fireworks shot off in rental areas. Not good when you have a 4 year old sleeping. If you rent one of the outrageously priced golf cars, let it be known, because management doesn't tell you, that people double park in certain areas and you get blocked in. This happened to us and my husband had to physically maneuver the car blocking us, no key, to be able to leave. This park is way too big to walk anywhere and since i have a bad knee, the golf car was absolutely necessary, and if i am paying almost $400 to rent a car, i want to be able to use it when i need to. I was told by office staff that, "you should be here in summer when school is out, golf cars are parked everywhere." No thank you! I complained to management that there should be signs if it is a double parking area but there aren't. They just assume you know. The rentals are so close together that you can hardly open your car doors, and if you have 2 vehicles, you have to back out one vehicle before getting into your car. We had to buy an outdoor extension cord to plug in the golf car because of lack of space it gad to be parked where extension cord was needed. People park sideways on both sides and we could barely get through in our truck without hitting mirrors on sides of vehicles. Some of the streets, or should i say, alleyways are so narrow. I felt like a sardine in a sardine can. In closing, i talked with Greg Bender and Tammy ?? in office about these complaints. I asked to be partly compensated $$ for this horrible vacation. At first i was told no. On stating that i would be contacting the health dept. And writing bad reviews, i was later told that they would compensate me $224 out of the $1449 i paid, ( not including the golf cart for almost $400). This amount included a $101 cleaning fee, which was not appropriate since the unit was not. Ì asked for a refund of $300 + the $100 security deposit to total $400, and Tammy refused. She said we were not going to get in a bidding war. ( The $100 deposit would be refunded to me regardless.) I hope everyone takes time to read this review. If these circumstances do not concern you, then fine. But i would sincerely think twice before staying at this park.

First time staying here in the camper. I grew up coming here with my grandmother that lived on Snapper Lane. It has changed a lot to the good. Very busy but they have quite hours (11 pm to 7 pm) and people listen. The Halloweekends in October are very fun, the most trick-or-treaters I have seen in a long time. We had great shade at both locations. K34 had less traffic then 3168. You basically have it all here and do not need to leave if you don't want to.
