Melanie, who was at the recreational vehicle registration point, was incredibly amiable and well-informed about navigating the area using the ferry and PATH network. The Statue of Liberty is visible from that spot. There's a ferry service available right at the dock, providing transport to and from lower Manhattan. Although it's a bit pricey and essentially just a parking area, the overall experience makes it a worthwhile place to stay. If I ever return to this region, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Furthermore, the fellow campers were quite sociable. The nights were generally peaceful. The round-the-clock security was a reassuring presence.

We reached quite late, and security was on the move around the area as we arrived. The registration process was smooth. The woman who assisted us was very friendly, providing us with all the necessary information, and even some we didn't realize we needed. The area is adjacent to a harbor, and from there, the Statue of Liberty is visible. It's tranquil during the night, and the towering residential buildings surrounding you impart a sense of being in the city's core, but in a positive manner and minus the noise. This area is strategically situated in Jersey City and boasts a strong sense of community with shops and eateries within a short stroll. It's not a caravan park or resort, but a parking area equipped with connections and a waste disposal station. However, if you value it for what it is, you won't be let down. #UrbanOasis

Yes it's a parking lot and not cheap, get over it; it's great for its purpose: being close to NYC. Has 50A, 30A, 20A & water at each pedestal. Getting around: Easy & close to NYC via NJ PATH train (10m easy walk, can use Metro card just as on NYC subways) or driving Holland tunnel (very close, just up the road). During times of traffic just take the train, Uber to the train station if you don't want to walk a few mins. Opinion & experience: Can see statue of liberty from front office, marina, bar / restaurant right across parking lot, coffee shop 2 blocks up. $150/nt due to weekend/holiday, but still worth every penny to be this near NYC and still have all your stuff with you. 24hr security ensuring those who come in are supposed to, zero security concerns, was great in that regard. Noise: it's the city and you have a bar/restaurant nearby. Site: gravel but in good shape. Power at my pedestal and a few others didn't work, office had no issue with me moving to another open spot -- very pleasant and easy to work with.

The park was very easy to get to. Follow the directions on the RV Park’s Web Site. There is pavement all the way including the interior roads. Signage is adequate although not needed. You can’t go any further following their directions.. Check in was efficient and friendly and very informative. Melanie, the lady that works in the office is the best tour guide we have ever met. She will direct you to where ever you need to go! The rules are fairly basic. The most important one is letting them know you are checking out. Not hard to do. Sign the clip board that sits right outside the check in window. If you don’t check out you will be charged $40.00 via your on file credit card. Our site, A04 was a gravel back in that was just long enough for our Coach with our Towed snuggled beside it. Services (30/50 amp and water only) were to the left rear. Each site has no other amenities. Our site was flat but seriously sloped to the front. Our front wheels were off of the ground when our auto levelers finished. Overall the park was acceptable for what it was designed to do. It is not a resort. There is nothing to do inside of the park. There is no entertainment what so ever. Your neighbors will be real close but I doubt you will see much of them. The only reason you are here is to have a safe place to sleep while you visit NYC. There is very good security 24/7. We could never get the park included wifi to connect but there were other “free” wifi connections available. Verizon was mostly one bar, two on occasion. There is no Cable TV but we found plenty OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult as there are no trees to block a signal We did not use the washrooms or showers or laundromat but we checked and found them clean. There is very close access to ferry services that will take you close to Wall Street etc. The Grove Subway Station is just an easy ten minute walk. From there, the 33rd Street Train will take you within very easy walking distance to The Empire State Bldg, Times Square, Macy’s etc. It is about a ten minute drive to the Ferry that will take you to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There are is a Surf/Tiki Bar just across the parking lot but we did not go there. A Pharmacy is within walking distance. A grocery store is just a short drive away. We found this park to be a great base to see NYC. We paid $135.00 per night plus tax. ($579.26 for four nights) and we feel we received fair value. When you consider how convenient access to the NYC tourist attractions are it’s pretty reasonable. We will be back if in the area again.

Stayed 3 nights. Great location. 5 blocks or half mile to path train which is 2 stops to the city. Bathrooms were decent. Just a gravel lot with water and electric. Felt safe and they do have security, cameras and in person.

As others have noted, the best thing about this campground is its location in Jersey City, right next to Liberty Harbor State Park. It's basically a very tight parking lot. We were so close to our neighbors we could not fully extend our awning. Electric only, they have a dump station. Didn't use their other facilities. That said, it's easy to take a short walk to the waterfront and get gorgeous views of lower Manhattan. Bikes would be the best way to explore the state park, and we chose not to take our 6 bikes off the rack since we were there to explore the city. Saw lots of bikers, dog walkers, runners, etc as we drove past the park. The water taxi dock is across from the RV lot, you have to buy your tickets online before boarding, no other way to purchase. Cheap and fast. We took the subway and PATH back to Jersey City and walked the 8-10 mins back to the campground. It felt safe enough even at 10pm. Security seemed to be very good, always someone by the entrance. T-Mobile service pretty good.

We knew going in that this would be little more than an expensive urban parking lot with easy access to NYC. Getting into and out of the RV Park was easier than expected, even in our 42' motorhome with tow car. The only difficulty was due to double-parked cars and delivery trucks along the local roads. Our site (B18) was level and long enough for our rig and tow car parked sideways. It was just barely wide enough for us to open our slide-outs on both sides if we parked dead center in the site. Fortunately the rigs on either side of us didn't have slides... if they did, they'd be within an inch of touching ours. The free Wi-Fi worked better than expected... not exactly fast, but usable almost all the time. I was surprised that many of the sites in our row were unlevel, and several rigs had their front wheels up in the air or blocks under tires. The dump station is in a corner of the RV park, so you need to back your rig into that corner to use it which is awkward but manageable. We were pleasantly surprised to find several grassy areas to walk our dog nearby, including some longer walks to Liberty State Park or the unofficial off-leash dog "beach" past the ferry. Our dog did pick up LOT of deer ticks from the grass during our stay which surprised us in the city. Our biggest complaint was low voltage in our 50 amp site. Our second day (in June) was sunny and warm, and running just one of our three air conditioners caused our Progressive EMS to shut off power due to low voltage (around 108 volts I think). The office said it's out of their control and "sometimes the city sends us low voltage". Since we were leaving our dog home while we visited the city, I had to remove the Progressive and leave just one A/C on for the day. Fortunately we are able to remotely monitor our RV temperatures and the inside temp only reached 82 degrees with the one A/C running. I'd be very concerned about staying here in summer and leaving our dog without reliable 50A power.

With very few places to stay in & around the New York area we chose this park for its location. A short train ride on the Path Train we were taken into the station at the World Trade Centre and close to the underground. The RV Park itself has been turned from a car park into a RV park and with this you are up close and personal to your neighbours. The sites are small but backing in is easy as of the angle and layout of each site. There is only power & water available on the site and they also have a dump on site which again is easy to access. They have a weekly rate which gives you the 7th day free. Power 50 & 30 Amp. Water Yes Internet Ask at reception for the code. It can be a bit flakey and slow during peak hours. Laundry Yes This is a commercial area and there is construction works close by.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a parking lot, surrounded by other parking lots, and construction. The sites are tight, but all of our neighbors were friendly. We were here for two weeks and had a mostly negative experience. I would recommend this park if you want to come in and out of NYC easily. Beyond that, you are gambling with sanity and safety. My disclaimer is that we booked this park because I needed to be in the city for work, but my husband would be working in the trailer while we were here. He had a much more miserable experience. I think if you are coming to tour NYC during the day, you will be ok. We were parked in the outer row with 30 amp service. The power went out pretty consistently, as many as 5 times one night. I would recommend booking a 50 amp spot if your rig can do that. We asked around, and our row seemed worse than the others. One day I was in the laundry room and a fence post in the tent area caught on fire due to an electric conduit attached to it that, I imagine, was completely overloaded and burnt through its protective covering. I put it out with a fire extinguisher and after being told about what happened, I'm not sure the staff really did anything. Be careful. There were many guests in RV rentals and we saw one rip off a neighbor's mirrors leaving their site. It's tight moving. The wifi was good except at peak night hours. A few times the network switched from a password to a voucher with no notice. Not good for workflow. The bathrooms and laundry were clean but a little run down. The dump station was not so clean. It was very windy there and garbage like plastic bags and bottles kind of wafted through the air. Welcome to NYC :)

This park is all about location, location, location. As others have said it's nothing more than a blacktop parking lot with sites so close you might well touch your neighbor. Plus for $90/night all you really get is electric/water (either 30 Amp or 50 Amp). However it's in an awesome location to explore the city. You're right next to the commuter ferry into the Pier 11 (Wall Street) and only 10 mins walk to PATH (rail line) or the ferry into World Financial Center. Plus Jersey City is super dog-friendly (we found several large parks to walk doggie around camp) and has tons of great food and beer options. We honestly loved our time exploring NYC and would come back here again for the same.

Liberty Harbor RV Park is a parking lot with water and power hookups (no sewer!) and fantastic access to New York City. Our first site was C28, which was right next to the entrance of boat storage. One night at 11:30pm (after we went to sleep) we got a knock on the door from security asking us to move our truck. It hadn't moved in two days, so I thought the timing was a little weird, but they said our truck was in the way of the boat mover (or whatever it's called). Our site was also next to a parking lot and construction workers would walk in between our trailer and the back fence all day long, we moved so we could have a little more privacy. Laundry was clean but expensive. $3.00 wash, $2.50 dry. The people in the office are nice and the location can't be beat. If there was sewer and the sites were better spaced I'd give it another star. Verizon - DOWNLOAD: 11.06 Mbps, UPLOA: 4.63 Mbps AT&T - DOWNLOAD: 5.54 Mbps, UPLOA: 6.40 Mbps

I refuse to base an evaluation on location. Yes, this is absolutely an outstanding location, all manner of public transportation is available. The staff is great, helpful. That's where it ends. This is a gravel parking lot, very tight spacing and not a lot of room for the toad. Lots of garbage scattered-cig butts, metal wires/hardware pieces, bottle caps, and general garbage like used paper towels. The only dump site is a hazmat site, tucked in a corner and has construction materials piled up around it. I watched an RV dump, then start to drive off but forgot to close his valve, dumping clumps of human waste, then use a hose to scatter the spill in the gravel. Bath/shower (men's) was perpetually dirty, one toilet continually ran for 3 days, the ceiling sheetrock is sagging/peeling, shower pans were loose. Driving a big rig with toad into the park is a stressful event, city streets are skinny, lots of construction, and cars park anywhere creating a maze to wind through. The site price is way out of line high, their laundry prices are outrageous ($3 wash, 2.50 dry), and they charge an exorbitant $20 for using their honey wagon. But, they are the only game in town. We will not return.

No questions about it - location-wise, this is the BEST place you can be to go to NYC. Getting there is tricky no matter which way you come from because you have to get through Jersey City, NJ and it is just not that spacious. We have a 42 foot 5th wheel and a big truck, and we did it. We saw other rigs in there that were bigger also, so it is possible. Make sure you check your route ahead of time and use RV navigation because some bridges are not too tall around there. All spots are back-in and they are just water and 50amp electric, but actually not so bad. Of the rows in there, some are spots up to 40 feet, some are 45, and C row is up to 50 feet. So even with our big rig and truck, we were able to fit. Our truck was parked sideways in the front of the spot and technically it was larger than the space given, but our parents were staying next to us, so we borrowed a bit of their space. But it is possible, and if you cannot fit, just talk to them about a parking fee to take up some other space with your vehicle. The hookups are all at the back of the rig as well, but this works well. Spots are well defined so you know where you need to get to make it in your spot. Yes, you will be right next to the person next to you, but we have been at places with less space than that in the country, so this gains the benefit of location relative to the city. Getting in to NYC or to other nearby attractions is so easy. There is the ferry that starts literally 500 feet from the RV park. At the time it was about $7 per person and it takes you down to the financial district on NYC side. It only runs on the week and we actually decided to do the subway for everything, so I cannot speak to the actual ferry service. Also to mention, if visiting the Statue of Liberty, Statue Cruises leaves from NY or NJ side, and on NJ side it leaves from Liberty State Park which is only about 2 miles away - very convenient! ($7 parking at the State Park) Otherwise getting around NYC, just walk 5 blocks down Marin to the Grove Street PATH station which is a subway that has a few different routes around NJ and in to NYC. Red line to go downtown to WTC or Financial Area and Orange Line (on weekends might be Blue through Hoboken) to 33rd Street side and you can get off and transfer to another subway to get to anything up town. We were able to get to Times Square in just about 45 minutes including walking and changing subways. At the time it was about $2.75 per subway side on NJ or NY side and the unlimited plan on NY side does not work on NJ side. (contact me for more details about our trip and how we got around) I marked cleanliness of the RV park as 4 star because it was actually pretty good. Things were straightened up, trash cans emptied daily and messed looked after. Yes, it is in an industrial area so there are large pieces of machinery driving around and there may be scraps of stuff in the fringes of the park, but I do not think it was a major problem. The noise is the noise of the city. It will not be too quiet, but I mark that as 4 star also because it was what we expected. Overall - this is the best choice - parking would even run you almost this much per day and hotels are so expensive. It is worth the hassle of getting your rig into the city and you will enjoy the quick access to the city. During checkout you MUST sign out or they will charge you $40. She went over it with me at checkin and highlighted it, so they are serious about this policy. I think it was well defined and we made sure to do it. They want to know when the sites are ready for the next people. Also a few blocks on the way to the subway is Club Bark which is a nice dog watching service we used. They keep the dogs inside unless you pay for a walk, but again, the service and cost was perfect for what we needed for one of our longer days in the city.

We wanted to visit family in NYC but did not want to camp an hour north of the city (we did that last summer). We were hesitant after reading the reviews but honestly we were pleasantly surprised. It was definitely a gritty Jersey dock kind of place but we found the people at the front desk VERY helpful and great people. We were fortunate that when we stayed for 2 nights in Mid April that there were not may people so we had some breathing room and were able to view the Statue of Liberty from our site - loved it! The location is great and during the week there is a ferry that leaves from out front and drops you off in the financial district, the views from the short ferry ride were spectacular! It was a little more difficult (only a little) on the weekend where you have to walk about .4 of a mile to the subway station (next to a donut shop) to take the train into the city. The showers were OK, have been to better and much worse - there were 6 or 8 so no real need to wait. The facility is again Jersey dock like but we would stay there again. It made visiting NYC easy peasy!

When checking out, if the office is closed, we must sign a sheet near the exit. That's what we did when we left. But a few weeks later, when we received our credit card statement, we were charged $ 40 for apparently failing to sign the check out sheet. WE HAVE SIGNED IT. These people are just thieves.

Our family was scheduled to spend 5 nights at Liberty Harbor RV the last week of March 2020. Due to the pandemic- National Emergency, we canceled the reservation. We understand that they have a no refund policy. However, during a national emergency, this policy should be revised. First of all, they are very expensive for a “parking lot” type of campground. Secondly, they require half of your entire stay as a deposit. Then, they have a no refund policy on the deposit. We requested to reschedule next year to prevent the loss of our money. They offered to reschedule only during 2020. We explained that it was impossible for us to come at another time in 2020, but we could come in 2021. We asked for them to have some compassion during this National Emergency and make an exception. They refused to work with us on dates in 2021 and refused to refund our money. There were 10 other campgrounds on our journey up the east coast. ALL other campgrounds were understanding of the situation and gave refunds on our deposits. We were very sad to cancel our trip, and the lack of compassion from these people made it even worse. We do not recommend this RV Park!!!

Had a great time here. Campground is an oversized parking lot but so convenient to New York and Jersey. You are right on the harbor with ferry access to all your points. The train is 5 blocks away and cheap to ride. All of the staff were wonderful. Each and everyone went out of their way to help with all of our questions. Had to laugh at the person who said bathrooms were not clean. No problem when we were there but on the other hand what idiot would go to a bath house and stand in a shower without flops on anyway. Campers know to wear footware to keep from getting germs.

Yes, just like everyone says .... this park is really a park-ing lot. That’s okay though, ‘cause we’re just parking there right? Only 2 subway stops to the World Trade Centre & just 5 to 34th street. The access to Manhatten was amazing! We loaded our Metro Card with $40 each for 4 days and had a fare or 2 left over! Easy to buy & load your card at the Grove St station. Spent an afternoon bike riding around the waterfront & downtown areas of Jersey City. Lots to see & do only blocks from the park! Tons of great restaurants & boutiques. We also rode our bikes thru the back end of the park & along the marina paths right to Liberty State Park. Locked our bikes up & got tickets tickets right there for the ferry that toured Ellis Island & the Statue. Was so easy! Hopped on our bikes after it was done & rode 15 min back to Liberty Harbor. 10+ convenience. Yes. The sites are tight. Yes. You might hear your neighbour while they are INSIDE their RV & yes, the overhead parking lot lights may beam into your RV at night. Wifi is also not great. All tolerable, as long as you remind yourself that the access to so much .... while paying so little (relatively speaking) .... & at such a well run RV Park .... is totally worth it. I have travelled & stayed in NYC almost 20 times. It was a gamechanger for me to have my own home on wheels to come back to after a day of exploring & only have to pay ONE QUARTER of the price of a hotel room or AirBNB. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed leaving Manhattan’s hustle & bustle & returning to the relative quiet of Liberty Harbor. Often came back late at night & always felt safe. We WILL be back. BTW ... the staff are total professionals. Helpful & knowledgeable.

This is no beauty. Just a spot to park a RV in a marina parking lot. The water/electric sites are right on top of each other and cost $100 a night. Our nonwatery/nonelectric was $78 with tax and a little more spacious in with the boat storage. The bathrooms and showers were fine, but their WIFI was crap from the nonelectric area. Even though the campground is dirty, noisy, and cramped It does make a great location to explore lots of areas. You can easily walk to areas or hop public transport anywhere you want to go. Plus you can see the Statue of Liberty from your RV.

This place is all about location and proximity to NYC as there are no other RV park options with a 30 minute commute to NYC. The RV Park itself is nothing to write home about as it’s a gravel lot with hookups, but it serves its purpose. Full hookups, hot showers, security guard at gate, 10 minute walk to metro stop, etc. Make sure to sign out upon leaving or you will get charged an additional $40 fee for not checking out. All in all would stay again as it’s really the only option.

This is definitely a no-frills RV Park and Marina, but it has all of the necessities. The water was clean, power was stable, and the internet was usable. The bathrooms were secure, clean, and the showers were free. There is only one dump station, and if leaving mid-morning expect to wait in line. The lot is guarded 24/7 and the security guards were very alert to any vehicle coming into the area so we never felt unsafe. I reserved a spot but was moved because of a larger RV. The check-in clerk did allow me to look at the new spot, and decide if I liked it and worked with me to move yet again. Mass transit (PATH train, NJ Transit, and ferries) is very accessible and the RV Park and is walking distance from many restaurants and convenience stores.

This place is a combination RV park and boat yard. The whole place is run down and the people that work here are really rude. The bathrooms are dirty and hot in the summer. When you take a shower, you end up more sweaty than when you started. All they want here is to make money on their great location and view of the Statue of Liberty but they put absolutely nothing into the place. The entire site is run down and you feel like you are parked in the middle of a junk yard.

Yup, it's a parking lot, next to an active parking lot. Yup, it's expensive. Yup, don't expect much space around you. Yup, don't expect peace and tranquility. Yup, don't expect stellar amenities. You're likely not here for the experience of the RV park itself. And the location has so much to offer. The ferry right there to get into NYC (you can even take your bike on it), or catch the train a block away. Lots of dining within walking distance. Fantastic views around the corner. And endless scenic biking and walking. Oh, and if you lean your head just right and squint you can see the Statue of Liberty. We only stayed two nights, and we exhausted ourselves trying to make the most of the experience. We found the park to be exactly what we were expecting - no frills, great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Worth every penny for the experience. Didn't test the cellular signal or Wi-Fi - we got online enough to get what we needed done, but we were mostly out biking, dining and adventuring. After all, one of the greatest cities in the world is out your doorstep.
